I just got one of the Craftsman air compressors for my B-Day (yesterday). I broke it in like the instructions said. Do you actually have to have the compressor engine running while you spraypaint? I got a 15 gallon drum to hold the air. How do you fill it with air? The instructions said that it will automatically turn off when it fills, but I dont trust it (afraid its gunna blow up). If it really does turn off, tell me, but I dont want it to blow up in my face, I beleive that would be kinda painful...

dont worry it wont blow.it has a saftey shutoff that keeps it from doing so.anything can malfunction.but it is very unlikely.i would not worry to much about it.never had a prob with mine

Don't worry it will automatically shut off. Does it have a pressure regulator built in? If not you'll most likely need one to make sure you're running at 35-40 psi (assumming you're airbrushing with it). Let the tank fill all the way with the pressure adjusted to 0 psi. Once the tank is full then just adjust the regulator until it allows the proper psi to enter the airline. Don't try and adjust the regulator first because I don't know about your compressor, but mine will hold up to 120 psi and that's enough pressure to blow the air hose on an airbrush. Good luck!

Don't worry, it won't blow up. If it is like my craftsman there is a brass relief valve next to the regulator. It is held shut with a spring but will open up in the event of an over pressure situation. I have never had it blow open, though I have pulled it open my self to drain the tank of air a couple times. Your compressor will probably cycle on at about 80 psi and cycle off about 120. You can leave it on or off when you airbrish. The 15 gallon tank holds plenty of air to run an airbrush. I leave mine off, just so it does not come on and stir up any dust while I am painting.

Thats everything I needed to know, except, how do you really fill the tank with air? Just close the drain the air/water thingie and turn it on auto and let it turn off by itself? This airbrushing thing is really confusing.

turn it on and leave it till it stops, takes about a min.

open the valve on the regulator until it's right for the airbrush, and it's ready
