I'm a newcomer to this. I'm currently a proud owner of Kyosho USA-1. I took it for a spin today over some sandy patches, grass, mud & little water catchment. Guess that's where my problem began! After going thru' some patches of water, my car just went haywire out of control intermittently! When I finally brought it back, I noticed the servor was having a "spasm" (involuntary movements) and I couldn't control the servor henceforth! After few hours of drying off under the sun, the servor do not respond at all. Please help. Also advice what is the appropriate book for novice like me. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/frown.gif

check the reciever. it might be that. is it an electric or gas? if its gas, hook up the steering servo to the throtle channel or vice versa and give it a shot. also, make sure you have a fresh pack and your transmitter has charged batteries. also, if its a nitro, make sure that no fuel has spilled onto the reciever or near the connecting wires, make sure your reciver pack is fully charged. also, take out the reciever and let it dry.
ill let you know if i think of anything else

Thanks very much for the feedback, Tadium54 & Krayzie.
Unfortunately, it's confirmed that the receiver is DEAD! I learnt that I could prevent water splashing into it by having a Kyosho protective rubber cap for the receiver; alternatively, I can also use a condom and tape up both ends. (WOW! Didn't know this hobby is expensive; and also breeds creativity!)
Could someone share with me how to identify if the batteries are weak? What is the voltage which is considered weak?
Thanks & Best Regards.....Happy New Year!
Sorry, this is like a pet peeve to me, its "servo" not "servor" sorry, couldnt resist. Anyway, its probably very likely your receiver. Most servo's are water resistant and hard to mess up, but it is a possibility.

the best way to test battery voltage is with a digital multimeter. there availabe at radio shack and other places. to be on the safe side if the voltage of the batteries get .3 volts below what they whould be recharge. since nicads charge up to way above their specified voltage it gives you plenty of run time

also, if you have some spare cash, hop the usa1 up to the project usa 1 in the newest edition of radio control car action. that could also help the car with alot of things(its only electric though, haven't seen a nitro one yet)
