Well I didn't realize it was only 20 bucks a back for these.

I think I am going to pick up 3 or 4 of them along with the hextronic charger

Will the 2S/3S 5000 packs fit in a T3 or is there modding involved? I have an old Tekin speed control and an old trinity 12.5T brushed motor. Will it be safe to run 2S/3S lipos with this set-up or will I burn it up?

As soon as Hobby City turns mainstream like Orion and what not, LiPo prices will drop.

A lot.

I wish I could tell you if they'd fit or not. Never had the packs so I'll leave that to those with real experience.

3s is NO. 2s should be okay so long as you keep the gearing correct.

Anybody have any suggestions for gearing? All the gearing set-ups I found were with a brushless set-up.

I run same packs in my slash. They fit. Its snug, but not forceful.

Do you get 45 mins of runtime or closer to 30? I heard people saying 45 mins, but I find it hard to believe unless you are just messing around, when I bash I go wide open.

I get about 40 minutes of reasonable hard bashing. I've got a spot where its a lot of wide open running on gravel.

I went to a park with short gearing, 14/86 and just ran around the grass and trees, and got nearly got an hour.

I finally got my charger working correctly, and with the Acucell 8 at 7 amps, I went from LVC to full in 45 minutes.

Thus, I can just about run continuously as I can charge as fast as I can drain them.

Does that Turnigy charger plug into the wall? I can't stand all these DC only chargers.

Do you also have to set the MAH, how many cells, the charge rate, and type of cells? I just enjoy it so much more when I just plug the battery in and go.

I have an Accucel 6 and I think that they pretty much use the same programming.

You do need a DC power supply. You could always convert an old ATX power supply from a computer to run the charger.

With Lipo's you plug in the main charge lead to the battery and the balance adapter to the balance port. Chose either Fast Charge or Balance Charge, select the number of cell's, the charge rate and press go. Its very easy.

pedroroach is right.

Its a 12V charger, it'll run on anything from 10-19 volts. I also agree these DC chargers are a pain, since I have to find a 1:1 car to charge off, which means I also have to charge the 1:1 car.... So I'm charging a car to power the charger to charge the lipo. Stupid.

Don't have to program in mah, but there are some limits you can set. On lipo is very fast, plug in and hit go.

Nimh works pretty well too, don't have to say how many cells or the mv cutoff. You can adjust it, but once set it doesn't keep asking. It charged the heck outta my handheld vacuum.

Also charged my digi camera on it.

I'll be going the converted ATX route one of these days.

I have plenty of old ATX power supplies, any write-ups on how to convert it?
