Latest race new from LRP (http://www.lrp.cc/):

In its U.S. debut, the LRP SPX8 brushless impressed with a 1-2 finish in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class in Round 7 of the JBRL Nitro series. Revelation Raceway, one of the largest tracks on the west coast, is definitely a power circuit. The SPX8 brushless was up to the task— devouring the long backstretch and making the long-distance jumps an afterthought.

Team Associated factory drivers Chris Jarosz and Ryan Cavalieri chose two 5000mAh batteries wired in series to create a 4S configuration to power their RC8e buggies. This versatile combination was not only powerful, but easy to drive due the SPX8’s sensored design.

As a world leader in 1:10 ESC and motor design, LRP is proud to bring winning technology to racers in the growing 1:8 Electric Off-Road racing category.

The speed controls weren't driving - Chris and Ryan were.

Better title:

LRP SPX8 Brushless powered cars win JBRL Nitro Round 7

If you use your argument then your better title is equally misleading because LRP SPX powered cars were still not doing the driving.

Should Ferrari never claim to win a race because the person driving them actually won?

Anyway, I am sure that you did not read the headline and think that an SPX was standing on the rostrum driving the cars :-)

LRP SPX8 Brushless Wins JBRL Nitro Round 7
reads as the Electric cars won the Nitro class
and not the Electric class at the Nitro meeting as it later says

That is a good point!

The JBRL runs a nitro series and an electric series. Both series will have round #7 and both series run a 1/8 electric class.

Saying ..."wins JBRL Electric Round 7" will be a lie. Saying "...wins JBRL Nitro Series Round 7" doesn't change anything. The assumption is that electric cars are racing against other electric cars and is state pretty clearly in the text.

I apologize if you were misled.

Saw the one on rctech too. now I am confused about the bec. Sounds like you have to wire the esc up different when using more then 2s?

They basically took a TC Spec and found out it could run a bigger motor on 4S lipos, which I've done many times with my ESCs, but I didn't have to use a external BEC or Rx pack rofl. They should know it's even capable of 6S as well since the MOSFET they use are 30V (From pics of the inside of a burnt unit).

I know its basically a TC. Just trying to figure out about the bec. From the post on rctech it sounds like it has to be wired differently if over 2s. They didn't say an external bec (really dont think anything marketed for 8th scale should need one now) just said you had to wire to some port.
