I also have an aztek/testors airbrush and I love it. It's really easy to use and clean. I have the 320 which is a single action, but it sounds like the 470 might be the one you're looking for. It costs around $80 or so and it's a double action brush. The iwata airbrushes are very nice too.

The airbrush I have is an internal mix. I use a huge craftsman compressor. It's a little exessisive for airbrushing, but I already had it for use with air tools. Walmart has nice smaller oiless compressors for about $90 or so. Personally I prefer faskolor paints. They don't chip easily, they clean up w/ water, and you can dry them in between coats w/ a hair dryer so you don't have to wait long between coats (this is actually recommended by parma to help the paint set).

This is from an article on painting I am writing for a web site...

Airbrushes and Compressors
Just a few words about equipment for airbrushing. Every painter has his own favorite airbrush. When I was looking for mine, every one in every LHS I visited showed me the Badgers Passche’s, Iwata’s and Testors ranging from $35.00 to $100 plus. Without exception, everyone said the Testors was the easiest to clean and change colors on. I wanted to paint not spend time cleaning and changing airbrushes so I bought the Testors A4709. Its their top of the line airbrush. It’s extremely versatile , produces excellent results and is as easy to clean and change colors with as their cheaper brushes. This set comes with a range of tips and paint cups for almost every application.
http://www.testors.com/Product.asp?product%5fid=A4709

I use an Aztek A3205 for one of my back up airbrushes. It's single action, but simulates dual action. I like it a lot. It's super easy to clean and change colors with. The different nozzles give you different spray patterns in addition to being able the brush adjustments.
http://www.testors.com/Product.asp?product%5fid=A3205
It runs about $50.00 in stores and is a more then adequate airbrush to use with R/C Cars. Eventually, you'll want multiple brushes, but this is an excellent one to start off with. In fact, for $10 more, Testors sells this kit with a bottle of compressed air so you can airbrush right away. Beyond that first bottle, I do not recommend using canned air at all. One will only last about 1 body if your lucky. By the time you bough 10 to 15 bottles, you would have paid for a good air compressor with a moisture trap.

The only down side that I can find to the Testors system is that it is expensive in the long run. Because of the molded needles they use, it’s easy for the needles to become clogged. You need to be meticulous about cleaning your airbrush and needles at the end of a session. I found this out the hard way with I managed to clog an entire set of needles because I cleaned up to fast. If you can, try a few different airbrushes to see which ones you like.

You will also need a compressor. Stay away from most hobby air compressors. You want a compressor able to produce between 25 and 70 psi because the Parma Fascolors require that much power to spray the acrylic paint and that usually means getting something in the ½ HP range instead of the typical 1/8 HP most hobby compressors have. The air compressor I use as a 1/2hp airbrush compressor with a one gallon tank. I got mine from http://www.pumatools.com. The air compressor is one of those few products and companies in which buying it and owning it has been a complete pleasure. They are great people to do business with.. That being said, were I to do it all over again, I’d go to Puma, Sears or Home Depot and get an all purpose air compressor, one that can fill car tires, drive a nail gun, etc. The good news is that these air compressors are more powerful, cost less and with a $25.00 moisture trap and pressure regulator they spray just as nicely as any airbrush compressor. YOU DO NEED a moisture trap or moisture will accumulate in the compressor and spit out paint blobs. While some compressors do not come with a tank or reservoir. I highly recommend them because they even out the air flow and stop the spray from pulsing.

Does the $100 include the compressor? If so, your SOL. If not, I got an Iwata HP-CS for $89 at www.dixieart.com (http://www.dixieart.com) . You know how they all say Iwata is the best, and for $90, its good deal, spend the extra $10 on a hose for it. then pick up a compressor that can spray 70 psi consostantly, and if more, you can clean you car http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif Iwata, the best of the best.

I just bought a Aztec/Testors A430 and it came with 3 tips, two siphen jars, how to video, a gravity cup and a little wood case to keep it all in. It is an internal mix, my first internal one, and I have not had a chance to use it yet but it seems like it will be real good. It cost $84.99 at Hobby Lobby. I also got a compressor from Sears for $179 because I have been told to use a compressor that has an air tank or more than one piston to keep the air from "pulsing" through the airbrush. I hope this helps you know what is available.

I forgot to mention that the Airbrush Body comes with a Lifetime Guarantee as long as you don't disassemble the brushes body. By the way you don't need to take it apart to clean it according to Aztek/Testors.

I recently bought a new air brush. I got the Paasche VL-Set Air-Brush Set. I found it at the Northern Handyman store for $59.99. That is $10 cheaper than tower. If there is a northern or similar discount tool type store in your area check them out first. Michaels Arts and crafts wanted over $100 for the same set.

Some aircompressors do not need to be oiled, therefore they are oilless. The one that I've heard they have at Walmart is made by Campbell Hausfeld and it costs around $100 or so. Hey I noticed u r in Ellicott City, MD. That's only like 15 min. from my house. You should come over and we'll do some backyard bashing sometime. Sound good?

I use the Paasche single action and a badger cyclone II air compressor.

I'll tell you, the Paasche airbrush rocks, best brush I've ever used!

grandmasterofpool - What do you mean when you say "oiless air compressor"? I was at Home Depot and saw some air compressors, but all of them you needed to put oil into the case, to keep things lubed internally I'm sure. Could you expand a little further please.

Car_Head12,
The box also has DA4308 on it. I think that is the number for the "Kit". The kit includes a hinged wooden case with cutouts for the included items, the airbrush, three tips, a gravity cup, and one 28mm and one 33mm siphon bottles. Oh and it has a tip/cleaning tool and air supply hose. So far it functions as designed. It is my first internal mix airbrush so I couldn't compare it to any other similar brush. The only trouble I have had so far is thining the paint. I am not sure how to thin water wash-up Acrylic Enamel paint. The paint that I am using is old which might explain why the airbrush thinner just floats on the top. Don't know for sure though. Please realize that the brush isn't the problem. The problem is the loose nut operating it. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
I think that I mentioned that it cost $84.95 before taxes before.

Have you ever heard of micro mark? They have a lot of airbrushes. Mainly Aztek and badger. Also try to get a compressor that shuts off when you dont have the airbrush running. Others just constantly run. You will pay extra for an auto shut off but this way you wont constantly hear it running.

it seems that people like whatever they got... but anyways im gonna go for the A430 because it sounds like its gonna work best for me... as for the air compressor i think im gonna go down to home depot and seee what they got, cause i dont want to buy an air compressor online.
