Hey all, I used to drive a Tractor Trailer years ago, I've been looking to get the Tamiya TT since it came out and I think I'm going to finally make the plunge.
I think it's going to be the Knight Hauler with a Box trailer. Any tips prior to purchasing? What else should I order to go along with it?
I'm also curious on the sound quality and functionality of the Multi Function control? Is it worth it? I'd definitely like sound and lighting.
Has anyone tried using a high turn Comm Lathe motor (Integy) Search Lathe Motor on Tower. They are all low speed high torque motors.
Finally, I am going to try and control it with my Nomadio so I'll be the Nomadio test subject here....

Oh yea one more thing... Anyone try using a Gyro in the trailer to help with backing up?
Peterl
06-28-2006, 03:21 PM
Hey Truckers,
My Knight Hauler just came in. Off course I started immediatly with the assembling. I'm now half way done and ran into a little problem. My truck is faster in reverse than it goes forward. Does someone know what I've done wrong? Can I switch the polarity (+ and -) or does this damage my engine?
Gr. Peter
PS forgive my poor english, it has been a while since the last time I posted something in english on the internet

vtl1180ny = MFU definitely worth it. Sound quality is very good and seems like the sounds comes straight out of your diesel engine under the hood. Not to mention the "shake" of the body synchronized with engine sound. Lights are definitely a plus.
As for the Gyro I never though on that to tractor trucks. As these are not for racetrack the stability is not the best around, but it is scale. Maybe that's because nobody have tried it yet. Might worth a try, although gyros are $$$.
To your truck 2 standard servos a good 4 channel radio and a 3000mAh battery (and respective charges) are all you need. If no MFU is used an ESC is a must.
Be sure to buy a light kit to your trailer. Motorized legs are a plus.
Peterl = my trucks have 3 speed tranny but I never noticed that they run faster on reverse than forward. Are you using ESC or MFU? Have you checked the wiring connection of your truck and your ESC (if that's the case)?
wedicotrucker = looks very nice! Seems your front grile is painted black or is it just light effect?
wedicotrucker
06-28-2006, 04:14 PM
Nope, its just the lighting. The grill housing is also a little dirty from finger prints and such.
I'll post a few better pic of it later on as I go. But for now I ran into a majore problem.......
seems I forgot how every thing goes back together. I also need to get new fabric for the interior of the cab. I'm also thinking abought replacing the currant electrical system with wedico's infrared electrical system.

Clodz 72 2003 = have you instaled the MFU according to MFU manual or did you use your own setup? If you use your own setup what was that?
I tried installing it according to the manual but it just didnt work for me...The Cab is not big enough for the MFU to mount properly.... I mounted the MFU right above the motor. I fabbed up a mounting plate and used double sided sticky tape.. I then went ahead and bolted the speaker to the top of the cab

Hello,
the basic model of the wheeled loader and Liebherr (kit) Stahl (http://www.stahl-modellbau.com/) / Leimbach (http://www.leimbach-modellbau.de/start.html) also originates from german companys.
Since then I this model have, try I by additional details these that 1:1 look ever original-more faithful to let.

Try switching the two wires that go to the motor and then on your radio switch the throttle to reverse (or opposite what it currently is) and reprogram the esc. It is possible that there is timing in the can on that motor you have installed. Forward will have more power and torque and you possibly just have everything backwards.

The Tamiya lights will fit the Gardentrucking square headlights but you have to use a dremel tool to grind out the insides .

Been viewing your truck over on the Gardentrucking board Boxerdog and it's a real awesome truck. the detail is amazing and also i didn't know that i would have to grind the inside of the light housing on the square headlights in order to fit the Tamiya MFU bulbs so thanks for mentioning that one to the previous post made about it.

I'm thinking more and more about my big rig purchase. Its been about 8 months since I got into the big rig scene. The truck is absolutely loaded with everything plus some other unique features. The problem I'm having is it just sits on the shelf. I haven't used it in a long time and I'm starting to regret buying it. I have so much cash into it but if I sell it, I'll take a beating on it. No one is ready to fork out near what I paid. Anyone else have regrets after forking out more than $1000 scoots for a tamiya rig only to have it act as a paper weight? :)
BTW, if ya wanna check it out, its on page 116. Since those pics I added a swan hood ornament and the Freightliner emblem.

