hey, what do you guys think. is it a good price to get a (new in box) tamiya box trailer delivered to my door for $230?

askme

I guess its a good price, I have not really looked around for one yet.

I think I know the answer to this but I want to make sure without having to re-read 70 pages. Will the tamiya trailers fit and work on a wedico? I think that I will be buying that wedico so I need to know. Aparently (if anyone really cares) the guy did buy all the missing parts for it but never put them on. It also have the dual driven axles in the back instead of one powered and one roller so Im really happy about that. I will have this truck in about 2 weeks if I decide to pick this one.

askme
08-29-2005, 09:49 PM
Can someone also please tell me more about the power source for these? Are all wedicos 12 volt or what? What makes them 12 volt, just the motors? Can the motors be changed for stock silver cans from a clodbuster or something? Im running one silver can motor on my txt but I have a gd-600 airplane gear reduction on it for way more torque. Can I do that in the wedico instead of using the 2 motors?

A tlt axle would not be too big? I would like to make a all wheel drive King hauler simaler to what the military uses but with a sleeper cab.

askme
08-29-2005, 10:36 PM
I think the tlt would be just the right size. The bruiser one would be too wide i think.

Ok, lets see...

Devin: $230 is a pretty good price I'd say. Go for it.

Josh: I don't think that the Tamiya trailers will fit the Wedico fifth wheel. The Wedico king pin is alot smaller than Tamiya. All Wedico gear is 12 volts. Lights, ESC, everything. But, Nate will have to verify that...Any more of the technical stuff, well, you will just have to ask Nate.....

Thanks, Josh

Well, unfortionatly you can only use the Buler motors with wedico's transmitionsas the buler motor has 3 mhole to mount to the tranny. But they are only 6,000 RPM motors, with suprisingly great torque, and not much draw on current=longer run times over any of the other motors out there. As far as the 12 volt system goes, Josh is correct the electricl system is 12 volts, as is the motor. So to hook up any motor other than the one wedico suplies would make for one veary fast truck.

As far as wedico trailers to tamiya, or vise versa it is veary posable to do so. all is needed is the corect king pin. How ever becouse wedico and tamiya have difarent ride hight's some slite mods will also be needed to make the trailer travel leval.

If your buying that wedico from the guy that is from the UK, you might want to make sure that the radio is not on 40 mhz. if it is, you will need a new radio, or send that one in to get it converted to 75 mhz. Reson is is that here in the US 40 mhz is an "air" frequency that makes is impasable to make your truck do any thing more than "dance" around with little or no controle at all.

wedicotrucker
08-30-2005, 01:02 AM
the other answer to one of your questions, "what make them 12 volts?"
The wedico system uses a 12 volt battery. 10 sub "c" batteries. some of the guys in our club use 12 volt motor cycle batteries for really long run times.

I'm useing 3300 mah sub "c" batteries in all my rigs. I'm avaging abought an hour and a half run time. Thats with all my lights on, sound on and hualing a 17 lbs load on a 5 lbs trailer.

Askme, how far are you from Tempe?

Thank you guys very much for the replies and info. I dont know if the truck has a radio system with it or not, Ill have to ask about that. Can I run a 10 cell stick pack or will it have to be humped or ?. Do the wedicos come with a 3 speed tranny or is it only a single speed?

I have looked at gardentrucking.com but is there any other sites out there that can tell me alot more details about these trucks?

Thanks again! Josh

Oh and Nate, Im located in Phoenix. Right around 35th ave and glendale.

On the wedico trucks, is a 10 cell brick. Origanoly these trucks do come with a single speed trans, and a single rear diff.

I'm close to Mciclintoch and southern in Tempe. We are trying to have a club get together in or around october. depending on if it gets cool enough.

It wont be untill the heat goes away. Most of the guys in the club are well.....not young.

On the wedico for sell. My guess is its got the 3 speed trans. Over in the UK they have truck rallies that would make us over here look like we dont know what we're doing. So I'm sure that this guys rig has all the goodies it can get. And probily parts you cant get here in the states.

I have seen the get togethers they have in the uk and I am very impressed and jealous. It really just blows my mind at the masive amount of vehicles and things they have going on there. I can only hope that this truck has the 3 speed.

Anyone have any good links for the uk trucking scene? Ill post mine in a little bit.

