I can appreciate the fact that this is the news forums, and the editors like to maintain good will with the advertisers, so negativity is frowned upon. But can anyone honestly look at that body and say that PARMA deserves at least SOME criticism?....Lets face it, maybe they can use it in a positive way and improve these latest designs...

Well it does cover the chassis.
Reminds me of the old ''Generic'' white boxed foods. Probably could purchase and eat them but I don't know anyone who did.

I dunno, compared to some of their previous efforts in the crawling market, this one is pretty good. If I have one complaint, it's that this body is boring and bland.

And the good points are?

Some of you guys sound like sheep.

The body's roof design helps your crawler roll back over. This is a huge advantage. It also has boat sides and dove tailed ends. I happen to think it looks cool and far more realistic than many of the comp bodies being used.

It just needs a cool paint job, that's all.

Matt, I respect your opinion, but I have to be honest. I spent an hour looking over sites with real crawlers. Even those with competition bodies with 3 panels had some semblance of detail to the front or sides. Vents or fake headlights in the front, rivets where they were bolted together, anything to make them look like "funny' versions of real cars.

I'm not debating the functionality of this body, but the lack of detail (in this and the other PARMA bodies.)

I would love to see a real body on a real crawler that looks like this one.

Looks like a typical Parma body to me.

Spent 20 minutes on the mold, didn't bother making any edges remotely crisp.

It probably comes with ZERO decals or body masks also.

Boring and bland are a good thing, at least compared to this abomination (http://www.shopatron.com/product/part_number=10082/137.0.22093.47634.0.0.0).

Well, there is that...LOL.....( don't show Matt, he'll say it's great because the humped hood allows engine clearance......ONLY KIDDING Matt!!!!!!!!)

We have the Parma body for the Losi Mini Rock Crawler and have it custom painted. I'll have Paul post a pic. I think you'll like it. A good paint job changes everything.

Where does it have a realistic look? Also no paint job will make that body look better.

Geez Parma, you guys must put a lot of thought into this just like all your other bodies. They do have a few cool bods, but a lot of their stuff is just really not cool. Being in this scene for many many years you would think they have an eye for taste. They must be working in a cave.

I'm sorry Matt, but this new body reminds me of a bar of soap. I think "realistic" and I think of the converted CJs, Wranglers, and first gen Broncos I see on the road around here (I live in SW PA, so crawlers are a frequent sight in the summer, and on really rough winter days). I also think of the cage-hugging bodies I've seen on Lucas Oil on the Edge and Truck U. I have a Venom crawler on the way, and I love the minimalist body it has. To me, it looks real. I think the realism factor is what is driving the two fastest growing classes in the hobby right now, rock crawlers and the short-course truck class. Having been in this hobby since off-roaders originally looked like their full-size counterparts, I like this shift back to more scale appearing vehicles.

and Matt, please don't remove these posts, like RCCA did on the last body. We are all giving constructive critiques without flaming, which a company like PARMA might appreciate. If anything, forward this section to them. It might help them seeing customer feedback.

They have some geat guys working there, and I am sure they would be open to what we are saying.

What they should've done was payed attention to what people want and asked for. Instead they went with their own thinking and logic and to no surprise this is another disappointment. This is too obvious that whoever they employed has little to no experience in this field (and others too).

Amazing how the body was 'okayed' to be sold. The body is not complete and the price is too much. You Parma guys have any idea what you are up against? You guys need to hangout at crawler forums and gather all the info that you can. Once you do you WILL finally have a decent body.

Plus, what is up with your paintjobs? I guess having all the resources and equipment but no style doesn't help!

And Matt, seriously, it's not nice to call your forum members "sheep" for stating their opinions...because this sheep's online subscription is about to expire, and I'm on the fence as whether or not to re-up.

I think Parma had serious competition crawling in mind when they made this body. If your looking for a realistic scale body, this may not be your body. You can cut the fenders off the Parma 34 Ford though, and it will look sick!

My wife did one of these with a real wood and brass bed and real headlights. It will be on my scaler. IMO the '34 is one of the only bodies they made that was worth the money. The crawler body is HIDEOUS.

hey, who did the paint on that body? I know an RC company that could use their skills.....

BTW, I knew flaming would get into this thread eventually, but I didn't expect it to be so "nice".....lol ( Right Matt?)

What Matt says is very true!! The body looks to be done the right right way. Sharp crisp edges on a crawler are a bad thing the same goes with flat panels as well. You want the shell to slip and roll through the rocks. You don't want it stopping when a sharp body line digs into a rock or you roll over and there you sit because the shell has a flat roof line. And who needs fake lights and grills? This is a comp crawler shell made to work. I think in most cases you'll see the other shells out there getting hacked up just so they will work better. I plan on getting one for my Axial based DNA CFX. I'm thinking with that shell slammed on it I should be able to drive the crawler with it flipped over on the top. Cool design.

Jason,
Sometimes you NEED some detail, to go to far towards performance only can be a bad thing. A bit more ''scale'' and you can still be good performance wise.

Performance only is what practicaly killed the slotcar hobby in late 60's early 70's. The cars went from detailed - - to door wedge blobs that no longer even had front wheels, instead they were painted on the body.

well said....in fact, performance only has slowly killed RC racing in general.....Look how well HPI is doing with the GT series and vintage racing series. Radio Control used to be about scale looks and RACING ( or crawling as it were).

Glad to see HPI and Kyosho bringing us back to our roots. GO GT and vintage.......Don't want to see NO MORE slab sided stratus's...

Well said. I liked when TCs had realistic bodies and suspension that allowed for some body roll. It was awesome to see cars that looked so close to their real-world inspirations banging and leaning on each other around the track!

And yes, that '34 Ford looks cool, but it really isn't a crawler shell. But it looks sharp on that tricked out 'Pede!
