So, how was it? Motocross was pretty cool. HOLY CRAP, though, there were hotties EVERYWHERE! If you weren't there, you missed out... :p

I got my Calc 3 test back today. I got 92%, which was one of the top grades in the class. I'm pretty happy with it, especially considering I only did half the homework. :D I just took my Art History final, too. I did way better than I thought I would, too. That class SUCKED! Beware if you think about taking it.

Hmmmm, how did that get past my friend, the net nanny? Anyways, I did not even make one qual, and there were only 8 races. I broke my car in half, including my body also   But my dad bought me a new GRAPHITE(thats right, read it and weap) chassis, it was more like a 50 dollar kick in the joules, but you get my point. and YES, i have to pay him back for it, but my car has no more flex, and it is considerably lighter. I donated my chassis to the wall. but I got 6th out of 7 in the A-Main, without even making a qual, that is right, LOL. Murph and i got into a hack fest at the start of the race, 3 laps into it, we got lapped  I wish he would have not have gotten so physical, made me mad. I pulled away second half, and beat him.

Well, how about you pick up a dirt car, and come race it with us? LOL, seriously though, IR/CR has an on road track, with oval, they will be doing trophy races also, so why not make one then? Or do you just want to stick to carpet?

Honestly, i heard that they have a crappy track, that it is very tight, and the kind of carpet that you would use in a school building, meaning, no OZITE track.

Hey Idaho guys, RCMother herself posted a list of 6+ trophy races (onroad and off) coming this year at TTT, but the thread mysteriously vanished. I suggest you e-mail her. It might take a while, but she'll answer you. One thing's for sure, they need a real webmaster!

Who's going racing tomorrow? I am!

Sorry no replies lately, and no racing the that past week and a half. Finals are just killing me, so much to prepare for. I did get an A in my writing class though, so I think I will finish this semester with about a 3.1 GPA. Anyway, I will unfortunetly not be able to attend the race tonight. I have so much to study and so little time.

Come on, boys, let's go racing! I was the only guy who wanted to race stock truck. They said I had to race mod truck, but I didn't have a mod (and I've never used one) so I ran Novice. That made me feel dirty. eeeewwww!! Let's get some turnout, boys!

WHERE ARE YOU, DEREK? You're coming Saturday. You have NO choice!

Dang man, NOVICE? Yuck...... I feel your pain, probably the only good thing about that was that you only had to pay 2 bucks less than it would have cost you to run stock :D So, did you win, or did you pass it over to let the little guy win? Like i said before, i will get out there more on wednesdays this summer, when i can. I have not been on chat for a few days because i have been super busy, sorry roach, but yeah, bri, you need to get on there sometime.

Man, I think that this BB is hitting that stage again where i just do not care to post anything, i did like 2 times, that is it, it is one of those 'junk weeks'. Earlier this week, i found myself having PMS(PinataManSyndrome) where i was just annoyed with the crap that was on, i mean, easy questions, or the ones where you have no idea what the heck the kid is talking about, i think it is time for me to probably take a little bit of a break :)

Now that i have rambled on long enough....

Nairb
05-10-2001, 10:17 PM
PMS? LOL!! That's a perfect acronym, buddy. Thanks for putting it together. I'm afraid that'll become a staple of Nairb's vocabulary. :)

Of course I won all three novice races Saturday. I lapped everybody. I'm not bragging about lapping Novice; no way. I'm just saying that I would've had to try VERY hard to even get 2nd place. I just wasn't in the mood to spend some of my 4 minutes (1 less than usual, even) waiting for the kids to catch up. I was there to race, so I raced. Anyway, I never got all 3 of my deserved wins when I was in Novice (I only won the A once, then I moved up), so I think I deserved to take another one. Next time this happens, I'll definitely race Mod.

Uh oh. I think it's time for a financial-restraint lesson. Why? First, I bought a new BAD-A$$ servo last night (Air 94357) for $111, but that was with cash from sold college books. This is the crazy thing I did. I bought a brand new XXX. Uh huh. For $250!! Actually, I got it out of the "used" case. It is brand new, though. The guy bought it and some hop-ups (I can't remember them all, it's still out in the van), and put it together. He never got as far as gluing the tires on. There's not a scratch on this thing. This baby is brand new. So I payed $250 for a newly assembled XXX, plus titanium turnbuckles, an extra pair of Holeshots (unmounted), a few pinions, and ALSO a brand new Warlock stock motor and an Airtronics 94737 servo. Oh yeah, the body is painted, too. I'd say it was a pretty good deal. I have over $3000 left on my credit card, but I don't want to go out and buy everything I want. It might be a while before I race it, but at least I have one now. Let's see, I need an ESC, receiver, BK bars, titanium screws (I gotta have 'em eventually), and some other stuff... This may take a while, but you never know. :D I'm waiting until tomorrow before I sneak it in the house without my parents seeing it. They may not approve...I don't want to upset them. ;)

Who's racing Saturday? I'm gonna go early and check out the on-road action.

