I think you'll find the XX4 to be a bit more durable and handle the rough stuff a bit better. It's downfall is it's more difficult to work on and more time consuming to fix drive train issues.

The XXX4 has awesome acceleration with the single belt drive train - absolutely takes off like a rocket ship. It's far easier to work on and takes batteries built in a standard style rather than saddle packs. Some people feel it's a bit more "fragile" than the XX4 and doesn't go through the rough stuff as well. I think the car can handle pretty well if you get a good setup on it. It might depend alot on what type of track you run on as to what car you want to get.
so say i have a semi rough track. I would want a XX4, even though it takes more to work on and fix, and the XXX4 accelerates faster. I've been leaning towards the XX4 for a while, but I wasnt sure which I should get for my track, and I dont want to make the wrong choice.

Man. So some of you may know that I just rebuilt an XX4 and was trying to sell it. Well, I decided to keep it for myself. I ran it for the first time tonight and I freaking LOVE it! It's ridiculously fast, accelerates awesomely, has awesome suspension, and it's amazingly quiet. I love it. The only question I have now is - how durable is it? I guess time will tell. I'm used to my B3 with RPM aftermarket parts. I'm really in to this. I will be using this for oval racing in a month or two :D sweet sweet sweet. Later, guys.

ran my XX4 in competition (with a LRP brushless) in local comp for two seasons....aside from the regular issues that would confront any truck, had no problems....only MANY a-main wins..........

Hey guys been out of the hobby for a long while, wondering if there have been any updates to the drivetrain in the xx4?

Again its been a while so please hold your laughter if this does not apply any longer….

I run an aveox RC7 in it and it absolutely is way to much power for it, and rips the belts apart and melts the gear train…

Any suggestions?
I kinda tapered off sharply when real cars entered the equation…
So I havnt really been in the loop since the xx4 came out…
Are there any aluminum gearsets and better reinforced belts avalible?

Can someone post a pic of the Amezcua standard setup? At the moment I'm unable to open files on my computer.

Thanks.

had read somewhere that it was a good idea to soak NEW xx-4 belts in wd-40 to "soften them up". well, did so(leaving them in sealed bags with wd-40) for A FEW MONTHS). well, tried using the "softened" belts. FOUND THEM TO BE A BIT LONGER THAN WHEN THEY WERE NEW. so, seems that the EXTENDED STAY in the wd-40 kinda "stretched" them out, strange, but true. so, from now, out of the package's and onto the xx4.......oh well.
