Im currently running a SW4600 combo in my slash. After watching the original /backslash vid, & various good comments, im looking at a lehner motor. ATM, with stock gearing the 4600 has awesome speed & torque. Im looking at either the lehner basic 4200 or 5300, running on only 2s.

Would the lehner basic 4200 come close to the CC4600 in terms of speed. I do believe i remember reading somewhere, the power figures for the lehners are a little under-rated, someone please correct me if wrong. Im also hoping it will run a little cooler than the 4600, cause in my hot climate, after a run the 4600 comes off quite hot.

If anyone has had experiences with lehner, chime in and lmk how it is....

I would suggest using a basic XL size motor for a slash. I would think that the regular basic size motors would be more suitable for a TC or buggy. I use a basic 3600XL in my T4 with an MM esc. I used an old 2s 8000mah lipo at the local track, and I was racing around for over 40 minutes non stop. When I was done, the motor was cool to the touch. It really is a great motor.

I used the basic 4200 in everything I own, it is a great little motor. It seemed to work well in my T3. If you are in a warmer climate you may want to do as Maxx42 suggested and go with the bigger Basic XL motors.

Thats the original backslash project & i just went over it again & he's using a basic 5300 on 3s. watch the vid, actually goes pretty hard, but thats the 5300 on 3s, im going for a 4200 on 2s...

I wanted to go with the basic 4200, because i can still use it with the sidewinder esc. the sidewinder wont be able to power an XL, they require to much current....

You can probably make the basic 4200 work just fine, but you will have to pay attention to the motor temps when you first start out and change gearing until things work well. I don't think it will be too hard to make it work on 2S.

Yeha, if i end up getting the basic 4200, ill deff. keep an eye on temps.

Now, is a basic 4200 comparable in power to a CMS4600, or not even close?!

I don't own the CMS4600, but the LMK 4200 is a lot more powerful than the CMS6900 in terms of torque.

I would like to add that although the basic 4200 may work well in the slash, an XL sized motor would run your slash at much cooler temps, and it would also allow you more gearing options due to its higher torque output. This was the reason why I bought the basic 3600XL for my T4 a couple of years ago - truly a great motor. Good luck with your brushless slash.
