plastic colors

im no longer a rc car freak but was wondering if i could lean back on you guys for some help in a motorbike that im currently bringing back to life.
what i need to know is that i need to know the process of plastic dying.
i have some side mirrors that are looking a little sad and im trying to stay away from painting them, and i sort of remember reading an artical years and years ago in rc car action on the process but years have taken its toll on my brain and have forgotten how it was done
so any help would be appeciated

use fabric dye such as rit fabric dye from ur local wal-mart, boil watar and than turn off the heat and drop the dye in. put the plastic part in watar, the longer u keep it in the water, the deeper the color will be.
