I am a big fan of NASCAR and road course racing. The guys are heading to Infineon Raceway and I can’t wait to watch it. Do you think that they should add a road course race to the chase? I think they should and there shouldn’t be any road course ringers allowed to run. If your team wants the points your driver should be in the car.

im on board with the no ringers idea. that's one thing that's always pissed me off

Funny thin is that the ringers never do well.

A few days of practice probably isn't enough time to slow the reflexes down ... Can't really blame the ringer's talent. ;)

I think NASCAR should switch to all road courses. Drop the left turn only tracks altogether.

I think I might watch if this happened.

That'd never happen...

Plus, 50% of nascar's fans don't understand the concept of slowing down at all or turning right in general.

They'd probably only gain about 20% fanbase, so it's really a loss if they drop the ovals. And that's sad. America's only famous home-brewed autosport is redneck to the extreme.

+1 to that rccardude04.

Though to be honest, I did try oval RC racing and had a blast. Even so, I will stick to onroad TC superstock.

LOL That's true!

Still, 100% redneck. :D

Aren't the figure 8 races, school bus figure 8 racing, swamp buggies... Aren't those ours too?

I would love to see a couple more road course races in NASCAR and 1 in the chase, but oval is king, in my opinion.
Oval racing is truly an American invention so why not have the most popular motor sport race on ovals.
Though it's only left turns, it is not as easy as the uninitiated will have you believe.Set up and driving line are just as, if not more important as in road racing. When wins and losses are measured in thousands of a second, you have to be on just as in road racing.
To those who consistently insult oval racers, I say try it before you run your mouth.
I have raced just about everything RC and you can not beat the intensity of oval racing.

My 2 cents.

i like the road courses as a change of pace, but that's not what nascar's about. I am a huge nascar fan, and i certainly understand slowing down and turning left. I also watch CORR (Torq or whatever is is now) and IMSA type racing, as well as monster Jam.... no F-1 or indy though. Boring as the day is long. If i had a choice between the rednecks at a nascar race and the elites at F1, i'll be over with the rednecks drinking a bud.

BTW, for those who think LTO is easy, try taking a run at pocono sometime in a cup car. Best birthday present ever, but got a little white knuckled going over the tunnel turn.
