This Thread will be for us Utah County racers and so that maybe we can drag some of you Salt Lake guys to an outdoor track.
I think that it is safe to say that we have the largest track in Utah. I don’t know everyone else's dimensions but our track is about 40 x 90. We didn’t try to pack a tight track into it with as many lanes as possible it is an open track with a lot of jumps. The track will be a great place for Electric and Gas racing. The smallest width on the track is 10 feet wide. I will post pictures and a race schedule sometime in the next week.
If you have any questions in the mean time, ask away

So, Corey, you have the thread, now where are the peeps? :D

ROACH > How much you gonna charge us to race out there? Does the track get alot of people, so there is enough classes? How many people on average, and one other thing. When are the races held? Just curious man, I am really looking forward to getting out there.

I think I am the only one on here. :( That's ok This is more or less to let you, Brian, Derek and the few shadow dwellers know about what's happening down here.
Well we had a good turn out for down here which is about the same as a bad turn out up there. The track is fun, but far from done. It rutted and sanded out. One guy tried to run paddles but his truck died. We are looking for ways to harden the track and probably have to sweep the top layer(2 inch's) off.
Well I would say thanks to the guys that came out but I don't think there are any on here. Well SLC guys I will get you down here someday. Brian I am trying to think of a solution for you and our drivers stand, Ill think of something.

Yeah definetely Corey, you gotta figure something out for Brian. You know I never thought or cared about wheelchair accessible things for people, but now that I know Brian, I can feel for him. I hate that there are places that don't have wheelchair access. Ohh well you'll figure it for him and other's. When you coming up to SLC to race Corey? Later's man, keep us posted what is going on down there.

Who knows when I will be racing up there. The thing for me is I got no time and no money. :) And for me to race down here it is free. If I can get the supplies to do it I think I have a way to make the stand wheelchair accessible. Like I have told Brian money is the problem.

Corey,
Find out exaclty what you need to make the stand accesable. Then talk to the local hardware store and explain what you are doing. explain to them that you are a local business and what you are trying to do. Maybe trade some advertising space for a discount. As for time and labor, I think that if you talk to the local racers that race there you could get some volunteers. I've seen this done more than a dozen times at different businesses so it's not an uncommon event. Another option would be to find a boy scout looking for an eagle project. Hope these ideas help.

Hey yeah! Good idea sammy.
Corey, i have heard of people putting concrete(just the dust, and a light layer) over their tracks to harden it up. You are right, that place gets very rutted and sandy! So, when are the racing times, cost, days, etc.
Also, what time are you guys usually done at?
Thanks bro.

For the track, I would just try to keep watering it down. the problem with soda or cement dust is that if it is as bad as you say( 2 inches of dust ) you will make a crust with dust under it.
My lhs just tore up the Cactus Classic track and they had a lot of trouble with the dirt being dusty. a few days of heavy watering and it is close. they were watering for 2 hours a couple of times a day. I know, a real pain, but that was what it took. since it isn't 110 in Utah (I hope) you shouldn't need as much water.
my 2 cents, at least. Good luck with whatever you try. I am sure there are other options.

So is this track up and running still? I'd like to check it out sometime. There is a lack of tracks in Utah.