Alfy,
That turned out awesome! Great Job! The picture angle is perfect. It looks like its ready to hook onto one of those trailers! Glad I could help on finding the floor pan.
Tim,
I feel your pain about the money that I've dropped into mine so far. This is by far the most cash I've ever tied up into one single RC. I sold off dang near every other RC I had to fund this project, but dont think I regret it any. I just go power on that MFU and see here vibrate and all the wonderful things it does and the $$$ seems to be well spent. I've done a few custom touches as well and have a few more in the works, like adding the Freightliner emblem, Wedico's US tail conversion, CAT decals for my flaps, polished rear cab panel. Then hopefully some aluminum wheels...
This is by far the coolest RC I've owned, but was a long time coming. But I've recently started buying other RC's again thanks to a few smoking deals on Ebay and such.
I dont think I'd ever wanna sell my Knight Hauler cuz like you said I'd never get my $$$ back out of it. She's here to stay I think!

yeah if you got the money to dish out, wedico has a tri-axel wrecker. fully metal and when made from a static diecast model into a fully functional R/C model could set you back maybe 4000.00 or more depending on the type of driveline you plan to run, etc etc.

yeah i saw you're also a member over at RCMT and saw your rig here and there a few times. like any R/C's including your semi purchase with everything you bougth for it, one will always take a beating on never getting exactly or equal the amount of money they put in it. to me the semi thing is not just something to go right into unless you've really given it a whole lot of thought rather then just thinking for a little bit about it then hopping right into it and going all out on what you can throw on it. i've been into the whole semi and construction thing since growing up and have been around the family who's done it for a living, sometimes even riding along with them in their trucks during jobs here and there, even running a few construction equipmeant, so for me my purchase and going all out into the semi gig in the R/C world was no regret for me all though my very first R/C i started out with was your normal regular common R/C so when i got into the rig scene and it being R/C i was not only blown away but was in my right place. sorry to hear you're not too fond of your rig anymore, it is a really nice truck. i say maybe hold onto it if you can and never know, one day you might hop right back into it.

The most I've seen a tri axal wrecker cost was 8 grand. But that had every thing done to it that could be done. Even had an infrared electrical system, with a tri axel trailer with a working winch on the trailer.

Dang 8 grand!!! LOL well i'll just say maybe add another grand or 2 to the 4 grand i said above. i know in a while back Kevin Hetmanski did a article in the 4x4 section of a full all wheel drive Wedico Tri axel Peterbilt that had pretty much everything that i know of that could be bolted onto that thing minus the aluminum wheels. OH! and it was all rear wheel drive so minus the front drive axel but had all 3 drive axels at the rear. it was a great build up. i only wish that one day he would do a maybe a shoot out or some sort of thing where he reviews and compares Wedico's truck against Tamiya's. that to me would make one AWESOME article.

i know the prices and stuff mine would be more then 8 grand tho because i want hydralic wheel lift, a rotator boom instead of stationary, outriggers right behind the cab that come out and outriggers and spades at the end on the truck, and some other stuff . I work for a towing company so i drive these trucks almost all the time lol.

Dang with what you wanna do sounds like you're gonna have to do some fabricating when getting to adding retracting outriggers behind the cab area. i honestly have never seen retracting support units on the market so probably would have to grab you the hydraulic rams and then make the outriggers.

Thanks to everyone who posted on my current situation. As of right now I'm not going to sell it. I just wanted to get some feedback about everyone else and how they deal with it!:) I put plenty of thought into the tamiya rig before I bought it and knew that it would cost me a small fortune.
Before this rig I had a globetrotter NIB. I got the globe trotter in a trade but sold it due to the style. When the knight hauler first came out a few years ago I bought one with the radio and bearings...ended up selling that because of cash flow issues. When I finally got my current rig it was last December. Some of you may remember it was the chrome version. As time went on, I decided to convert it to the regular body which wasn't cheap either! LOL!
More recently I got the trailer with everything you can get. It's a blast to drive especially with a trailer that can be attached and detached by the radio. It was the most complex and time consuming rc kit I've tackled to date. That's half the reason I bought it, for the challenge and fun factor of building such a detailed kit.

