I think that the starter in my MAXX has gone bad, I have only had it since X-MAS. When I try to turn it over it makes a noise, and the engine doen't turn over. If I take the glow plug out, the motor will turn over fine, because there is no compression on the engine. How much is a complete starter. Also I have had alot of trouble with the truck and I have been wondering if I could take it back and exchange it for another one.

sounds to me like the engine is hydolocked "flooded". dissconnect your fuel supply line, run the engine with the glow plug off until no more fuel spits out of the glo plug hole. the only way you could get an exchange for a whole new tmaxx is if it had a defect from the factory. what kind of problems have you been having?

Hey man I took the EZ starter on the motor off and a gear was stripped out. I have only had the truck a week and I have had problems like the tearing up 3 spur gears. Fouling 2 glow plugs, it will not start 7 out of 10 times, Clutch slips very bad.

im glad to hear im not the only ones whos new tmaxx is being a royal pain. my ezstart motor had bad connections from day one so sparks flew all around on the inside of the motor. my engine seems like it only starts when it feels like it too

When mine was new I had problems starting it to. First I kept flooding it, lucky I never stripped out any gears. My one way bearing was in backwards as well, once that was corrected, I was able to get it started and I just let it idle through 3 tanks before I messed with trying to drive it. Also, I had to reset my needles for it to run. The T MAxx was my first nitro truck, so the majority of the problems I believe were my fault, like the flooding. I have since removed that primer thing and sealed it off. Truck starts fine now, cept when there is a serious temp change.
