I have a new Tmaxx and its been great until I crashed it pretty good and broke the lower right front A arm, when I replaced that A arm I started the Maxx and it drove full throttle ( have no idea why ) into the bushes where it stayed in gear but the wheels did not turn so it stripped out the plastic gear ( spur? ? ) well I replaced that gear and with in 5 mins I stripped the new gear. I put in another one and was sure that it was aligned properly ( looks like there is no adjustment other than the spring tension ) and after 5 mins again I burned that gear also. I hear a high pitch screech ( like a belt on a car ) while it was running before it smoked the gear, is the spring too tight too lose or is something bent from the crash ? ? ? Please help any info would be great Im new to Tmaxx and Love it but have had alot of down time since the crash thanks in advanced for any help

It sounds to me that your Slipper clutch is set to loose. When the Slipper clutch is set too loose it practically melts the spur gear. Tighten up your slipper clutch tight and back it up about 1/6. That should solve your problems.
Hope this helps

hi i had same problm before with mine put new red pens in new new sper gear titen slipper all the way down back off 1/8 trun. now make sure u dont set gears to tite. after ajusting motor. spin gear with finger should spin relly free like 3or4 times around before it stops spining. reson because sper gear is not peficly round and it pushs gear back and forth and melts center out or go up in smoke. :D

If your striping out the teeth on your gear your gear mesh is probably out of whack. Check the instructions and adjust your gear mesh. Here is how I used to do it. First loosen the screws on your engine just enough to be able to move it. Next, take a piece of paper. Place it between the spur gear(plastic one) and the clutch bell that is on the engine. Push the two gears together tightly with the paper between them. Tighten you engine back down and the pull the paper out. This should set the mesh correctly, but check the instructions first!

right on ATEAM...

vandalizer .... when you crash the heck outta your T... the engine can shift.

After every day you run that thing.... RESET THE GEAR MESH.... I went through 4 gears before I figured that one out...

Yes,but it's probably the slipper clutch. It's probably the slipper because of the "high pitch" whine his "T" is making.
