How was the pede's speed with the clod tires?
I'm guessin' u did the glue the pede rims in the clod rims thing, how did you glue them to make sure the wheels did'nt wobble or anything like that?

I had a set mocked up, but ended up buying a set from K&J Monster Products because the picture that I've seen of his wheels looked a little different. Basically once you press the Stampede wheels inside the back of the Clod wheels they'll stay put and maintain alignment. It's almost as if they were designed to fit together. Just try it and you'll see what I'm talking about. You'll have to drill a large hole in the Clod wheel and so you can bolt on the Stampede part of the wheel. Then you can trim off the inside of the Stampede wheel to clean up the look of the wheel assembly.
Just maker sure the surface areas are clean before you epoxy them together.
The top speed was ok. It just took a while to get there. Just make sure you use a small pinion and a large spur gear. I forget which pinion I was using but it was the smallest available (12 tooth I think) and I used a 96 tooth spur. That was with an old 15x2 Revolution motor. My buddy had a stock Stampede and would leave me off the line but I could eventually run him down and actually drove right over him once (oops LOL).
I'm going to try a Magnetic Mayhem motor in it this winter. More torque and more run time.
Make sure you get a very high torque metal geared steering servo. I'm using USA-1 tires. As you probably read in the current issue of RCCA monter tire guide, they are the lightest tires and luckily they are also the least expensive.
