For some reason my mamba max 7700kv system is overheating in my Associated B4. I am using a Reedy 5000mah 35C battery. My gearing is 84/18. I am usually doing WOT runs so maybe that is the reason.

try sticking a fan infront of your esc and above it. the one in the front should be blowing across the esc and the one above it should be sucking air up. splice them together, then to your battery wires on your esc. should help quite a bit

I actually did have a fan on and it helped, but the wires on the fan always snap off.

The 7700 system is really only designed for high speed passes and short runs. If you're running it for the whole pack, you may just be going for too long.

Also, how hot is it getting? Shutting off? Maybe a smaller pinion is required.

find a way(shoe goo maybe?) to mount the fans to the chassis, then hard wire the wires directly to your battery wires on your esc.

the motor temp is around 145 and the esc is 165. It has never shut off.

Thats not too hot if thats after a whole pack.

145 is as cool as you can force any Mamba motor to run.

The ESC is a little warmer than mine normally are but you're still 35F from shutdown.

It's okay to let a brushless system run a little hotter than you would a brushed system... I wouldn't worry about it if that's all the hotter it's getting.
