Hey everyone, please no welcome new user messages, this is the same person as losixxtpower, just I now have my own name. I just figured I'd have everyone check out my site. I'm gonna start posting the track setups for the indoor and outdoor tracks at IR/CR as soon as I can get out there more often. Until then check my message board and sign my guestbook. I'll fix the counter so that it says the real amount. Any ideas for stuff on it would be greatly apprecaited!

It would sure be nice to have some money...
Who's all racing April Fools' and in what classes? I hope I can, but I'm not sure yet...
Roach Racing
03-25-2002, 12:16 PM
Well I am racing stock and prostock truck. You know you can get $30 and run at least one class. Just dont buy tires. :)
Nairb
03-25-2002, 12:29 PM
Yeah...but one class is SO weak... I want to run stock truck and buggy, maybe mod truck, and definitely mod 4 wheeler... Then i have to consider whether pro stock, stock, or both... Dang, there are too many options. I want to do it ALL. :D You're right, though. I don't have to buy tires. The ones I have now should work fine, even though they're not brand new. my motor situation should be just fine now, too...since I got my new Hellfire and Carerra mod. My old motors should cover the rest of my needs (buggies); my truck was in serious need, though. If only evan would pay me back now...

You know I ran 5 classes 2 years ago, it pretty much sucked. I couldnt consentrate. Just dont over do it and youll be fine.

Well I am going to race Pro Stock buggy, Stock buggy, Stock Truck.
Brian you should race bro! I know you can do it and get the money. I really hope you race AF this year! It would be so fun all of us guys just chillen out there at a big race... Everyone is going!
I am sure you can run just 3 races and if you cant afford that then just run 2 class. Truck and Buggy! DO IT MAN!
Were all looking forward to your pressence out there. It just wont be the same without you kicking our butts! You know you have it.

03-26-2002, 10:40 AM
Dude...ok... I guess I'll just run my truck and buggy in stock and my wheeler, but I'm not sure which stock (regular or pro). I want to see what all my buddies are racing in, and I'll do the same. Mod truck would sure be fun, but I guess I'll just have to do it some other time... Hmm...maybe I should do both stock truck classes, because I know I've got a great chance in both of those... Crap! Deciding is so hard!! Ahhhh....fetch...
What are Jeff, Dan, Corey, Derek, Joe, and all the other guys racing? I definitely need help deciding. Man, I'm so indecisive sometimes...

03-26-2002, 11:41 AM
Well I am running Stock Buggy, Stock Truck, and Pro Stock Buggy. I think you should run probably 2 stock trucks over 2 stock buggy races beacause you usually are better with your truck, but then you buggy can show up sometimes too and wipe the dirt! Hmm so tough. About mod, I dont think they will let you run regular stock and MOD TRUCK because then when others that wanted to do the same thing see that then they will think it is unfair.
I am sure all of us you mentioned are at least running stock buggy and stock truck so just pick and choose on Pro Stock classes. That is awsome your going to race, but like I said I am going to bug you til it is PAID for! Later bro and have fun.
Nairb
03-27-2002, 01:36 PM
Hmm... This is the question. If I race mod wheeler, will Teresa let me run stock or will it have to be Pro Stock? I'm pretty sure that it will have to be Pro Stock. I know for sure if I wanted to race mod truck or buggy I would not be allowed to race regular stock, but the wheeler class is different sometimes. I'll talk to Teresa on Saturday when I race, but for now I think I'm planning on Mod Wheeler, Pro Stock truck and buggy, and maybe mod truck too. That could be fun! :)
I wonder what Jeff & Dan are racing... Jeff's probably doing regular stock...but I don't know for sure. Dan's probably doing both.
TTYL, dudes!

Heya people,
It's time to come back. I've been away long enough. Track looks fun, nothing to tough. I imagine it's all going to be tough at my first time back behind the wheel.
What tires are working, Pink BK Bars and Tapers still? How does the stock setup on the Kinwald edition work? I guess I'll find out on Tuesday. See you all next week.

