Hey everyone,
I'm about to paint my first lexan body and need a little advice. First I am experianced with an airbrush and that will be my tool of choice. My problam is I'm new to pactra paints what is the proper thinning consistancy 2 to 1 for example. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks skypags

I've heard great things about FASKOLOR. Just thin it to your application with water, and spray at about 40psi. Im not too familiar with pactra though, but for a good tape. Buy the REALLY good masking tape, it wont leak through which will totally ruin your body.

Im pretty sure you knew this, but dont paint on the outside. My friend did it once, and he aquired the nickname......I cant say it, too bad for this forum. Maybe we'll think of another nickname thats more appropriate and ill post it...

Yeah, I reccomend Faskolor paint, too. It is water-based, which makes it very easy to thin and clean up when you're done. It's made by parma. Here's a general rule for painting lexan bodies: always paint darkest colors first and lightest colors last. This will prevent the darker colors from bleeding through the lighter ones.

I prefer Pactra over the Faskolor paints.

To thin Pactra paint I usually just add thinner right to the bottle of paint with an eye-dropper. I couldn't tell you the ratio, but I don't think it is anywhere near 2-1, maybe more like 4-1 or less. I just add thinner until it is the correct consistency to be used in my airbrush.

Also, use a very good thinner, the cheaper stuff will turn the paint to goo.

Thanks alot for the tips. I believe I'll give both paints a try to see which one I prefure.