Wedico rigs are around just say 1 grand for a static model. if you're looking into a wrecker then alot more again this is at a static model stage. then the driveline depending on the one you go with could go all the way up to just about 800. electric parts such as ESC and sound unit, etc etc around 600 something, just below 700. but aside of its huge price difference between the tamiya and wedico and the common things you may find around is that a Wedico will most likely last you a life time and it's also fully diecast aluminum with few chrome plated brass parts. if you come think about it real hard, when was the last time you saw such a large scale radio control powered vehical that's fully metal? OH and Wedico trucks are made up of system kits. you buy the chassis you need, state how many axles you want it to be, pick the type of driveline you want and a whole lot more. when you get into Wedico you will see that it is very much like buying a real rig, you can also get a price qoute for everything you're looking into doing. also Wedico's are like tamiya's in the sence that you need to build them. the cabs for Wedico's are also in pieces as that must be built too.

Dusten left out one other thing........you don't need to drop in all the money at once. You can buy a chasis, build that, then buy the drive line, then the electronics, then the cab sleeper, and tow body, allthough If your going to do it this way it would be best to buy the truck backwards. Sleeper, then the tow body, then the cab.
But you can also go the next step down and buy a coventional cab, "standered" chasis (I think you can get one for free) and the "small" 2 axal tow body. Like this one that I sold for $1,500.00 dollers
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a206/bulsit/opening/92d68a5e.jpg
This hole truck was under 2 grand. But I opted not to install a sound unite, or aluminum wheels, and I left the standerd plasic diffs on it.

oh and yeah also on Wedico's all doors and hoods can be opened as well as the sleepr doors. lets just say it's a pretty big size scale diecast model that you can either leave static or go all out and make into R/C.

that pic was just 1 pic from a bunch of pics posted by a tamiyaclub member that was at a show either in the UK or Germany. that wrecker is using a Wedico Conventional Cab Freigthliner with a Heavy Haul "standard" chassis and a tri axle Tow body from Wedico as well as all aluminum wheels and super single tires at the front. the tow body is a little custom made as he took a regular tri axle tow body from Wedico and add on a little bit to it in some areas. that truck is fully functional radio control. the ones on the PMD gallery that you've seen is just some short of many examples that you can do with a Wedico. the one in the pic i've posted is pretty much a fully loaded decked out Wedico with just about every optional part avaliable out on the market for it.

Yes the red was a little scratched up, and the red also didnt really go with the rest of my fleet.
The 3rd axle was a non driven drop axle. with a half fender over it. Here is what is loked like before.
This is what it looked like before I bought it. I opted not to buy the trailer. The main reason I opted not to keep it a heavy hauler is I already have heavy hauler. So I wanted this rig to be a hauler for a flat bed trialer with a realistic load.
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a206/bulsit/untitled.jpg
This is what it looked on my work bench. I had allready taken the headache rack off. Ric at PMD need it to make another coppy of it as the machine shop Ric uses lost the CNC machine that this headache rack was programed into.
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a206/bulsit/b7d8454a.jpg
Also when I got this truck it had plasic super single wheels and tires on the front axle.
I've sence replaced them all with aluminum wheels.

Tamiya rigs can also last a lifetime so long as the owner has common sense. I don't see too many people launching their big rig off jumps and off stairs...lol.

a lifetime? just as long as the person has common sense? is it common sense to launch a rig down the stairs? rigs are not made to go launching themselves off of jumps or anything like that. they are made to haul things around either on rough terrain or on the roads and freeways you and i drive on, so with what you just stated on "common sense" and a tamiya lasting a "lifetime" would seem a bit odd in your case. also remember that a tamiya is plastic, a wedico is fully metal. if any of those 2 were to last a lifetime i would see it being the wedico due to the fact that its fully metal.