Yeah I like this track. I TQ'd and should have beat Nathan but I made 1 costly mistake. Thing is I did better in the main then I did in my TQ performance so I am going to be just fine. Plus a marshall got right in the way when I was going to make my move on Nathan and I couldnt see the car at all and turned to sharp so that help. Either way I still caught him and finished right behind him.
Nice pics Corey!
Brian since you wont be out to the track til sat go to Coreys site (www.dialedrc.com) and check it out. NICE PICS!!
THAT IS THE April Fools TRACK! Awsome...

PINKS all round work and only PINKS should be used. When the track is wet then BK's hook up but it doesnt take long for it to dry out and then Tapers work better. My XXX (ke) is so dialed now it is not even funny. The stock might work but I think the regular XXX stock setup works a little better. Just depends on how you drive.

03-28-2002, 03:55 PM
Hey Brandon! Did you move back here? That is sweet you are going to start doing the "toy car" thing again.
Last year, during the races, the majority of people who could afford it, ran Pink tapers, front and rear(yeah, you gotta make your own fronts, man that takes forever!). Stock set-up on the KE sucks, too much push, and rebound for the track. I think that pink 4 rib wide body tires would be fine as well. Trinity Grey foams are the best thing to stick in your tires(unless you are using square fuzzies, I usually use stock losi inserts, the tires do not last long enough to buy em).
Derek is right, I would suggest building the KE car up to the standard XXX set-up, possibly adding weight to the front bulkhead(I have seen/heard of a lot of people doing this, 1/4 oz.) because of the lighter graphite components.
I will not be racing the April Fool's race, but you can guarantee I will be there hanging out!
BTW, I will be out at the track tomorrow to practice, and see if I can dial in my new FTB3 that just came to my house, while typing up this post.
HOLY COOLNESS!

Cool! I am as well as going to practice tomorrow and of course RACE sat.
I just got a sweet deal on a JR 8450 High Speed Digital Servo! It is so freaking awsome and I got like 30 bux off and it has never even been OPENED! It rocks..
98 oz/in Torque
.08 sec/60°
Price is around 120 so I think I got hooked up. Those numbers are so freaking AWSOME for a Digital Servo. There is nothing better except maybe a KO which requires FET! That sucks for me! So this servo is awsome. My truck has all the top gear now... It is going to be so rad. Next up, I need to order a hellfire since I herd W.V. hobbies has crappy #ed ones left. Brian got a good one though, just about the only one from what Rory tells me.
So maybe Ill try my luck and order one or who knows what I should do?

Derek, are you going from open-close tomorrow? I have it all off, so I wish they were open earlier, but, what can you do?
BTW, my Hellfire that is in "Steve's Pile of crap" at my hobby shop, is merely 1 to 2 Watts different in the numbers, mine will be just as ballistic, mine had about 200RPM more. Now, if my tax return would come, I would be golden!
Hey, that is the same servo I plan on getting! JR stuff is where it's at! We will see, I need to save my money for Prom! Eeeeeeeek, that is going to take MONTHS to pay for.

You guys come down so its fun for us to come up. Too bad were are not in the same Roar REGION, cause then we could battle for regionals. That would be fun!
XXXER5 > Dude I am pretty much good to go all day. I have no school on FRI and I have a car to drive right now! So I will probably show up around open or so. We should meet up and practice if you are going to head out..
I hope I can drive my Truck in prac tomorrow. I think I will just swap out my XXX servo into the truck until I get the Jr Servo! I need to get tires, shock oil, and a few other parts. Dang I still need to pay for my AF races!