I have a few, but are too big to fit on this site. I have them posted on a yahoo massage board. to get there, go to www.gardentrucking.com then go to the links section, go to the last link on the last page. Just curious if anyone's ever used a light oil like '3 in one' multipurpose oil in their diffs instead of Tamiya's kit supplied grease.

I put some in the rear diff of my Knight Hauler and it makes the gears much quieter and smoother. Any ill effects on the plastic housing to be concerned about? I'm still debating whether to leave it in there.

I tried a bit of RC diff oil, but the stuff is way too thick. Any thoughts?

We're a growing bunch here in AZ thats for sure. Only abought 3 people in this group that I know of are here in AZ you Turbojoe and my self, and only a hand full in the yahoo groups as well. With shows like the big boys and there toys show bring this hobby out to the public so they can see that theres more to the r/c hobby than just the race cars.

Yea, exposure really helps. My rock crawling group put on a couple of "shows" at d&d hobbies in mesa and the number of people at the comps and get togethers trippled.

Hmmm. For some reason I haven't been getting notifications of new posts to this thread.

Yes, I'll try to show up for a meeting. Flying takes up most of my RC time but I'd really like to meet some of the other truckers out there. It should be fun.

As far as the events at D&D Hobbies P.M me when they have something happening as I live less than a mile from them. Todd and Frank are pretty good guys. I really miss Dave though. He's running the slot car track out in A.J. I need to run out there and say hi to him.

I really don't pay a lot of attention to the monster truck stuff but it should be fun to watch now and then. I've got a Nitro Quake sitting on the shelf that I haven't run since I broke it in about three years ago. Maybe I ought to drag it out and run it someday. It's been sitting there full of after-run oil. I must have $300.00 worth of spare parts for it too.

Joe, alot has changed to the track sence you where here last. the roads are being replaced with cement, so the next storm we get whont distroy it.
New additions will includ an over pass, with a short ramp to the gravil pit for dumping. It will also have a more detailed truck stop, with gas staion. If I can fanegal a fork lift from Ric, I will also build a ware house to load and unload trailers.

So far the under pass has been paved, and now working on the over pass. as its still in the tripple digets the only work thats being done first thing in the moring. Thats 1-2 a.m. Whonce the weather cools down again the track should be real close to being done. After that I'll start trying to get every one together. It will most likely be on a saturday moring, or evening.

Well I am trading off my txt-1 crawler for a king hauler. The body needs paint and I need an esc for it but Ill have my 3 channel hpi remote to use on it for now so Ill atleast be able to switch 2 of the gears. Ill have this in about a week and my weidco should be here soon also. This is kinda crazy how Im going from no trucks to 2 all at once. Ill either slam the king hauler like previously stated or Ill paint it up real nice and sell/trade it for a trailer for the wedico. We shall see.

I have an old teken esc that I think is still good. last time I used it was in my mountaineer.

I also am thinking abought selling the 6 chanel radio thats in my wedico tow truck, I 'm thinking its going to need more operating chanels before its commpleate.

I don't have a need for a hilux driver anymore, I traded my mountaineer for my wedico heavy hauler. on the raio I'm going to have to hold off on selling it for at least a few months or untill Ric, can get in his new polk radio systemin, but when I sell it, I'm thinking I'd like to get at least $75.00 for it. Its an Airtronics VG600 6 chanel but its on 72 mhz.

hey all. i have been doing some testing on motors for tamiya trucks. since i went to the indy show and saw how much slower the wedico's run, i wanted to slow mine down. i didn't want to buy three gear reduction trannies(since i have three trucks), so i started playing with motor windings. i have a friend who custom winds motors so i asked him to help. we came up with a couple of different motors, and they work really well. slowed the trucks way down without gear reduction and they have a ton of pulling power. my buddy may start making them to sell if enough people show interest. give me a shout if you want more info.

Joe, the gas stations at my house :)

For those who where at Indy my dad bought that gas staion that Lee brought, I replaced the wooden "pumps" with hobico diorama "gas pumps" that are digital, and back lit. Now I need to work on light for the cealing. I'm thinking of using white neon lights as all you really need to see, is that its illuminated.

Just my dad and I. We got the over pass done last nite....well actualy 1:30 this moring. There is 14 inches of clearance from the ground to the veary bottom of the over pass. The over pass was constucted out of 2"x2" square tubing, with cement board on top of it. So it should soprt the wieght of any passing truck. Now for the rest of the track.......