Someone mentioned the wedico trucks lasting a lifetime...What I was explaining is that a Tamiya model could also last a lifetime...yeah I said it, a lifetime :D. Plastic doesn't breakdown with time. How old are those bruiser truck bodies? 15-20 years old now? Is the plastic dissolving somehow? No it isn't. If properly taken care of the plastic body can easily last another 20 years + so long as they have COMMON SENSE...

Hi folks I am just getting in to the Tamiya trucks after being out of R/C for many years and have completed my Knight Hauler complete with MFU in the last week (I will post photos soon).
I have a few questions I am hoping you all may be able to help me with.
First I am interested in building two tanker trailers into a B-Train set and wonder if anyone here has done that before and might have some pointers or insight for me.
Second for slowpokejk in a post on page 103 you have a picture of a three axle Knight Hauler hooked up to a 15 axle lowboy trailer, I would like more details on that trailer ( was it custom built or is it a kit, where I could get one etc.) if you would be so kind.
Third I noticed when I was setting up the MFU that when you shift it not only changes the gear in the transmission but also changes the amount of power the MFU speed control allows to go to the motor. Would I encounter problems if I place the transmission servo on one channel and the MFU “shift” on a second channel to in essence give me 9 speeds?

Hey rattler
The picture of the three axle heavy hualer was on I found on a form
http://www.modelltruck.net/showthread.php?t=9366&page=1&pp=25
I belive that it was custom made.
About the b-train tanker. I plan to one in the future and yes it is possible I have three pictures of one that I guy did. I will post them later if I can find them. About the mfu question. I do not think it possible beacuse the shift servo connects to the mfu and then another wire connects to the reciver. So not you can not do this.

Hi Cody, I would be interested to see how you get on, I tried fastening the antenna to the mirrors, the truck would not respond to the radio from more than 6 feet away, The antenna was the only thing that I changed, the lead that comes with the radio is a the original length fastened to the normal Tamiya roof mounted antenna and the truck can be operated from a long way off, its a Futaba 40 meg 4 channel set.
Shame the stacks are not metal, the story might be different.

Those are the 'Deans' base-loaded antennas... I'd used them on my RC gliders and airplanes quite a bit... I never had an issue with range when using those.
The length is short enough that you could conceal the entire thing inside the cab... or you could run it flat up against the back of your cab, painted to match, and you'd barely notice it.
cody05
07-23-2006, 02:35 PM
Ok what does deans base loaded antennas mean? lol are they magnetic on the bottom or what i dont understand how they hook up to ur radio recevier wire. Ok another thing I want to get two and put them on top of my cab could i take a wire connecter (i can;t think of the proper name right now lol) and put the recevier wire in one end and the two antennas in the other end and it work just fine?
wedicotrucker
07-23-2006, 04:34 PM
I've upgreaded all my rigs to these deans antena's and am glad I did. These look much better than wedico's wire antena. Never had any trouble with any of them. They also alow you to do somthing thats allway been taboo. They let you cut off the acsess antena wire back to just 6 inches from the reciever. So it makes for a little less wire that you have to try and conseal. They are also easy to take off if you need to pack your truck up when you travel.
I just wish I thought of consealing it inside my peterbilt before I drilled the hole (IN THE WRONG PLACE!!!!!) for the antena on my sleeper.

07-23-2006, 05:20 PM
Ok what does deans base loaded antennas mean?
Base-loaded is just a term for an antenna that's shorter than the normally proper length for the frequency its design for... they do this by winding a bunch of it up in the base, so instead of 30" of wire, you have 18" wound-up in the base, 6" between the receiver and the antenna, then a 6" whip.
The instructions tell you how short to cut your receiver antenna, then you solder (or possibly crimp) it to the pig-tail on the base-loaded antenna.
You can achieve this on your own if you're very careful. If you wind a portion of the antenna around a non-metallic object in such a way that it doesn't cross-over itself, you've basically got the same thing. The important part is not winding in such a way that it crosses itself because this effectively shortens the overall length, and the antenna won't work nearly as well for the frequency.