I am good to go too, now, if they could open a little earlier before 4, then that would be good. I am ready to try out my new 2400 packs I got from Tim, with the buggy. This thing is pretty sweet, I am glad I got it. I will be running the body that got sent with it, the one I painted sucked, but it is not worth running yet. This one is all white, and does not have a single sticker on it, lol. I just need to buy some 767 brushes for my P2K2, and some grey foams for my Taper pins(I hope those hook up, those are the only tires I have for this thing, besides the M2 Bow Ties that come with the kit!!!). I have some pink 4 rib fronts, and Pink taper pin fronts. If all else fails, I can use my XXX tires/wheels, but they are more narrow than the B3's. Uuuuuugh, what a pain in the butt.
Seeeeee you today!

that's ok about regionals you have nationals this year beside I have pretty good love-hate relationship with boise right now so it would be good for them to get regionals. I hope pinks work to even though I probably have way more pro-line tires in my pits that need to be used up (I am sure they would work for me I just need the right setup anybody got a good one for a schumacher:D )

Sorry bro on the Shu, I run LOSI and used to run a b3 so ae and losi are my deal! All I know is that you need to run PINK losi tires. If proline then I have herd square fuzzies hook up, and holeshots sometimes hook up for me. It just depends. You could try it out! What day are you coming? Are you racing April Fools?

03-31-2002, 07:36 PM
my plan is to arrive thurs mid day sometime to get some practice and race the club race I am signed up for the weekend in pro-stock buggy and wheeler. I will burn my pro-line tires in practice I am sure I can make them hook up I remember when squares were the only tire to run and I don't think the track has changed that much I do have pinks in rerserve though. I thin I can get my car setup I was trying to give you guys a bad time cause I know it is losi country down there lol. I like being the oddball with some funky car you should see what I run in truck sometimes

Hey guys! April Fools is gonna rock! I'm signed up for stock buggy, stock truck, pro stock truck, and mod wheeler... That sounds like fun, but who knows...I might end up dropping pro stock truck. That's really a lot of money...but hey, a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do! I won't have the cash to buy jack squat, but my old tires and motors (plus my new Hellfire and Carerra) should work well.
Macho, this is the tire deal... Pro-Line tires will usually hook up great at our track, as you've surely found out, but I am absolutely convinced that they are a disadvantage to the right Losi tires. Why? Because Pro-Line M3 tires are VERY soft and VERY pliable. When you're using these tires, they will strech and be very forgiving which will be safe and easy to handle, but you will not get all the responsiveness and snappy handling that you can get from the right Losi Pink tires. You absolutely get more forward bite and more steering with pinks. If you want to prove it to yourself, try making the triple with your stock buggy first with one type of tire, then try it with the other type. I can guarantee that you'll get further with the pinks. The losi pinks are definitely tougher than M3s and they do NOT stretch like M3s, but they still hook up VERY well. with your two buggies you'll want to use either pink taper pins or BK bars in the rear and pink wide ribs, taper pins, or BKs in the front for MAXIMUM performance, sauced or not. I'll warn you that with taper pins you'll get awesome forward bite, but you might feel that your car's rear end is eager to swing around on you. Trust me, you WANT this. Tapers give you as much steering as you can handle, pretty much, and often times MORE. The trick is to learn to work with it, and it's not bad at all. It's better to have the capability for more steering than you need than to not have enough. The trick is to learn how to finesse the throttle with the steering. While turning, keep on the gas at least a little to keep the rear planted as much as you want. At speed, the radius of your turn (and how planted your car stays) is a direct effect of how much throttle you're giving it. The sliding of the rear is not out of control, but it can sure catch you off guard if you don't know what to expect. BTW, this advice is for 2WD buggies and trucks; wheelers are their own deal... I hope this helps. I am a FIRM believer in the power of Losi pink rubber. You simply cannot be as fast with M3 rubber. You can definitely be fast, but not as fast as possible. I have seen the light! Can I get a hallelujiah!?
OK, cya guys... I gotta go get my motors ready for Cody to dyno them for me! Woohoo! This should be interesting...