I officially broke only 1 axle roll pin and toasted 1 diff gear. At least I didn't fly into the wall or a pole like some other people I know... ;) I'm curious to see how much faster my new mods are going to be. I think they should be faster for sure. Yeah, on Saturday, we had 10 races, but back in winter, we were having waaay too many(which is a good thing) and it was nice when i would not get home until 12:30 AM or later, we would have about 120 racers there, and it was a blast!

I am still getting the ropes on Stock Buggy, but i am getting better, though last week was a joke, i won the B-main, but man, it was Novice racing IMO, the people that i raced were craptacular, except for Ron(who got DQ'd, lmbo, those there know why). It got pretty ugly when lap traffic did not move over(well, just one kid) after having the track owner, and marshalls telling him to move it over, so i did something that is all to new to me, hack, on purpose too, i put him right into the wall on the back straight, i did not feel good about it, but it still needed to be done.

This track configuration, i will not miss, what do you all think? I like the bite that we are getting out of it though.

Nairb, that was below the belt with the mod motor and wall thing

Also, ammo, there are a lot more guys at Trinity Trash Talk, but us few guys like this BB better.

Triple Xer > No I qualed 7th in a-main and got 6th. Jeff got 7th behind me and he qualed 1st. The reason is radio trouble. My steering would go complete right and throttle all the way and I was in the wall and all over the place. Someone must of had there radios on. And same thing happened to Jeff, but worse! He would go and then loose complete power (no motor) and so around 3 min he just pulled off the tracked and waited til it was over! Sucked so bad. Oh well though I will get it on WED. And by the way I killed everyone in stock the last time I raced and got a really nice larger than usual trophy. Ask NAIRB if you don't beilive. Later's man and you are doing very well in stock. That b-main win you were completely smooth pretty much. Right on Triple-XER, you rock! :)

But, then again, with summer, they have the On Road stuff to do, and last saturday, it looked like almost 10 races were held, and also, if they get enough people, they will run a 'Gear Box' class(meaning, Off Road stuff racing On Road, how cool is that?)

Ammo, just get some guys in your area to go race in front of Wal-Mart, or K Mart, somewhere, and go race, make flyers, with your LHS's name on it(get their discretion first of course) and you are bound to get a crowd, then you can hand out flyers, have some guys doing demos, and others answering questions, and of course, displays(letting them touch it, and see what it is all about) if you are brave, let them race one, with slow batteries and stuff, you may not get a track, but you can help out.

Also, bring along an RCCA, so they can see what other classes there are in RC, i have almost thought of buying an on road, and getting some buddies together, just to do this.

It's such a regular word for some of us, that we can't possibly drop it from our vocabulary at the drop of a hat. We don't even realize when we're saying it.

Tonight was fun. After a couple of hard battles with Chad (yes, I' serious), I ended up TQing and winning the main. The moral of the story: if you crash less in a stock class full of good drivers, you'll win. It was close for me because I stuffed it into the pole at the finish line at least 5 times in each race.

I may be going to Wendover for a friend's birthday on Saturday, so I may not be at the track. Let's get together and go to the race in Twin Falls, Idaho a week from Saturday. I think so far that Chad, Dan, and I are going. What do you say? Corey? Guys? I'm gettin' the info from Chad. It's just on Saturday, so you know.

xxxer,
you make some good points. We have a track that has been in the planning stages for months now. It is supposed to be i a huge parking lot but I doubt they ever finish it. After talking to the guy who is heading up the club/track there are a lot of "closet" R/C operators on base. I seem to be one of the few that will take my T-Maxx and RC10Ls to the biggest crowd of people to "show off" trying to get more interest. It is hard to get beyond the stigma that these are vehicles are NOT toys.

No racing for tomorrow, i need a break either way, you know, from getting my butt kicked :p

Also, just some cool info, My High School won both state championships for Girl's Softball(3 years in a row  ) and Boy's Baseball, they are both 5A division(the highest). If you ever read the newspaper, we have one of the best boy's baseball pitchers in the US, during the game, he averages 89-95 MPH  !

Bummer file: Our Soccer Team did not make it to finals, they lost yesterday to Jordan!(ugh, the rival school) and the previously-ranked #1 Brighton was beat by Bingham, so this year's state champs was a bllowout for the soccer title. My best friend is on the Varsity Soccer team as the keeper, when i picked him up today, i did not talk about it, nor did i even mention it at all today, he is usually pretty hard on himself.

Nairb, did you check out the on road action? Is it pretty cool?

Nairb
05-20-2001, 03:04 AM
Yeah, it was fun. Tony Huber sure is fast. He took all three races in stock truck. I was his closest competition, and I wasn't all that close. :) I ended up getting 2nd tonight. It makes me happy to hand Spike his buttocks on a platter, though. :D I used to think he was good. :p I beat him every time.