Hmmm....It more depends on how you want to drive the truck. I would not go with Tamiya's setup, as it is a little harder to use (in my opinion). I put my throttle on the elevator stick, and my steering on the aileron stick (more or less, all driving is done with the right stick, and all functions are done with the left stick). So, if you want it to work more like Tamiya's setup, plug your ESC into channel #3. If you want it to work more like my setup, plug your ESC into channel #2 (I think I have those channel numbers right...). And no, you should not need a seperate battery pack just for the radio. You radio gear will run off the BEC from your ESC.

I am new to this forum and will be purchasing a Knight hauler and a trailer, flatbed or van. If you add trailer lights, do you have to cut your own hole in the cab or is it there already? As of tonight Friday 09/16/05 the truck track is now half way done. The surface of the track is cement board with sand leveled off under neeth the board for a good hard base. Now for the other end of the yard, that will get the same treatment. After that placing the building and the John Deere dealership and the loging operation.
Looks like by late september we will be open for play.

I haven't touched my truck in so long I forgot how to operate the lights & trailer legs etc. Batteries are dead too. I got so caught up in the heli and new planes that the truck just sits on the entertainment center looking pretty.
With the heli rotor blades folded back and locked in their holder it looks good on the flatbed trailer. I'll try to take a picture later. I guess I should charge the batteries and see if she'll "start up" again. ;)

Now all I need is a paint truck to piant the lines on the road way. also need a little more cemment on the on ramp of the over pass as the angle is far too drastic for the trucks to get a good bite. You almost need to get a running start at it to get your truck up the ramp. I'll see tommorrow abought a for sure day to play.

hey everyone, how is it going. i just got my mfu in the mail yesterday, and all i can say at this point is, wow what have i got myself into. there is so much wiring and lights and things that its kinda scaring me. i just got a chance to look at it for a little bit and flip through the instructions, they look pretty detailed which is typical for tamiya, so it may not be as bad as i am thinking. i still need to paint the body for it, but thats gonna have to wait as i am doing a remodel on our house, hopefully i will finish up this coming week and then i can work on this thing for a while. well i will talk to you guys later, jason

Turbojoe
09-22-2005, 09:58 PM
Jason,

Go ahead and install the speaker into the proper housing. Then hook it up and just let it idle while you run all the other wiring. I swear you'll start to worry the engine is going to start running hot from idling so long. It's that realistic!

There IS a ton of wiring to do but get a MESS of small wire ties and go at it. Don't try to get it all done in one shot or you'll go nuts. Just take it slow and enjoy it.
Wait until you start switching lights on and off, raising and lowering the legs, honking the horn etc. All the work will be worthwhile.

hey guys thanks for the input. i couldnt do it all at once if i wanted to because i worry a lot about the electrical part of this hobby i dont want to mess anything up so i am constantly rechecking everything i do. i havent looked real close at the instructions but does the speaker mount in a box in the aeromax or just screw to the inside of the cab, i thought i read that somewhere. either way i want to try and put it in a box to make it sound better. well thanks again for the help hopefully next week i can get started on this thing again i have been itchin to finish this thing for so long. i will talk to you later, jason

I JUST NOW got my King hauler. Its a bucket but I think Im going to like it. I do have all the chrome parts but they are all kinda messed up so Ill probably be painting all of it. Is there supposed to be shocks on the rear end? There are shocks on the front.

What do you guys think?

Not bad. Do you have all the body parts that go to the body? I think it should look a lot better with a good coat of paint.

Also did you get that wedico? If so Bring both trucks to our get together.

Oh and I got my truck running. Im just using a 3 channel hpi pistol remote so I can select between 1st gear and third. It really gets up and goes in third. I made the mistake of turning while going pretty fast and rolled the front tires off the rim. Im just glad I didnt flip the truck. I think Im going to like this trucking thing but I know my king will be converted to all wheel drive and ill perhaps make a rear box section or something.

I just found out that precision models will be carrying a front wheel drive axel, and a transfer case for tamiya as well as a drop deck trailer scaled to fit tamiya trucks.

Askme just a sugjestion, but you might whant to think abought a lower rpm motor and a gear reduction unite to slow your truck down. this way when your in 3rd you whont have to worry abought rolling your truck over if you make a sharp turn. It will also help with run time too. As well as give a little more pulling power.