Oh boy, guys...this is just what you wanted to hear... I'm not going to race April Fools. Nope, I'm not gonna do it. Sorry, but it's just not the right thing for me to do right now for reasons like lack or money, lack of time, and especially for my religious beliefs... Whether you think I'm crazy or not, I gotta do this... You don't know how badly I want race April Fools, but I just can't. It's absolutely my decision and I wasn't forced to make it in any way, except by myself. So, have fun racing this year without me. You know, if it wasn't on a Sunday, I'd probably still do it. I might come hang out on Saturday just for fun, but Sunday isn't gonna happen. I want to do what's right for me now, especially since i will be getting married in the temple in 64 days! :D You're disappointed, I'm disappointed, but oh well... In the end, whether I won some cool trophies or not won't matter, but trying my best to keep the sabbath day holy will. So there you have it...my true feelings. I'll just have to have my fun and kick boo-tay on regular club nights...
Maybe a few years down the road I will have my own track and hobby shop (maybe with my buddies) and we can have our big races NOT on Sundays... Kristi and I actually talked about that today, lol! SHE even brought it up! hehe Sure she helped me with my decision today, but she does not tell me what to do. Doing the right thing is completely my decision.
Anyway, I better be off... TTYL, guys!

Most people dont like racing all day thur and fri? Just curious?
Roach Racing
04-03-2002, 10:50 AM
Brian - You gotta do what you gotta do.
Derek - The thing about big races are just that, big. It’s next to impossible to have a large race that doesn’t include Sunday. Cactus is actually three days Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. And that makes it not an option for some people who can’t race on Friday. The only way really to do a race without Sunday is a all day Saturday race. But with the amount of people a Race like April Fools draws that’s not an option.
Its a hard situation for people that dont race on Sunday. Believe me Brian is not the only one. But here is a story for you, my buddy left on a mission a couple years ago and he had his farewell one Sunday raced April Fools the next Sunday and went into the mtc the next Wednesday. :)

Macho > I have a question about the ID track. What kind of compund and tires hooks up best?
LOSI pinks, silvers, or reds?
Last year when I came up I noticed the track really eats up tires, but maybe it was the tires I was running. I only had 1 pair of PROLINE holeshot m3 that really got worn down! I would rather run LOSI tires, so what do the guys usually run?
I want to be hooked up when I come up in JUNE. So any info on tires would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

for trucks I would say t-bones or t-2000 you might try tapers but I do not think they would last again in red for the front in buggy or truck just about anything works even your pinks (I have not tried pink rear tires yet out there I would think they would work O.K. but might be a little on the loose side

Steve My track is done its about as trailer trash as it gets no hobby shop no power yet no water yet just a trck taht isnt even buikt that well and its small its not layed out very well the woops are to deep so i hit into them but its a track im getting pretty good at it too last time i went to practice i broke a front a arm on my buggy I think were that rod slids in that connect the wheel with the a arm came out cause one of the m clips fell off and i smashed into a turn and it busted the little hole so the rod can slid right out. graphites not strong enough for me. But any way i still havent ran my micro cause my radio hasnt come in:mad: but its coming tomorow Wahoo and the 30 Im goignt o a meeting to sign up for some club so I can race. I raced this Kid who was at the track when I was and I smoke him. He had a stampede taht was all stock with msc and all all he ad were some red springs. My pro line slash buggy rears arent given me the grip i nedd for my track I keep fishtailing. I think I might try some BK bars in pink or some Hole shots. I still have my p2k that i got for my rustler its like older than your spit fire and it still runs good (although im goignt toreplace it with a reedy mvp) cause I stoll my cousins can because his p2k is messed up the magnets are pretty good in it too. Schools almost over wha hoo im coming down there all summer so im bringing my buggy and micro so we can go race. Ill bring my ruslter if I got room too. I thik im going to get softer rear springs too. And also what weight do you put in buugy for shock oil?
XXXER
05-04-2002, 12:44 AM
If your car is fishtailing, you definatley are not running the right tires. Give holeshots a chance, if the track is hard, and has a slightly dusty surface. If it is deep dirt, you may want to try something a little more agressive(like the Step Pin tires from Team Losi). Try out yellow springs for the back, and silver fronts. 30 weight oil, front and rear, #56 pistons in the back, and 55 up front. What tires are you using up front?
I hate to tell you this, but I do not drive a XXX anymore, I got a Factory Team B3, so I will be racing that for a while.
Keep it real