I didn't watch on-road today, but I was there when the last few guys were leaving. There was a lot bigger turnout today (compared to last week), because the TCS race is tomorrow at WVH. I can't believe these people who just show up for the big races. That really annoys me. :) I'm hooked and I can't NOT go. ;) See ya next time...

XXXER

Nice job brian, I know how that goes, after April Fool's, the turnout died, lemme guess, the Hardy bros raced today, right? Yeesh. Hey, when are you goin to get your buggy running? I had a dandy time watching my nephews last night, and i do not think i would have made it racing last night anyways, i was out cold at 11 PM(I stayed up til 3:30 on friday, woke up at 9, plus i had school on friday, i was burned out!)

So how was the track? Dry as ever? I know it will be the week after memorial, it always is.
Did Derek show his crack up to race? how did he do?

Nairb
05-20-2001, 10:23 PM
You mean Curstin and Nate? Yep, they were there. Where's the dedication, boys?

I'll get my buggy running as soon as i can get a C2 and an XXtra receiver. It'll be a while. :)

The track was great. No too dry, not too wet. Derek wasn't there, again. I think some boys need to get a job. ;)

I got to start busting my booty in school. I got all my info for what I need to do to transfer to the UofU computer science department. Man that is some hard stuff I have to take to get to that point. Ohh well though, at least I LOVE school. It is so fun.

Brian,
I noticed in the magazines discussion that you are looking for the nitro mag. Go to MRS Hobby in sandy. They have a bunch. Also, check out a letter about pipes from your's truly :)

Nairb
05-21-2001, 03:08 PM
Thanks for the suggestion, sammy. Can you give me the address of MRS hobby?

Your letter must be in the mag, eh? Nice. I'll check it out if you check out my pit tip in the July RCCA. :) I don't even know which one they picked yet...I guess I'll find out soon enough.

XXXER
05-21-2001, 06:07 PM
The Adress for MRS is, 7th East, and 94th south, i think, it is the same East as Jordan Commons, just a little more east of it, and it is in the little square with Denny's, it has yellow signs. When are you heading over? I can be there in 10 minutes you know......

It is pretty cool, no Losi stuff though, but they have Slot Cars! Which are a blast, but they are down stairs  And I am not sure if you should tackle those.

Yes, you passed 1300 before me, and i apologize for the chat thing, i was there, and my internet shut off, and my dad said pretty much, oh well, do not turn it on, act of god ;)

Sammy, i almost have Bruce's car together, i HATE HPI instructions, lowsy things are just pictures, no words, like my Losi kit. It is a breeze, all that is left is the radio plate + electronics.

EDIT: I use the stock yellow spur(82) tooth. I plan on getting an 84 so i can really gear lower, with a 20 tooth, it does not
quite reach as far as it could

XXXER
05-21-2001, 06:26 PM
What car needs a new engine? Bruce said that your 1/8 thumps! Is it for the Super Nitro? that is the only car that i would think of that needed one, what engine do you have in mind? Do you ever go check out West Valley Hobbies? I should see if i can pull bruce downt there, so he can get some gas, that thing will be done by this weekend i tell ya!

sammyh71
05-21-2001, 11:17 PM
I'm replacing the HPI .15 FE in my super nitro. I liked the O.S. .12 CV-R that I have in my MT Racer that I'm going to put one in the super. Bruce is bad luck!!! The only time anything has ever gone wrong was when Bruce was watching. Friday my glow igniter died when he came out. Saturday I fouled a plug then lost the retaining screw that holds the carb in. These things only happen when he is around. Anyway, light a fire under his butt would ya? He needs to get that thing going.

Brian. did you get a copy of Nitro yet? Are you going to make the switch to nitro?

Nairb
05-22-2001, 12:56 AM
Yeah, I got the mag today. Sorry, I didn't realize you had posted here about possibly meeting me there. I saw part of the slot car track and itwas pretty dang cool, but those damned stairs are right in the way... What a pain. Because of that, I won't be going back unless I have a VERY good reason.

Sammy, I'm gonna read the mag, but I'm sticking to electric R/C until I'm filthy rich enough to afford the gas stuff I want. I had to get this mag so I could read about the twin engine T-Maxx, 4 stroke GT, and SteveP's 1/5 scale racer. They all sound so dang cool I couldn't miss them.

Hey, I'm gonna check out the specs of this awesome little power supply I have sitting around. I don't think it'll be enough for a charger, but it might turn out great for breaking in motors. Speaking of motors, I got my two new mods all soldered up and ready to go. Woohoo, this oughtta be fun! Anyway, the PS is one I made in my High School electronics class. It's pretty sweet and I'm pretty proud of it. I just hope I can use it for something.

