why cant the sidewinder 5700 system run a 3 cell, but the 4600 can?

It's not made to handle those rpm.

Not that, Sidewinder cannot handle the power requirements of the 5700. The Mamba Max can handle a 5700 on 3S without any issues.

high kv motors pull more amps, thats partly how they're able to spin faster at the same volts.

Plus 5700 at 11.1 volts is some crazy rpm, motor motors and gears have trouble with that sort of rpm.

Better to run lower volts or lower KV. You'll still make sick power.

It's the limitations of the ESC, not the motor. The Sidewinder ESC cannot handle the high current draw of the motor on 3S and it will let thew magic smoke out!:D At least that's the way I understand it.
