Hobbytown USA off of Broadway runs on-road races in a K-Mart parking lot on Saturdays. I live in Abilene now but I get to SA about once a quarter. I still have a house there near 1604 and Marbach. There is also a nice little hobby shop off of Highway 90 and Military drive. It is hard to see from the access road but it is in the corner of the building. The shop is small but they too have races. I can't wait to get back to SA so I can start racing.

Hey, I'm in SA, I live in Schertz. I been to K-Mart and hobbytown and seen their races, but they wouldn't let me race my GTX so I'm gettin a T-maxx, since they are so popular and they have to make a class for it! Do you guys know of any off-raod tracks nearby?

The only offroad track in the SA area I know of is in Georgetown north of austin. I own the offroad track in Rockport but it's 2 1/2 - 3 hous from you.
Cool, do you happen to have a T-Maxx you would want to trade for two Losi GTX's? Here is a link to the thread and if you are wise, you will look at it, it is pretty impressive!!

I believe they have an outdoor offroad track here. I haven't been there yet myself but have seen photos of some track on their website.

Yeah, I checked out the shop and track around 4pm myself. Nice track...just needs a little drainage. I'm not ready to hit it just yet anyways so it was overall a good experience for me. HEH....I think my old RC10T with the 1700 battereis wouls last maybe 2 rounds with the size of that track.

San Antonio has one of the only permanent R/C drag strips in the world also. Its about 10 minutes or so from Toys 4 BB track. Out on I-10 Trainer Hale exit. We run 1st 2nd and 4th Saturday every month. Any car can run in the bracket class as its a handicap starting system with a full tree and timing. Lots of people win bracket with electric and nitro rustlers MT's pretty much anything that is consistant from run to run can win. We still give out trophys for 1st and 2nd place. 8 bucks to run bracket 10 bucks to run top fuel. www.sadragracing.com is the website. The map is in the news section. Here is a picture of the track at the recent IMDRA World Finals race.

Come out and try it out sometime. Its a lot of fun and a great bunch of people to race with. Just watching the top fuel cars do the 132 ft 1:10 scale strip in 1.6 seconds at 80+ mph is worth the trip. N-Control in Austin is probably the closest track if you want to travel a bit. Nice track and they run off-road and dirt oval. www.ncontrolrc.com .

Is this on the East side outside of 410 or further out past 1604??

Its trainer hale exit past 1604 by about 4-5 miles. I come from Marble Falls so I hit 1604 from 281 then head back up I-10 to get there. Its two exits from the real dragstrip so if you see the big one you have gone too far. Right after you see the city limit sign you will see some big fireworks signs on the right side of the interstate. Trainer Hale is right there. You have to turn back to the right on the 2 way access road for about 100 ft to get to the entrance gate. We run every Sat except the 3rd Sat generally. Check the website www.sadragracing.com for the schedule. Also we have a thread on www.rcfiles.com which is a primo r/c race forum in Texas. You can find out all the in-Texas stuff going on there.