Cool. I checked west valley hobby the other day. The only fuel they had was 30% racing fuel. Not what Bruce wants. They have some HPI 20% at MRS. Tell him to go get some of that. That is what I ran in my Super nitro (same engine). SPeaking of engines my new one should be in. I found a cool place out by my house that will be perfect for running my MP-6 and NMT Racer. That's the plan for tomorrow. I got my MP-6 fixed and the battery packs are charging right now. Now that you've built a nitro you need to make the switch :D Later

Hey! bruce said that you were out of town! Either way, i had him get some 16% Trinity Monster Horsepower, i had him get 16 because i thought 20 would be a bit much with summer comeing along, and i am not sure what plug is in it(hot/cold/medium). We got through the static break in, and one tank@ half idle. Should i start leaning it out, say a 1/16 of a turn? I have a feeling this thing is going to move! And the engine is surprisingly reliable(started the third pull, and idled teh whole tank). We have yet to stall it, and it starts the first pull, without a real effort. Also, Doug practically told me that i am what he is looking for(he had a help wanted sign, i pick up an App on tuesday). He knows me, and said I am what he is looking for. All i have to say is---- BONUS! :p

Hope to meet you sometime.
Steve

sammyh71
05-28-2001, 07:37 PM
16% is good for that engine. Trinity makes good fuel thats what I'm running now only 25% The .15 FE is a great little engine. Since you won't have to fiddle with the low end adjustment, all you have to do is tune it on the top end speed. Make sure blue smoke is coming out. Start leaning it out only in small increments. Listen to the engine when it opens up. The drawback to that engine is the heatsink (or lack of a decent one) Since bruce won't be racing anytime soon reliability is more important than perfomance. I took both of my off-road cars out today. I'll be ordering parts tomorrow  Actually the only thing I need is a new spur gear for my MP-6. There aren't any teeth left on this plastic one. Gotta get me a metal one. Good luck with getting that job

XXXER
05-28-2001, 08:07 PM
Well, i was running it all over today while bruce was putting up his fence LOL. I am keeping it fairly rich, but there is sufficient amount of blue smoke, also, We have almost gone through a liter bottle already! There is 2 1/2 tanks left or so in the bottle. I am having a problem with havig good brakes, while not flexing the throttle arm a lot, that is all. The brakes are less than sufficient right now, i think i need longer fuel tubing where that little piece is, if you take a look at it tomorrow, it would be appreciated.

Sorry, I'm mjust sick of BBs. I'd rather just use AIM nowadays. This is my experience:

Yeah, Idaho was fun at times, but also very frustrating at times. First of all, I HATE wearing out a set of brand new Holeshots in 3 freaking runs. These babies are BALD. That annoys me alot. Second, the jumps were cool, but most of the ramps were pretty much non-existent and insufficient for the huge air we'd get, especially off the big jump over the straightaway. That jump wreaked a lot of havoc, on my truck especially. I never break big stuff, but I broke 3 things (both front arms, one at a time, and the rear T plate). Third, I HATE wearing out a set of brand new Holeshots in 3 freaking runs. I wore out two brand new pairs of tires in one race day, and I didn't even get to race all my qualifiers.

In stock, my first run was crap because my motor decided not to work. The second Qual was totally missed because I discovered my broken T-plate on the way to the drivers stand. The third Qual was a joke because I discovered a severely cracked a-arm on the way to the stand; it didn't last past the first turn. So after zero decent qualifying runs in stock, I was put in the C-main. How embarassing. At least I won it with my spare motor.

Mod truck was where the carnage took place. My square fuzzies didn't hook up worth a crap in the first qual. I missed the second qual because I was fixing my T-plate or something. The third qual was the first fun I had all day. I had my new Holeshots on, had just finished replacing an a-arm, and didn't have time to throw in my mod, so I raced it with my Warlock stock motor. It was nice. I kicked some butt on those overpowered trucks. I ended up beating some guys and I got 6 laps like most of the others out there. So in the A main I was kicking butt, until I snapped another a-arm. I finished the race with 3 wheels, but not on the podium. Oh well...

I had a little fun...but I'm not too worried about getting back up there, soon or not. : )

Well, sounds like you had a great time on the track  But i still wish that i could have gone, sounded like fun!

How was it watching the Gas Races? I know it has got to be so loud!

I went the MRS today, and they took down the Help Wanted sign, Doug or Linda were not there to talk to, so i will head in again tomorrow... But, i did place an order for Shock Cartridges, and a Lightened Top Shaft dealy, so that will be cool, been a while since i have bought anything i did not need :p

Well, what about everyone else? How did you guys stack up?

While at MRS, i did take a look at the Panther Tires(they had a few kinds) And i really like the way a pair of these Truck tires looked, they looked just awesome, for our track, almost like Tapers, but a little different, looked like it would give more side bite, and the compound would be an experience(Super soft, Med soft) But all together, I liked them! They also had some Buggy Front tires that had like 5 ribs, that were low profile ribs, I might look into a pair of those...

