Createx Paint

In one of Bob Hanstings’ replies, he said that he sometimes supplemented Fascolor paint with Createx Paint. Does anyone out there use Createx on Lexan? Is it the Createx Auto Air paint? Does it work as well as Fascolor? It is certainly cheaper. You can get an 8oz bottle for about the same price as 4oz of Fascolor.

I also use the Createx Auto Air paints on my lexan bodies. I usually double up on the catalyst and bond-all and thin it just a little with water. I like the results. There is a good choice of colors as well.

where are you guys getting cretex and what is the stuff you put in it and to what ratio.

You can get Createx Paints at an art supply store, some craft stores or the local University bookstore in the art department. The catalyst and bond-all should be available wherever the colors are sold.

I really like those Createx Paints!!! No more lacquer smell!!! painting up here in the Northeast in the winter can be a problem. This was the answer for me. I made a Spraybooth out of a very heavy cardboard box (about 2' square) with furnace filter material to catch the overspray and an Exhaust fan in the back. It works great and i can paint any time now without stinking up the House.I use both Auto Air and regular Createx and it sticks well to the Lexan. Great selection of colors.

if you need to know,the fascolor paint is basically the same as the createx paint.the regular createx which can be gotten in any art supply store can be sprayed as is.you dont need to use the auto air stuff.been using the createx for years with no cracking or flaking problems.
