It's not recommended, Castle says the most you can do on 3S is the Sidewinder 4600, and more specifically not to attempt 3S on the Sidewinder 5700. You risk busting the ESC and losing Castle warranty as well.

ok, i lost the auction on the 3s pack anyway.
they don't make much scene though, they say not to run 3s but they list a speed and gearing for 3s on there gearing chart for the 5700

That's for the Mamba Max 5700. The limitation is with the Sidewinder ESC, not the motor itself.

The Sidewinder actually gets kinda warm on 3s with a 4600 motor, or even a Traxxas VXL motor. I think if you tossed a fan on it, and were VERY careful with gearing, you might be okay. But you'll void all warranties. :)

Castle warranties the Sidewinder 4600 on 3S, a simple fan mod won't void it. That was the main reason for my buying it.

The MMM already handles up to 6S. Are you talking about the Mamba Max Pro? That's not for bashers, thats a sensored ESC focused on proper racers.

And sensorless.... I beleave...
You would think it would hold up against the stress more? But, I could be wrong...

Yes it can handle sensorless motors too, but the main focus is on it being a versatile sensored ESC. Even though its 6S capable, the Monster can handle more power.