Nairb
06-12-2001, 01:55 PM
Steve, I really don't know about racing with any of those Panther tires. They're all just weird copies of existing (and proven) stuff, except for the funky buggy fronts. Try them if you want, but realize you're taking a chance. That's extra risky when you're low on dough for this kinda stuff...

My truck's gonna be all ready for action tomorrow. It's already cleaned up (can't stand that durt & dust...), and I'm almost done repairing. Who's going Wednesday?

Man, that was FUN! It's always fun to lay the smack down on the stock class... I finished 2nd with 14 laps in the first race, and that was my worst one. The second race was when I opened a can. I finished 1st with 15 laps and lapped the whole field; TQing is kinda fun. ;) In the main it just got better. I lapped the whole field again and finished 1st with 16 laps. I definitely feel I've redeemed myself after a dismal weekend race. Ahhh, success... :)

I'm happy with 16 laps, but 17 is possible. After all, the track is very loose & not packed enough yet. I'm confident that I can pull out 17 in the right conditions. The track is pretty cool. I like it. Its only real jump section is a small tabletop followed by a double; it's about in the middle of the track. The track isn't necessarily flat, though. BTW, nicely done racing, sounds like you are having a good time, Stock Truck points leader! Did you beat Chad?

Corey, I am not sure man, i need to get the job first! http://www.plauder-smilies.de/party/dance.gif I am confident in getting it though. My guess is that Losi is going to soon release a KE type Truck, but, if that does not come to soon, then i will be interested in it, but if you do have someone make an offer, let them have it, it is cool with me. http://www.plauder-smilies.de/cool.gif

Where are you headin off to? Sounds like it will be for a long time. Still do not know when i will be able head out to Vision, but i will race there at least once. Is the track good and ready for me?

Tonight was awesome! It was all good, except when my brand new MVP self-destructed in 1.5 runs. No worries, though. My freshly rebuilt Chrome was fast as heck, and proved more than adequate to lay the smack down with. (Hey, there's and idea..."TEAM SMACK?") Some real competition showed up tonight (a full 8-9 truck heat) and I was wondering how well I'd do against them. There was no need to worry, though. Who were the more competitive guys I was worried about? Oh, Mike Wood, Skyler, and some guy I don't know (he was fast, though). In the first qual, I finished second (behind Mike Wood) with 15 5:00. In the second qual I finished third with 16 5:18. I ended up third qualifier in stock. The top 3 all had 16 laps, and 4th was over a lap back on the pace. The main was when I pulled out all the stops. In the first minute, Mike and I were fighting for the lead. I crashed, then caught him. Then he crashed, and there was no looking back. I was never challenged again. :) I ended up lapping everybody but second & third (6 seconds away from lapping him, Dan), and that includes Mike Wood & Skyler. Needless to say, that made me feel pretty dang cool. My truck is so dialed! I love this track design!

See you Wednesday!

Just for the record, I won again last night, but it was tough this time. Mike Wood led most of the race, but I was right behind him most of the time. We both had a pretty good race, but I was able to take the final lead on the last lap. Once again, 1st & 2nd lapped everybody else. It was a fun night.

BTW, I used my Holeshots on the front, too. They make the front end smoother, big time. I practiced with them 3 times, then raced the first qual with them, but I decided to try my directionals for the second qual. Big mistake. I was SO not used to them. My truck was way twitchy (lots of steering), and I ended up only getting 15 laps because I had to be so cautious. I threw on the Holeshots again to practice before the final, and I was in heaven again. I could drive that baby as hard as I wanted, and it did just what I wanted it to do. That was the perfect confidence-booster for the main. I think these tires will be staying up front on my truck for a while.

Who's going Saturday? I'll be there with all 3 of my brothers. This should be interesting.

I do not think I will be going out to the track, until it gets changed, every race i was in was UGLY! I think that was the third time i have broken my car in a main.

Either way, i need to go pick up my order, and make another for some Suspension arms.

Derek, I couldn't get a hold of you Friday, by AIM or phone. Do you still have a cellphone? Can I have the number? I ended up watching the F and the F with Dave & Evan. It was pretty cool, I guess. How was Lagoon?

Well, the streak is over. I didn't win last night, it was tough. There were two full heats of stock truck for the first time in a while. I won my first heat, but my armature died during my second heat. I used that baby up; the brushes wore through ALL the copper on the comm, down to the plastic underneath. I ended up qualifying 4th, behind Mike, Tony & a Utah county guy (I don't remember his name, but he talks like he's g a y). I knew it would be a tough race because everybody in the A-main qualified with 16 laps and that should make it a cleaner race, too, but it wasn't. That was one CRAPPY race. It was WAY too nasty for the stock a-main. I got screwed a LOT, and ended up 5th or so. I don't know how they did it, but somehow 1st & 2nd (Mike & g a y-talkin-guy ;)) both got through the carnage and turned 17 laps. That's amazing...in a race like that. I got 15 laps for the first time in a while.