Base-loaded is just a term for an antenna that's shorter than the normally proper length for the frequency its design for... they do this by winding a bunch of it up in the base, so instead of 30" of wire, you have 18" wound-up in the base, 6" between the receiver and the antenna, then a 6" whip.

would it be possible to make to antennas run off of the one receiver wire

I've upgreaded all my rigs to these deans antena's and am glad I did. These look much better than wedico's wire antena. Never had any trouble with any of them. They also alow you to do somthing thats allway been taboo. They let you cut off the acsess antena wire back to just 6 inches from the reciever. So it makes for a little less wire that you have to try and conseal. They are also easy to take off if you need to pack your truck up when you travel.
I just wish I thought of consealing it inside my peterbilt before I drilled the hole (IN THE WRONG PLACE!!!!!) for the antena on my sleeper.
i don't see them on ur rigs tho can u take pictures of it even if they are on the inside or outside?
thanks cody

I don't think you can do that with a single-pole antenna (as opposed to dipole). Your best bet would be to make one of them actually functional, and the other one just a dummy.

HI Guys :D
i've been lurking :o read and checked out all posts in this thread and glad that I found it :D I came I looked I learnt. Then Brought a Metallic KN from Hong Kong.
Was much cheaper than here in australia. Did not turn out too bad, will do better on the next one I hope  options fitted are full bearing set, MFC and 5TH wheel kit. I ordered the pole and flat top with lights & legs last night should be here in 5-7 days. :o
My name is Steve from Perth, Western Australia. After several weeks of asking people at model clubs and hobby shops can only find 3 other people with trucks :( Will be meeting 2 this weekend I hope :D I would love to come and play with U guys but it's a bit far.
check out my truck note the black spiral wrap on wires, also that i used the small speaker box from MFC to fit in the dash and seats. Instructions say use big one from kit not that I all read instructions  also note paint work (don't look at runs) tamiya clear red over the chrome looks like candy apple red :D
I see if I can Do this upload picture thing, First time posting

The truck on the trailer in the last pic... is that the one from Walmart? What kind of quality, how does it drive and is it worth the $40? It seems it is 1/15th or slightly smaller than the 1/14th of Tamiya truck size.

awnelson, yes that is the truck you can get from wallyworld. it drives pretty good on low carpet and hard wood floors. its actually pretty fun to drive around. There are 2 different styles of these MACKS..One is the black as you see above and there is s blue one with a HIGH top sleeper...

Whew, it took two days but I finally got through all the posts on this thread! Now I am even more excited than I was when I ordered my King Hauler. There is a ton of great work in all these pictures, I thought I had all these great ideas when I started going through the posts, but found that most had been done already (grain trailer, "real" air hoses instead of tamiya plug, stretched frame).
My biggest idea no one has touched yet!!! (which is not to say I will pull it off either, but I'm gonna give it the ol' college try) I used to have an old Kenworth W900A back in college (that was a non profit deal, let me tell you what) that I hauled grain locally with. The truck has moved on down the road but I figured I could massage this King Hauler into an old A model!
Challenges:
1. Getting rid of those God Awful head lights and replacing with two round
2. Shortening the sleeper height a bit to line it up with the cab (tempting to try to remold the top bit to get the rounded look KW used on their sleepers-Wedico did it right with their Pete's)
3. Adding the molding to the top of the hood and getting rid of the Pete rivets on the body
4. And probably the hardest-->Making a KW grill from scratch!
This should keep me occupied for the next year or so...lol
Keep the sunny side up-Reg
PS. Any body got a good tip on what kind of putty to use with these styrene bodies???
Thinking about getting a truck, waste of money? (don't shout, i just wondered)
Are they good fun? Anyone know where to buy the trucks and accessories/spare parts in UK i.e. UK website? i don't really want to be ordering from abroad.

