This weekend I’m spending time at Pin Shop Hobbies in Oakville, CT. I love trying new parts and setups while at the track. This week I’ve equipped my Lois 8IGHT 2.0 with a .21 on-road engine. I have argued with a friend of mine that this type of power plant will have plenty of torque to push around my 1/8-scale buggy while he said that it won’t get out of the turns very well. On-road engines are known for having a lot of RPM but not as much low-end torque. My feeling is that all engines are way to powerful these days and pretty much any engine can push our nitro cars around with out any problem. I fired up my buggy and couldn’t believe how quickly the tires grew with each stab of the throttle while on the starter box. I put extra glue on the tires to keep them from ripping off the rims. Now we’ll see how it does in the dirt.

I’m also running my Losi 8IGHT-T 2.0. I installed the Losi Smart Diff in the center. I can’t wait to see how it performs. I’m also trying my new Airtronics M11X out. I’ve already used it in a few other vehicles and I really like it.

During some of the down time at the track I like to bring some bashers and play around on the track. This week I am bringing my project Team Associated SC8. It has a LRP .30 power plant in it. It’s WAY over powered and that makes it more fun to drive.