I hope Wednesday turns out better...

Oh No!!!!!!!!!!! The smacketh down has been laid upon the Nairbinator! What motor gave out? Your Chrome? How was that possible, that motor is brand new(well, close enough). I got my order in for my stuff, and it is all in my car. Is the track still junk to race on? If it is, I will not be out there any time soon... I am just going to be rebuilding my car up, you know, all that type of stuff, it is time i got my Ti's in, and i want some Losi black ball cups, i am not into silver, and RPM cups are too soft; I just decided to go with the Punishers, because in buggy, they do not take as much of a beating, and they have a package with Ti hinge pins(which, mine are looking nasty!) My ball cups are worn badly, so i figure, if i am going to replace those, then it is time for Ti. It also looks like i will be looking into some screws from Sir.

After that, it will be Equip that will get it, after a new body, because, i can't stand that red and yellow one, just not my colors.

Peace out ladies.

Yeah, my Chrome gave out. It should've lasted a LOT longer... I had problems with it in Idaho, so I tried extra stiff springs and the REALLY hurt the comm. That cut it down pretty hard & pretty fast. I had Jerrit cut it and he said it was probably my last cut; he was right. It was great for 3 race nights, but it finally pooped out last night. I hope my new armature comes soon.

Yeah, the track still has tons of rough areas around the outside. I'm tired of them, too. It's all because of that dang storm & leaking roof. I hope the next track design is more fun...

Have fun upgrading, dude. I've got MIP titanium nitride shock shafts & new o-rings ready & waiting for my next shock rebuild. What kind of discount do you get on electronics? Derek and I are curious. Also, be sure to tell Tim that you saw my screws and that's what made you decide to get them. I need to talk to him about stickers...

XXXER
06-24-2001, 11:04 PM
Of course i would tell him that i got them because of you! Hehe, maybe i can get him to sponsor ME (after i buy a set first) For my XXXT, if that ever comes.

About my Discount on electronics, it is probably the same, 30% off the MSRP(or, say, they are selling the C2 for 130, i would get 30% off of that.)

It was nice, after i bought the 4 shock cartridges, AND the top shaft, i got $6 off, so it only ended up being 14 bucks. hehe, i could get used to this.

They have some Dynamite hex wrenchesn there, that i really like, i am going to get the 3/32 and the 1/16, they are 7 bucks usually, but i will get them, for like, i dunno, 10 for the both of them. It is a tough job, but someone has to do it. The handles are big, and they have what looks like a good grip to me.

Sure, sure, get the Ti Nitride shock shafts, just to be the cool guy. Graphite, that is where the fun is baby yeah!

So did the cartridges come with the o-rings and stuff? I think I'm just gonna replace the o-rings and use the same cartridges when I go to MIP shafts.

Who's gonna go Wednesday? Derek? You guys probably aren't going to, huh? I might just race Mod truck or something. I don't want to keep using my buggy motor, and I've never tried my new Fury, anyway... This could be fun! Woohoo! :D

The second, unexpected package was a total surprise. Yours truly has a pit tip in RCCA TWO MONTHS IN A ROW. :D I got another coupon for six months of RCCA free, and another OFNA yo-yo. That's pretty cool. I hadn't even opened the August issue to see my name in it. I'm glad this tip is a much better one, and I thought of it all myself. :D

I guess I consider this my journal or something, because I seem to be talking to myself a lot & I just keep doing it. ;)

Last night was pretty good. I won. I got my best time so far on this track, but I was robbed of my 17 lap race. In the 2nd qual I got 16 in 5:00.85; I made at least two idiot mistakes late in the race that definitely cost me an extra lap. That was a very good race, but I think I can pull out a 17 lapper before they redesign the track.

Also, I think I've sealed my stock truck points series win; before the mains, I was 30 points ahead of second place (Chad) and he's not gonna catch me. It is SO sweet to win the points series the first time I'm in them. But hey, it's pretty tough to beat a guy who goes twice a week, every week, huh? :D All I can say is that I can't wait to see my name on that plaque. ;)

Derek, it sounded like you were going to race last night. What happened? I'm even more surprised that Chad didn't show up. Can you believe that!? I can't! He ALWAYS comes.

Nairb
07-01-2001, 10:23 PM
Stop? Huh? NEVER! :D

Racing was kinda lame Saturday. The track was way too dry (Dave & Teresa are gone...). Courtney put all 10 stock trucks in the same heat all night long, and that was a mess. Whoever was counting laps messed up two of my races (including the main). The track is PAST GONE; it is a mess! on the north west sections, you had to almost stop to avoid spinning out, exen after is was swept. Needless to say, we had loads of problems.

