If i want bearings in a JPS Pro chassis what do i do?? does it include bearings??? Or will i have to buy a Clod buster bearing set?? It says in the Mod Clod Shootout 2 that it includes bearings for the cantilevers but do i need to buy them for the gearboxes?? How much torque would you reccomend for a servo?? Would Trinity Chamelion motors be good for a monster?? i want a fair amount of runtime......

I own a JPS clod so here goes.

I hope you know that besides the JPS chassis you will also need a Clodbuster kit to get your wheels, tires, gearboxes, etc. from.

The only bearings you get from JPS are for the cantilevers, and are preinstalled. For the Clod, Tamiya includes only four bearings for the axles. You will still need a set for the gearboxes and thats gonna run abou 25 to 35 bucks if not more. you will also need a strong servo with at least 60 oz in ot torque but preferably more, like in the 90 to 100 range, but the Hitec 605BB will do great.

If you plan on running anything but the stock 540s (what I run and they do great for climbing, afterall this truck isn't made to speed) you are gonna need a good reversing ESC. Novak Super Rooster or equivalent. for the stock mottor I run my Tekin Rebel and wire the motors in parallel and it doesn't even get hot, but when I threw in some Firehawks then it overheated in just a few minutes.

Also four good shock for the cantilevers. I use Duratrax 4" competition w/30 wt oil on mine and it handles very well.

And lots of modeling experience since the instruciotns are not for newbies at all, they leave a lot of stuff out, that you will need to figure out, like modifying the rear end to lock up, and where to drill for links, attachment bars, etc.

If you have the experience and the cash then by all means go for it. The JPS is of high quality.

I use two 2000mah packs wired in parallel to give me 4000mah of runtimne and with the 540s in parallel they run for well over 1 hour. No lie.

If you decide to get the kits and make the conversion, figure on blowing at least 600 bucks to get started. I had all the stuff I needed except for the JPS, Clod, and bearings, servo, and a new lexan body and I easliy spent that just getting it going. If you are starting from scratch, then figure around 800 and up to get all going, if you go as far as I did, and I;m not running special motors, or ESCs.
