I'm on the south shore too :D

Too bad the track in Longueuil from RC Rive-Sud closed this summer...not enough people I think... I never been there (!) because I've been building a Nitro Evader ST for like 6 months now (spare time is hard to find when you have 2 little kids).....

The problem I see here is that it's hard to get a good RC store at a reasonnable price... when you compare with what's available on the Net, like Tower Hobbies or Ebay....

The only hard thing to find is nitro fuel at a good price... In the US, you can get a quart for about 6$...here you have to get a 4-liter for about 35$.

But the good part is that, where I live, there is field all around my house (1 km in the back, 1/2km in front)...so it will be cool to play on when I'm finished building my 'long-term' toy project.....

Do you know where are they hobby shops here other then Hobbyville on Decarie?

Any places people meet on weekends with R/C's? Race tracks around?
I know people used to meet in the St-Eustache Canadian tyre parking lot...

You can get fuel or anything you want at St-Roch-de-L'achigan, just take the 25 North.

There is also www greathoobies com, you pay just 1 tax and fast shipping.

Unfortunately, there is not too many LHS in Montréal, Québec is more appropriate.

Hope this help

That's what I did, I placed an order with Great Hobbies last sunday. Normally, I should get it tomorrow (09/29). Their prices are good, but their inventory is small, compared to Tower.... I'm currently looking for a replacment radio for my Nitro Evader, and they only have radios over 100$....I only bash around, no races !!!!

Anyway, at least, I don't have to pay duties and the PST/TVQ on my order!

Thanks

Michel

I haven't heard of any clubs on the island. I'm part of a great club thats has its own outdoor off-road track in Boucherville. The club is called Club Teleguider Varennes, check our forum here http://www.teleguidevarennes.info/forum/ and introduce yourself.

We were a total of 30 members last season and the membership is increasing for 2007. We have organized races in Monster Truck, Buggy and Truggy every 2 weeks during the summer.

A group of us also go to LaTrack Racing in Longueuil to race 1/18 and 1/10 carpet touring.

We have a blast together and we keep things super relaxed.