09-29-2005, 08:31 PM
Can the great planes gd-600 fit on the tranny? Thats what I was using on my txt and it worked very well but it was also very loud. I am also going to modify my hpi remote with a 3 position switch for the 3rd channel so that I can select all 3 gears. My truck really doesnt have very good traction, the tires seem to be very slick on all surfaces. Even in the street. Any ideas on what I can do to get more traction? Has anyone locked one rear diff to increase power transfer? Im tired of spinning the tires and going nowhere when I barely loose traction with 1 tire. And yet another question, My driveshaft seems to be just a little short and sometimes pops out of the socket. Has this happened to anyone else?

wedicotrucker
09-29-2005, 10:19 PM
precision models sells a low rpm high torque motor for tamiya 3 speed tranies. As far as tracion goes try bending the rear spring upward I had this problim on my heavy hualer untill I replaced my springs. You can also try using a traction compound used on r/c race cars that race on carpet. You can also put a dab of j.b. weld inside the diff gears to lock up one or both rear diffs. theres a guy I know in Canada that has modified his truck to accept touring car style wheels with tamiya off road tires and has even put bb's in each wheel to wheight down the rear of the truck for better traction on loose dirt.

I dont know what to tell you abought the drive shaft poping out. on the wedico truck you can just cut a new drive shaft.

askme
09-30-2005, 06:38 AM
Bend the rear spring upward? What do you mean by this? I think Ill get some of that traction compound and try that also. I think that I will throw some silly putty inside my diffs so that if I ever decide to undo it, I can. Are the wedico tires any different than the tamiya's? Would they fit on my truck?

Sorry for asking so many stupid questions but Im very excited about this thing, if you couldnt tell. HAHA

Also wedico tires are not as tall as tamiyas.

And yes bend the springs up ward so your basicly pushing the axel twords the ground. Last nite just to see how it would work placed a peace of foam inside the diff on his truck, it works well kind of acts like a limited slip diff. I dont know how long it would last though as over time the foam would break down.

http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a197/minitruckerjosh/Mvc-093s.jpg

The body really needs to be soaked in brake fluid because the previous owner has 5 different colors on it and I tried to sand it all and make it smooth but it just wasnt happening. It looks great from about 5 feet away but up close, oh man! The body color is black with transperent candy red sprayed over it. Inside the house it looks brownish or VERY dark purple but when the sun hits it the red shows. The chrome parts are just painted gloss black and I think it looks pretty bad ass like this. I am going to do the front and rear bumpers and the mud flap holders in black also. Ill leave the tanks and the steps how they are and I want to polish all the grab handles and I still need to make some very shiney exhaust stacks, unless the wedico units will fit my truck. After the get together Ill get rid of this paint job and strip the body down to the plastic and my new color will be silver base coat with candy orange. Ill also keep all the black parts black. Sorry to ramble on but I have had 2 hours of sleep in the last 30 hours and Im just too tired to sleep.

The only guy I know that has a spare tamiya trailer is Ric from gardentrucking.com I know he would have no truble bringing it on request. Its a tanker trailer should look good behind your king hualer. If your wedico truck should show up there will be plenty of trailers to choose from if you dont have a trailer for it.

Also, a friend of mine threw together a little truck with a flatbed. Would this beater be welcome at the event or would it be laughed out of there? It is kinda like a work truck because of the flat bed and he is going to try and rig up a dump bed. He isnt done with the trim yet and has a couple things to do to it to make it look better. I do have a novak super rooster esc with deans connectors I don't think I have any more deans connectors however. but I will indeed let you use it. as far as that cool looking uni mog style truck its most welcome. As far as the types of trucks, we will have at least 1 bulldozer and 1 catipillar 966 G bucket loader, at least 1 logging truck, my heavy equipent hauler my tow truck I don't think I'll have my dump truck working but we will have my dads dump trailer, and his "west coast hauler" a mercedes cag over, another guy should be bringing his dump truck, and more to come. If the guy from Chicago fly's out we'll have some r/c farm tractors as well. also we all run on 75 mhz, so 27 mhz should not be a problem. you might want to bring a charger though as all our chargers are for 12 volt batteries.