I qualified 3rd, but got robbed of a 2nd or 3rd finish (who knows?) by bad lap counting. It wasn't all that fun. The track is in serious need to rebuilding. They BETTER do it next Sunday!

Corey, how much are you selling your XXXT for, and what does it include? Evan needs a truck bad, and his mom is gonna buy him one. How was Scandinavia?

Derek, it's good to hear from ya, bro. Good choice on the Cyclone. Where'd you get it, ebay? I've heard that XXtras have already shipped to distributors, so that means my XXX could be up and running VERY soon! Woohoo!

I might race this week, and I might not. I'm not too excited about that beaten-up track ATM... I might just wait for the next design. TTYL, boyz!

Also, I have heard Rumors from some people that this weekend, at Mod Nats, Matt is running his new truck(yes, the FE). So, it looks like i have a lot to save for.

First, remote, then Ti, then servo, ESC, then batteries, motors, etc. Then a truck, and all the necessary things.

Wooooweeee, lots of things to buy, thank the man above for my discount!

Also, you guys know, if we combined both threads, we would have the second longest running thread, the XXX Forum, technically is the second. But, you know :p

I won stock truck (lapped the competition when I finally used my new tires), and I qualified 3rd in stock buggy. It was going well until Derek got taken out and I slammed into him on the straightaway, which resulted in both of us broken and out of the race.

You better come out and try it next week! It'll be gone after only two more race days...

Guys that track DOES ROCK! It was so fun. That sux I got taken out and BACK STRAIGHT didn't get called for you Brian. Maybe you could have avoided it. I am pretty sure it was Matt Green who took me out. He wouldn't get of my rear end for nothing. Then he locked into my rear and took us both into the wall near the end of the straight. Later in the race he was forced to end the race early, and I bet it was because he broke something or loosened something when he took us into the wall. My rear, left Suspension Mount (Hub Carrier) ripped right off the screw and that is what took me out.

That sux, but ohh well, there is next WED. THe track rocks so I am looking forward to racing it again... :)

Then Brian let's me borrow an MVP and it runs great. 2nd qual i got 5th but was only seconds from the guys ahead, except Jared who is just on FIRE. 3rd qual I was doing better and almost pulled into 3rd. Finished 4th and I am qualed 8th overall for the A-Main. Let's hope I can rock the a-main and pullout and UPSET cause if I get a podium finish against the likes of cliff, jared, digger, courtney (he is rocking) and Brian, etc it will definetely be an upset cause i am the underdog here. I am confident that I can, well just have to see and if I dont get a podium at least I can make the A-Main and do well. Later's guys.

Cool, Corey. I'm far from burned out. I just got sick of talking to myself on this thread, so I decided not to post here until someone else did. :)

I did great at Regionals and had a lot of fun. I've been ripping it up in stock buggy & mod truck ever since...

I might be there Saturday, but I might not, since it's Suzi's birthday. I'll talk to her tomorrow to see if we have plans. If not, I'll definitely be there.

Well it looks like regionals burnt out the utah boys. If any of you still read this who is going to racing on saturday? After a long break I think I am going to come play...

Dont know if I have tires or anything but I will be there to mess around. I'll have to see what the old T3 can do.

Hey guys, how have you been? Tonight was pretty fun. I only raced stock truck. There were only 5 heats tonight (!), but stock truck was full of competition. Let's see...there was me, Joel, Tony, Mike, Cody, Evan, Brandon and Chad. I did really well. I finished 2nd every time, behind Joel. I have NO IDEA how he does so well with freaking bow-ties! He sure rocked the house, tho. I did too, though; I was dialed like crazy with my square fuzzies. ;) I got 17 laps in the qualifiers; my qualifying time was 17/5:03. The main was sweet! I was in 2nd the whole freaking race, and not too far behind Joel. I spanked Tony and the other guys every time. :D Get this: I didn't get marshalled ONCE in the main. How does 18/5:14 sound?? :p I think it sounds pretty dang sweet. Now I've finally got 18 laps on this track with my truck AND buggy. FYI, I got 18/5:12 with my buggy at regionals.

Sorry, I just had to tell somebody. :D

Hey, they're going to redesign the track Sunday! I hope it's cool... ;)

So, tonight ROCKED! hehe I got 18 laps with my buggy TWICE! I almost got 18 with my truck again, but missed by 1 second or so. There was good competition in both classes again, so it feels pretty sweet to win them both! :p I was the only guy to get 18 in the buggy A-main (3 qualified with 18), and Davey Lindsay was the only guy to beat me in the truck A-main (you know, he pretty much cheated by racin stock). He said he wouldn't count, but because he raced, I only got $6 for winning (over all the real stock drivers), which is crap... Oh well, it was fun, and I only had to pay $2.59 for racing two classes and getting $10 worth of parts. That was VERY nice. :D Joel was pretty ticked that i beat him in both classes tonight. BooYah! lol Yeah, tonight was fun...you sure missed out, guys.

