This weekend I went down to Englishtown NJ for the NHRA drag races. I was walking around the pits and under the Lucas Oil tent I saw and SC8 and SC10. As I started looking at the SC10 I noticed its very similar to the T4 chassis besides being a bit longer and maybe a tad wider. I know from experience that the T4 is a good chassis but I was just wondering how the two trucks compared? Obviously its bigger and heavier. Also are some of the T4 parts interchangable with the SC10? I noticed a few things I would change right away such as the shocks to threaded, dogbones to CVDs, and a few other odds and ends. And finally whats your overall opinion on the SC10? Love it or hate it?

From what I've understood it is a T4 chassis with a longer front end. In my opinion it will be a good racer but weak bashes.

Word from the track is that the Slash can hang with it no problem when tuned properly.

The SC10 is a longer T4. It uses the same arms, shock towers, and steering. The chassis has been make a little longer after the battery holder towards the back. The stealth trans is a little different because it has larger bearings for the gear diff outdrives. A very set up Slash can hang with a well set up SC10(with stock components in each)...but the SC10 is much more nimble.

I love both of my SC10's, when I bought the first one, I compared it to the Slash. Right away, I noticed that the Slash was sitting a lot higher and would need more tweaking to have the set up of the SC10. jjlove is dead on by saying that the SC10 is nimble, Im running a Novak 4.5R BL set up in one of my trucks and it does great... Gearing has been a little tough for me with this vehicle, but in time Im sure I'll find the sweet spot.

One of my SC10's came as an RTR, and I had to tear into the rearend and add the shims to the diff. I was suprised at how easy it was to work on, six screws and the whole rear clip comes out... Seems like AE is still making awesome stuff...

I have to take that back. I love racing my Slash in the spec class at our track.

I found the sweet spot as far as gearing my BL SC10's... Running a Novak GTB with a 4.5R motor, 15 pinion and 87 spur. Smokin fast, draws a lot of amps, watch batteries. ESC and motor run nice and cool... Running a 5800 SS in my other SC10, 19 pinion with 87 spur, also sporty with cool temps. :)

Lookin for local Slashes to race :)
