It's not my favorite, but I'd say that the T-Maxx has had a huge impact on the industry.

The original RC10, T-Maxx and the Slash were all huge. What about Tamiya's Rough Rider, Kyosho's Burns (first 1/8-scale off-roader), Losi's JrX2 (pushed 1/10-scale platforms the molded route), and HPI's Baja 5B?

Thanks and please keep posting.

I <3 My 5B. It brought 1/5 scale cars to the average person.

My 3:

T-maxx - Brought nitro to the masses, and in a big way
Tamiya TA01 - Grandaddy of the touring car boom, and still in production in various forms.
Gold Tub RC10 - brought great handling and tuneabilty to the offroad scene.

TA-02: It still has heaps of good hop-ups and is really cheap. Son of the TA-01. Of which, it brought the Touring car boom on, and actually by mistake.

it would be hard to argue that the maxx series hasn't had an impact. i'd say the original rc10 or even rc10 series was pretty revolutionary too.

+1!:D

I would have to agree that the Maxx series has made a huge impact also. It is the 5.0 Mustang of the RC world; more hop-ups than any other truck and it has lasted where other MTs have been discontinued.

I'd say the T-Maxx had the most impact (at least recently). There were no big nitro monster trucks until the T-Maxx, and that's about all you can really find when it comes to nitro any more. The RC10 is the model-T of r/c. The Micro RS4 and Mini-Zs started the whole "little car" craze on 2 different scales.

As far as my favourite that I've owned, I'd have to say the Slash. Or really any decent-performing 1/10 closed-fender CORR/TORC/whatever truck just because of the scale appearance.

RC10 was huge when I was a kid.

Then the T-maxx forever changed the way we viewed monster trucks.

I think the RC18T opened up a new scale of offroading and affordability.

There were no big nitro monster trucks until the T-Maxx

I think the Kyosho USA-1 takes the award for that. The T-Maxx was what made the nitro monster truck more feasible in terms of performance and user-friendliness.

Tamiya Rookie Rabbit.

Just kidding! :D

My votes:

1) Tamiya Sand Scorcher - first real mass-appeal vehicle with a body which is still appealing and seen in other forms to this day (plus it was my first :o).
2) Tamiya Clod Buster!!! First real monster and still around after over 20 years.
3) RC10 - gold...must have gold!

My favorite is Tamiya's short wheelbase TA04-SS chassis, but I'm with the rest of these guys as far as the biggest impact-Hard to top the RC10 and Tmaxx when it comes to major contributions to RC.

Team Associated RC10, even Associated's latest RC10 variations can't compare to th OG gold pan.

Kyosho Optima or Yokomo YZ-10 for 4wd.

Tamiya's Blackfoot pretty much started truck racing, was a "monster" truck class back in the day.....now just buggies with bigger tires. But the Blackfoot was first.

Tamiya's Hornet got ALOT of kids into R/C.....

Hah, it's been a while but... The USA-1 was a truggy! It was styled as a monster truck, but the center driveline and differentials were located above the chassis.

Gotta be the gold tub RC10. I used to race at The Ranch Pit Shop when they were being prototyped. and the tub was hammered out by hand.... Gil Losi Jr. & Jay Halsey had them, and couldnt be beat.... unless they broke! The one trophy I have saved all these years is the one where I beat them both on a Wednesday night..... after they both broke, and my distant 3rd turned into a win!

Personal favorite: Kyosho Ultima series - This was the car that made us believe the RC10 could be beaten.

Impact: RC10 I love Tamiya but this car was the benchmark of the 80's

Honorable mention: Kyosho Optima series - This car was the "Toyota Supra" of my generation. If you had an Optima you were automatically considered FAST.

Runner ups: Kyosho Hang On Rider, USA-1 Nitro, Burns; Tamiya TA-01, TA-03, Frog, Blackfoot, Hilux(the first one), Hornet/Grasshopper, Road Wizard; HPI RS4 series, Savage; Yokomo Dogfighter, Drift series; Traxxas Maxx series, Nitro Hawk, Slash; Team associated RC12e, RC500, RC10GT; Pacesetter Quarter scale cars; Bolink Eliminator 10; Wedico Trucks; Losi JRX-2, Streetweapon, LST.

I would like to hear from someone who was in the hobby in the 70's.

My favorites is the Traxxas Blue Eagle LSII and the Traxxas SRT, these were my first "real" rc cars (and I wish I could find one again!!)

Biggest Impact has to the be original RC10.

I currently race a Losi XX and XXT against all the newers cars and they hold up GREAT!! Not only that, it adds a whole level of fun to be racing something thats 15+ years old and still keeping up and beating the guys with with brand new stuff!!

I gotta go with the Traxxas Sledgehammer. Not that it was a great vehicle but it's what got me into real R/C's beyond my Tyco and Nikko's back in the 80's :D

What about the Big Grizzly and the MRP High Roller?I was a young enough to remember see these monster truck, but not old enough to know the story on these.
My vote would be the the Clod Buster or E-revo.

Kinda like getting a Lifetime Achievement award when you're still alive.

Old school, of 'all time':
Favorite? Tamiya TA02. It was/is a great touring car, I could keep up with the Schumachers and RS4's in the touring car field on nickels, great hopups that actually made a difference.

Impact, I gotta go with the gold tub RC10, off-road kings for many years. Most have forgotten that it even morphed into a decent on-road car.

New School, almost faddish:
Favorite: Axial AX-10 Scorpion. Brought crawling to everyones living room and local hobby store, came in a kit, and still gave you room to improve or modify to your heart's desire.

T/E-Maxx. The monster truck craze is still in full swing, but its like the dirty little addiction no one wants to admit to. How many of us have or lust after a SC truck, but still pull out the 'ol monster truck to bash or race when no one's looking?

WOW the most versatile and one of the toughest that has been around in many forms.
Most likely has the most aftermarket support, and easiest ever to make what ever you want out of it.

TRAXXAS STAMPEDE.

I been in this a long time and had pretty much every one mentioned so far.
But my favorite all time most fun to drive and mod has to be the Pede :D
