Okay.. i just got this Nitro TC3 RTR for $100... it only has run 2 tanks on it... my buddy let go cause he's pickin up a new car..
I run all electric so this is my first foray into NITRO.
K.. so i need an igniter (got one already from a plane i have)..
Now.. here are the questions.
What kind of fuel do i get?? 20%?? what happens if i get 30%?
What do i need to do to get this going faster?
Will converting it to a two speed give me more speed???
What tuning things can i do to increase performance?
Thanks..

Use 20% for now....Trinity Monster Power (purple), O-donnel (clear), Blue Thunder (blue)....your call...
Running 30% is for ppl who knows how to run 30% fuel, you shoudl wait (fyi, when running 30%, you have to add head shims for your engine head....thickness are important and that's depengds on varies element...hard to explain)
To get faster....(1) faster engine (2) good setting (3) 2-speed (4) high gears (5) good brake.
Converting to 2-speed will get you faster and more speed, so YES.
What tuning things can i do to increase performance?....A LOT and really hard to explain in couple words or sentences....you can start from engine, then 2-speed, then gears, then suspension, then tires, shock oils, springs....toe-in/out, camber, caster, then highend needle setting, low-end after....% of fuel....JUST too many...

Yeah.. I can handle all the supension stuff.. i understand how gear ratios work.. my main "fun" part will be figuring out which will be better in terms of engine tuning.. like going leaner or richer and all that other stuff you mentioned with the needles.. Wish me luck!!
I picked up a 2speed tranny today, and also some of the necessary stuff.. i got the car w/ a bent center shaft so i got the blue team version.. Now I need some tools.. all i have are metric tools.. I ran almost all exclusive tamiya electric TC's before this car.. =D

Hey I am from NYC, Brooklyn.
In Brooklyn, people go to Floyd Bennet Field and play. THey set up a track there on weekends. But most of the people there drives 1/8 scale like the mugen MRX and serpents.

hey i had been to the floyd, wen is it? (time and day(s) about) is there space to run my car, or do i have to race?

I'm in brooklyn. I go to Staten Island, and Floyd as well. I'm up for a good race...
Ok im having a hard time picking a car. My choices are the NTC3(of course) and the trinity nitro reflex NT. I race on avg once a weekend or every other. and I sometimes go out with a few friends and romp around the parking lot. I know the trinity is just about a copy of the V one R. i need a great handling car, that is easy to tune, and reliable. Im not out to spend the money for a serpent or mugen. Also can anyone give me the low down on how bad the torque steer is with the shaft drive. I have heard mixed reviews about it. Barry baker didnt have any problem sweeping the Comp. at the lastest race so as I see it, there must not be that big of a deal. Alot of people also mentioned that it is not a durable as other cars.
and now onto the engines. :) Do you have to cut the threaded shaft short as like short on a rc10gt. Because I run a traxxas 4-tec pro right now and I had to cut the shaft down tio about 5-6 threads whichs is pretty short, like the RC10GT style.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Why would you get a Reflex? The new car will be out in a month or two and after that parts will be allmost non-exsistant for the reflex.
There is no torque steer with the NTC3. Not one of my drivers using my motors have ever experienced torque steer, if it wont do it with one of my motors it wont do it. It didn't do it to barry with one of Eduardo Piccos motors, so I am confident in saying that it wont. The only reason why it would is because you car it tweeked.
Yes you will have to cut the crank, the same as the GT.
There is a kit called "The Fix" many hobby shops sell them and you can also find it on e-bay. Buy it and will probably never have any durability issues with the car. It is $12.99 for one end of the car. Buy two bags, $26.00, and your set.
You will love the car.
ok, Didnt know there was a new trinity car coming out. Anywhere to get any info on it? Also, what does the "FIX" fix on the car? i have heard of it but never have seen what it fixes.
thanks for your help

What's up guys? Next time, when you get a chance and bored - check us out at Cunningham Park. We are there every Sunday. About direction, go to queensunitedrc.com and read more...
Hold your stinger with your finger and as the engine/flywheel turnsover, you will see that the fuel moves towards the carb. But don't hold it too long - as you see it, that's it.
See you then!:D

tamiyajoe: yes its the same thing just eyecandy anodized. I cant really understand why some one would pay extra for an anodized part that you cant even see...
fastharry: Do you know if they made the anodized fixes yet? I would go for the regulars if theyre not going to, but it like eye candy if I can get it. Do they have a website or somthing? I dont feel comfortable just sending somebody money, and I dont have a membership (if thats what you call it) to ebay so I doubt he'd sell to me there cause Id have no feed back or pervious bids.

what air filter does everyone use, or recommend?

Any foam filter will be fine, don't use a K&N one.

I also want to know this. I read somewhere on here to keep these as spares cause they are cheap. But will it withstand the power of nitro?
Pro3/nmt105

I dont think they will my friend had them on his electric tc3 and they would break around the pin area from slight bumps to the walls, and Ive seen pictures of people who put brushless systems in the tc3s and all of the composite cvds broke from the torque, so I doubt they hold up to nitro.