Well, this is how my schedule is looking so far. I work Tomorrow(friday), and my brother's wedding is Saturday, then, next week, I work Wednesday, and Friday, and Saturday. I am not worried by this, because, I am going to be making BANK on this paycheck! I have 70 towards my FE XXXT that we have in stock now...... But, looks like I am going to get that new 'Hellfire' motor tomorrow(May as well get one, going to need a new motor anyways).

So, I can smell the tires of my new truck already! It is going to take time, I can tell already. It is going to cost 115 for my radio, 120 for my ESC that I am getting(GM Racing V12 xc) and 120 or so, for my new Charger that I plan on getting(Competition Elecs. Pit Bull)

Wow, looks like I have some saving up to do

Sorry I haven't replied in a long time, but...

XXXER what the @#!$??? Bad choices I think, only in my opinion. Not only do you not want a PITBULL. but why? My 16x5 is WAYYYY cooler and more features for so much cheaper. Wait you dont like Integy so what gives???? GET A MILLENNIUM. And with that discount of your you might as well get a MILLENNIUM PRO! How could you waste your money on a pitbull when a millenium is same and cheaper?? ASK ANYONE. AND WHAT the @!#$ on the GM ESC for $120? Dude I dont know. The only one that really used this ESC was Masami when we won worlds and that is his driving. I think you could get a better ESC such as the C2. Dude Why a GM and Pitbull? You looking to waste money? And with your discount I dont even wanna here about anything!

What a joke. It is gonna take along time. I need to save. DUDE IF i had the discount I would have saved along time ago. You have been saying you were gonna get a MFT the day it came out so where is it?

Think your choices over bro. Just trying to help.

just wanted to let everone know the fall is on in twin falls it will be a two day race and the proceeds from the raffle will go to the red cross and I promise a track that will be awesome we are going in with a tractor to grade everything and get the track in primo shape plus I promise a layout that will not torture the cars like this spring and yes it will be treated but if you have the right tires they will last far better than three runs (local knowledge)

I did not go to boise because I had to work sat. and sun. they would not let me take off that many days in such a short period of time also to anybody planning on coming please you may want to bring some extra wheels we have tires out the wazoo but not a lot of wheels and as far as 40 second laps times I did not mind that as mush as the track was to tight and hard on cars wich will change I promise at least until after the last main

just got done putting the track in it is real nice as stated by those who drove it the track is a little rougher than I would like but not bad the length is 567 feet and about 32-35 second lap times wich will definitly come down as the track will be treated before next sat so I am happy

I really hope she does do the sportsman class with handouts! That would rock. I would be up on that one. It sux we never have a handout race. Not to mention then it would be down to the driving of the racer. I doubt she will do it but she did say she will look into it. I think if there is enough support (Which I am sure there is) then she would be more likely to consider. So we need to keep pushing! Later's guys.

Dood, Brian, what is wrong with your chassis on your wheeler now?

Also, my check was not as big as I was hopin', but, still good enough. How are your funds right now, and how about purchasing a chameleon now? I think that is what I am going to do with this check, and jam the rest into savings. I know that you are going to be gone this weekend, but, that is okay, because I am working tomorrow anyways.

I got asked to the Halloween Dance, and, it is a day that I am not working... so, count me out for racing on the 27th, but I do not care, it is going to be a blast. I love when I do not have to do anything for a date, except show up :)

Steve, after looking closely at it, I realized it's broken right where yours is on your XXX chassis. It might be solid enough to last for a long time, but I'd rather get a new one. That might not happen, though.

About the 19-turn "sport mod" class, I think it might be fun, but I'm not in the position to be buying ANOTHER motor right now (9 good ones is enough). If I DO get a 19-turn spec mod, I'll either get the Chameleon 2 or the new Peak/Orion 19 turn spec.

So you're not racing the 27th? Are you racing this Sat or Wed? I will plan on being there early this time. BTW, how can you say "racing is getting a little dull around that joint!"? Fetch, bro...you've been out a couple times in the last few months. I think it's starting to pick up some more and it's just as fun as ever. It will only get better because of the big races coming up.

Corey, I don't think you told us if you've got your MF XXXT yet... DID YOU!? I look forward to racing with ya again sometime, dude. I think I might just race mod truck at the state champs, and stock buggy. I'll do mod wheeler too if I can get it ready in time. That's a simple dinero situation right there...

Tires, guys? Well, M3 Holeshots always work well on any car. When the track is very smooth and grooved pretty well (like I'm sure it will be), square fuzzies work great on the buggies and trucks. Pink BK bars will work well on 2whl buggies sometimes, but they work anytime on a wheeler. Some people try to use red X-2000s and T-2000s, but they never work as well as Pro-Line tires. Pink tapers tend to work pretty well on a smooth & grooved track, though. Fronts? I like pink fronts (directionals on the truck). That should just about cover it... See you at the state race!