does it make a difference in hauling heavy loads?
wedicotrucker
08-27-2006, 08:27 PM
Yes, that is anpother BIG plus, you can hauler quite a bit more. You will also get longer run times. Only thing I recomend is getting a veary good universal jointont on the out put shaft. Reson is your putting 4x the load on that univesal joint so going with a good one is important. A tamiya joint is a good choice.
This is the one I use on my trucks.
https://sdp-si.com/eStore/default.asp
type in this part number. part number A 5Y 8MDU2050
It's expensive, but it's veary strong. you will break your drive shaft before you break this universal joint.

wedicotrucker
08-28-2006, 02:53 AM
The universal joins made be wedico are pot metal. They are plenty strong enough to hold up to normal ware and tear of a wedico truck.
But when you put it behind the 4:1 it becomes veary week. As it was never intended to hold up to the added torque that a 4:1 adds.
So with that the wedico joints will break, it's just a matter of when.
With out the 4:1 they will last forever.
What breaks on wedico's joints are the ears.
After buying the universal joints from spd-si I've never had any trouble with them breaking.

Hello,
I have thoughts of purchasing a gear reduction unit for my King Hauler & Globe Liner but not quite sure of which gear reduction to get. There is a 3:1, 4:1 and 7:1 I've been considering. To maintain realism I'm leaning to the 3:1 or 7:1 because they mount on the inside (out of site) rather than the 4:1 which mounts on the underside and visable. Any suggestions?

Here I have two Completely New in Box Futaba's, both radio's were never installed in any Car, Truck, or Buggy. The Futaba 3PJ is missing it's antenna due to me needed it for another radio that i needed an antenna for but you can get a replacement from either TowerHobbies.com or on eBay for below $20.00. Both radio's were stored in my storage with my other R/C good's and the box on the Futaba 3PJ has some light wear on it and the the Futaba 6XAP radio box has a small minor tear in the top corner of it. I have taped the Futaba 3PJ box around the top to reduce the wear and tear on it, both radio's were only brought out of it's box for picture taking and then put back in. The Futaba 6XAP radio is a ground frequency radio and are mostly used in Tractor Trucks and can be used in many other type's of ground model's. Both these radio's come with standard servo's as you can see in the pic's, for the Futaba 6XAP radio i am including an aluminum shiftgate made by BruiserBuilder. I'm taking my time on this as there are too many small parts, and I'm afraid to lose them by getting in to big of a hurry. As of right now I've already lost a few small dowl pins. And they only give you what you need and no more.

Hello, I'm very interested in getting a tamiya big rig. I under stand you need a 4 channel radio for the MFU....but if I just want to shift the gears, can I use my three channel radio? I don't even know how to set up a controller to do this...I'm used to racing touring cars :p
sorry for being a newb in this, and thanks.

Wedicotrucker,
Appreciate the photos - keep them coming. I'm also new to this forum and after posting my first message I thought this forum had gone out of business. Its good to see some activity. After my first post the only thing I saw was the gone posting to sell some of his radio equipment.
Is it normal for messages to far and inbetween as it appears.
BTW - how much did you pay for the forklift?
Thanks,
Wilbert

wb2002, the fork lift kit is not cheap. This kit has a 600 doller price tag. But well worth the price.
Thats the bad news, but the good news is you get a fully functioning forlift that works just like the real thing.
But you do need GOOD EYE SIGHT when assembling this model. I thought my eye sight was good till I started this build.
But after all that I am just abought ready to start installing the elctrical.

you dont need to shift gears.the kit has a couple of clips for the shift shaft to lock the tranny into 1st,2nd or 3rd gear.
but yes you can still shift with a 3 channel radio.you will only have 2 gears though.if your 3rd channel has a turn knob that can be used to control the servo you can do all 3 gears.you really only need 1st and 2nd gear.3rd is way to fast to be able to control the truck.these trucks drive just like the real thing.too fast in a turn and it will roll over.

Thanks for the help. I did read in RCCA that they have clips....how hard, or annoying is it to change gears? I would love to get one of these, but buying a 4 channel radio is was to much for me, and getting a three channel reciever(the MX-A comes wih a 2 channel reciever) would be expensive. Plus, I would like to have all three gears. Thanks again.