I need to et a front a arm so i can race. what did you do with your xxx? Schools almost out and im coming down there all sumeer i hope. my charger is workin out nice. Next friday im going to go get a reedy mvp for my buggy the guy told me to sandpaper or file or the tips of the brushes and it wont heat up as bad. He also said that Tires hook up in a hole new way whne they wet down the track. I ddint know brian Kinwald invented the bk bars at magnas track. Britney is due in like two weeks too. Hey I raced and i took first I only raced one guy named Gary, he had the fasted buggy i have ever seen and mod truck too he kind of let me win because in the 1st heat he lost a wheel won that round but he was right behind medriving without a wheel too. In the second heat we (oh yeah they count laps) were just putting around the track trying not to break because there was no point and i came off the Double and i landed and my car stopped I broke off the Tab you solder your wires two but the guy i was racing let me use one of his many motors it was an mvp and he had females and i had males on my motor so we had a to rig a thing up to connect them. But we got it working and then he let me use a pair of bowties because they couldnt wet down the track and my tries were going every were IN the last Quallifier he beat but only like 3 seconds ahead and after the race he rebuilt my motor he cut the com with a lath and he cleand it out so now i m gonna race again in 2 weeks

quick update for anybody planning on goint to twin this sat. for the trophy race the track is almost complete and ready to go just a few more pipes to lay down and treatment for traction the layout is in my opinion very good, fast with plaenty of places to pass and a fair amount of turn and fast sections. there has been some concern about having tables and chairs for everybody we did manage to get some but if you can fit a table and or chair I would definitly recomend bringing it

You can go to www.stormerhobbies.com and look for some packs there, SMC batteries are very nice, and you can get them in assembled, or unassembled versions. Post the link to the ones you want before buying them, so I can tell you what I think of them. You can run any kind of battery, with teh charger that you have (BTW, how is that working out for you?)
Hey, is your micro going yet? Are you having fun with it? I know of a place online that you can get a lot of stuff for them, and he has some great prices. You need to get the HPI mod motor, Team Orion 6-cell battery, and the steel pinion.
When are you planning on coming up here again? I will take you out racing any time dood! I also heard that Brittney had her baby! That is pretty cool. come on up here, we will give Emily a nice, annoying time! hehe
Later

DOOD! But I do not work today! Stop by my house or something. I just got my micro together last night. It has been apart for months! I got the Team Orion Big Block motor, and she is a FAST machine now! I need a part though, I broke it because I have so much stupid power. Oh well, what can you do? I will catch you later man. Too bad you do not have your XXX with ya, or we could have gone racing today. I might go, but I do not know yet.
Seeeeeeeeee ya.

So dang guys. This thread has been FOREVER! This is like history for us RCers. We can so go back and read what was happening in like 2001!!!! NUTS. That is so far ago. This is GREAT history.
So now is the future. It is almost OCT 2002. I figure now is the time for me to get back into racing. I cant wait.
It sucks JEFF sold all of his stuff and doesnt race anymore. What a great guy he was! Well I am officially (well allmost officially back)!!!!
So I am going to pick up some new batts, and I gotta get my Turbo 35. However with the new Turbo 35 GFX coming out I think I will wait to see what the price of it will be. I am for sure going to get one.
So that means I am going to sell the Integy 16x9!
Well see you all there SAT even if I dont race! I am going to FOR SURE hangout!
Questions, Commments, or Concerns with me, please do feel free to ask! Viewer Discrestion Advised.

Definately nuts that Jeff has sold all of his stuff. That is a total bummer! Dan is still going strong racing. He is there all the time (of course). Wade seems to show up from time to time. He never got any money from his insurance when all of his crap was stolen, so he just has his truck, couple batteries, and whatnot. I am definately racing stock. I think we should all jump into stock buggy so that we can all race, I mean hey, when will be the next time we have Me, Derek, and Brian all going together? Maybe we should all slap some Mods into our cars too. I bought a few mods from Tim that are pretty insane, I am sure I cannot put the power down though.
Look forward to seeing you guys!

So tempted to get a B4, but there are others things I need first. I need a LATHE and the new Turbo 35 GFX when it comes out next month.
Other then that I am tempted but I like my XXX. I would have to see it first hand and then drive it to see what it is like. It could be an option for the FUTURE though, after I buy all my other GOODIES!
