I was talking to a person online, and he said that there was a difference between hp and bhp. I was wondering if that was true, and if so, what is the conversion for the two?

all i know is that BHP stands for Braking Horsepower and i think it has somthing to do with the way they test how much horsepower an engian has. they use a braking measurment for horespower and it is usaly lower then normal HP.
BHP is tested under loaded conditions. usually it is still higher than what it really makes, but BHP is much more acurate.

BHP is the actual horsepower the car has at the rear wheels. HP is the amount of horsepower the engine has itself. BHP is waht u want to look at. Like the novarossi has 1hp. That dosen't mean there is 1 hp going to the rear wheels. Hope that helps http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif.

I dont know about a R/C... but BHP is measured at the flywheel on a real car (by an engine dyno), and this is what most advertisers mention (since it is higher). Normal horsepower or RWHP (rear wheel hp) is the amount of power measured on a chassis dyno.
I would assume that its the same for R/C Engines.