Oh yeah we might also have a working fork lift as well. Never the less there will be plenty of equipment to play with for sure.

jrventurekid
10-07-2005, 11:13 PM
The shortest run I have ever had was on an old 1500 pack, at maybe 15 minutes. On an in-expensive 3000 pack, I get anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour. Thats running with the tanker (9lbs) on level pavement, 2nd and 3rd gear.

wedicotrucker
10-08-2005, 12:19 AM
my shortest run time was 15 min. with a 1500 mah pack and a charger that did not charge well. now I have chager that WORKS!!! and a cheap 3300 mah pack and my run times depend on whether or not I have a load and running all the lites.

Running with the lites I get 1 hour 30 minutes of run time.
adding my 5 lbs trailer w/lites I get 1 hour 29 minutes of run time.
adding a bucket loader @ 17lbs to my 5 lbs trailer 1 hour 20 minutes of run time.

my truck also has a 6,000 rpm motor and a 4:1 gear reduction auxilery trans. and running a 12 volt electrical system. One of the guys in our trucker club uses a 12 volt motor cycle batery and he wore the diff joints out befor the battery died.

You only need a 4 channel radio. The other functions are controlled with trim combinations. It works very well but you just have to remember which trim combo controls what. I've already forgotten on mine. I can't remember how to switch between horn and 5th wheel control. Guess I'll have to dig out the manual again.

Why all the concern about minimum run time? Start thinking about maximum fun time.

But i also want to put these on the truck to:

it requires an open reciver slot. Will a 4 channel still work? and will i get good run times?

Were can i get the king hauler the cheapest? cheaper then tower?

If you get a 4 chanel radio there will still be 1 extra slot for a reciever battery, but bec tecnoligy means this battery is no longer needed so you have that reciever slot open.

But if you want to add strobe lites and want the ability to turn them on and off you will need a 5 chanel radio.

As for me I have a wedico, so as far as the set up on the mfcu, I'm a dry well.

On my trucks I use 6 chanel minimum. on my heavy haul truck I have an 8 chanel radio and still need more chanels.
I'm trying to talk a guy out of a Robbe F-14 expandible radio system, that has the compacity to run up to 153 yes thats 153 differant functions. This is the prefered radio in Europe.
But unfortionatly its no longer being offered in the U.S.

The most obvious is the bodies but I think the chassis layout is a bit different betweent the trucks. Correct me if Im wrong guys but arnt they all the same except for just the electronics holder under the body?

As far as the 2 extra lights on that trailer, why not just add them to the wires?

Anything with an led is not going to drain your pack enough to notice the difference. Maybe if you had like 150 led's on your truck and you were running them all from the main 7.2 volt battery you may see a difference.

Cody, did you read all 75 pages of this topic? When I joined this topic it was 69 pages long and I read most of it. You will learn alot about these things and see some cool trucks also.

I wonder if you can run a 12 volt battery with the mfu???

I usualy haul my 1/16 scale die-cast tractors. But at the Pheonix and Indy show's I haul a 17 lbs Cat bucket loader, a 27 lbs bulldozer and an excavator that wieghs in at abought 20 lbs. then my tow truck hauls what ever I need to tow. My tow truck has dual motors so I can pull any thing that I can hook up too. Once I put in a 4:1 gear reduction unite in it there will be no stoping my tow truck.

My tow truck is still a work in progress. I bought the truck used from a guy in NY, I then bought the tow bed from precision model distributor out of Mesa AZ www.gardentrucking.com Ric, may still have them in stock however Wedico no longer manufacters the tow bed for a 3 axel chasis, they do however still make one for a 4 axel chasis. I think I paid close to $500.00 dollers for my tow bed. Every thing on it is functional by the radio. The only thing it does not do is lower and raise the mast. I'll try and resize the pic later tonight.

Most of the lowboys I've seen are home made. The only guy I know that has them for sale is Ric, from precision models, he also has a tamiya dump trailer kit as well. I don't think he has them on his web site yet but you can give him a call or shoot him an e-mail for a price quote. He should be able to e-mail you some pics. There are some pics on this forum of wedico "euro style" lowboys. These are trailers that steer from the rear end.

my trucks have 4:1 gear reduction transmitions instaled so there slowed down to a more scaled speed. 3rd gear is just slower than I can walk. so maybe 2 1/2 to 3 mph. other wise its 15mph.

jrventurekid
10-11-2005, 11:35 AM

I would agree with 15mph.