Does the Fork-lift ever go on sale? I have a couple of other questions:
1. What significant changes are noticable when using the real oil shocks for the Tamiya semi trucks?
2. I was interested in getting the 3:1 gear reduction but haven't been able to successfully contact the guy on the web site. I think the 3:1 that attach to the motor end of the X'mission rather than the 4:1 which IMO appear less realistic and visable. Anyone with any idea of how to contact this guy?

A cheap solution might be to get a TQ-3 radio. There was talk of doing this for the Tamiya High-Lift and is where I first heard of it, so I can't vouch for how well it works. If you go to this page, http://www.beatyourtruck.com/projectcrawler-stage7.html, they talk about modifying the radio for 4ws, but the 3rd channel could be used for shifting just as well. And the radios are pretty cheap on ebay.

a 3 channel radio will work fine.you only need first and second ger.third is way to fast to control the truck even with a trailer on it.i run mine off my 3 channel futaba with no problems.or just use the clips and lock it into second gear.itll still take off with a loaded trailer and still have enough speed to have fun with it.

RCE220 R/C Dual-Ended Switch
Switch two things on and off with one transmitter stick! Using only one channel output from your RC receiver, you can drive two independent motors, contactors, or pneumatic/hydraulic solenoids. Great for remotely-operating some of our larger solenoids or relays. Plus, a simple wiring configuration also converts this to a mechanical H-bridge which is perfect for running a single linear actuator or motor in both forward/off/reverse.
When used with an actuator, optional inputs from limit switches permit you to arrest motion in either direction. Silver cadmium oxide relay contacts. Maximum motor/coil load: 12 amps at 30 volts DC inductive.
Fault detection safely switches off both relays if receiver signal is lost.
RCE220
Size
2.85" x 1.90"
Weight
1.59 oz with RC cable
Supply voltage
3.8 - 5.5 VDC
Supply current
20ma standby, 75ma when energized
Switching time
7.0 milliseconds
Load rating
12 amps at 30V DC
An RC Servo lead (10" long) isalready soldered to this unit- you only need to solder on your input/output wires. Price reflects the addition of this servo lead. Connector is universal Futaba/JR style.
Hi Boys just thinking out loud here,
IF i wanted to get rid of the plug between truck & trailer and put in 2nd reciever into the trailer. with the simple task of turn on left/right indicators and brake lights. Do U think this switch would do the trick or has someone come up with any other ideas. I know I would need two of thesel, 1 for turn signals and 1 for brake lights.

mast is 7" no fit inside dry van, to do that u need something less the 5.5"tall
forks are 3"
I tryed with my skidsteer and a PMD dry van and the radio signal died once inside the metal trailer.

Hello all, new person here. I have been contemplating getting a Wedico Peterbilt but have been a little put off by thier unscale looking front axle height. Is there a way to lower the front end so there is not such a big gap between the front tire and fender? It looks like a 4 wheel drive which is fine for an offroad truck but not a over the road truck. Thankyou very much! Darwin

You can take out the spacers that fit between the each of the links. you can also mill down the front axal i littl to lower the front end.
But the esiest weay to go is just drive the model. Over time the springs will sofen and that "gap" will go away and will look more the way it should.

Theres nothing there to prevent the front end from sitting down more. I was also thinking though that you might also beable to use "standerd" springs up ftont too wich are a lot softer and have a lot more give than the "pro" spring that are on most wedico trucks.

No, just a trucker passing thru. Picked up a load in LA, on my way to Fl. Saw these on my way to LA, knew I had to have one! In TX right now.
I would think any Love's truckstop would have them. They have a lot of toys as it gets closer to xmas so it's easier for drivers to get stuff for the little ones (and ourselves!).

So today I went to the hobby store and got some rims from Traxxas 2.2" rears and some 2.2" Dirt Hawg 3 s that are used for buggies. The King Hauler now hauls over the dirt roads like a pro.