Cody, my truck would come with motor, remote, receiver, 2 servos and a 3300 battery pack. You need an esc. The radio is a hpi 3 channel and you can switch between 1st gear and 3rd.

From past experiance I stay away from gas or rather nitro.

Liembach, but this dozer is heavily modified from Mich, he's the heli pilot. These dozers can be bought through precision models. Mich also built that Dozer that was at the Indy show. Although that one was "stock apering".

Yes that is a the wedico drop deck allthought I also have there low loader as well. The "swift" trailer is made here in the good "ol" U.S.A. by Precision Model's.

Josh as for the wedico truck, its a conventional same truck as what I have. as far as hop ups dos not look like it has any need a shot of it upside down. the electrical system looks like it might be the good one but can't really tell. But still a great truck and an awsome deal.

10-18-2005, 11:52 AM
Josh looking at the pics a bit harder I see that it does have the second rear diff. but it looks like it has the old electrical system whitch wedico has stoped maked some time ago, the truck looks to be the same age as my heavy hauler, maybe 1983-84 so to make your truck work with todays electrial systems that one will most likly have to go :( Also seems to be missing a air horn, and the dimand plate on the steps, no biggie these parts can be easily replaced.

Josh, believe it or not this was the first time every one that has these trucks here in AZ all came togetherat the same time. I have not seen Mitch, the guy with the black and yellow dozer scence I met him at a hobby show in Los Vagas, last year. And the first time I ever met Willard the guy with the black pete and flat bed trailer. The next get together might be awhile, looks like I'll be working weekends for the next few months. Let me know when you get your truck, I'll have a mini get together. I'm suprized that no one really ran there trucks that much. I would kind of like to do the next one in the evening that way you can see all the cool lights on these trucks. I chose the morring this last time as I knew more people would be able to make it, and I knew it would be a bit cooler than if we did it around the after noon time. But I'm pretty much game for what ever. Just let me know what you think.

Thanks for the info on my truck. How much does the electrical set cost? What exactly is the older setup not compatible with? I am VERY happy that it has the dual rear drive diffs, it would suck to have only one opperating set of rear wheels. The guy says that he has replacement stacks and the other missing body parts and they are new in the package so atleast I wont have to worry about that. I hope that this truck has the 3 speed tranny. Im not too crazy about the 5th wheel or the rear part of the chassis, can the chassis be upgraded to something a little more realistic?

wedicotrucker
10-18-2005, 10:08 PM
Yes!! the chasis can indeed be up graded. Wedico offers a "pro chasis" that looks a million times better as well as an aluminum 5th wheel. the truck you have like I said is the same truck I have only.........well..........stock, and the coller is obviuosly differant. If I'm correct abought that electrical system it won't work with the radio system's we have here in the U.S. mainly no horn, no sound. The upgraded electrical system I have in all my trucks is a heavy duty system wich can handle more apm draw for more lighting with out over heating. it also gives you "trailer functions" this allows you to operate 2 functions on the trailer, like on my drop deck trailer I can raise and lower the ramps with out touching the truck, I can also operate a lighting function, or lower the landing gear or what ever els my brain can come up with. Like I said I bought my heavy hauler used when I got it, I got with it the old style electrical system, same chasis it looked just like your only yellow. As soon as I found out that electrical system was not compatable with the U.S. radios nor could I use it for any of the currant trailers, or electrical upgrades I whent with this electrical system, part number 782. its not cheap by any means list is abought $240.00. This should still be correct if the doller has not fallen to the euro lately. When you get this truck you will have people here that can help you out with all your questions. Most of the time will most likely be through Ric. As he has the parts you'll want, and the knowllage that far surpasses evry one else's.

Next time your here I'll show you what my truck looked like when I first got it and you can see just how far it came to the way it curantly looks.

The US radios dont work with the old wedico electronic unit because why? Is it just the fact that I wont be able to honk the horn or what?

please note that the trail king lowboys are 1/24th scale. if looking for a lowboy trailer there is ones made in 1/16th scale. one would need to e-mail bill musgrave at ( billybmusgrave@yahoo.com ) and ask for info and pics on the lowboys he makes.

The sound unite wich includes the horn. It puts 12 volts to the reciever. So the reciever will fry. You will need to run a reciever battery. You can make it work you just wont get all the functions out of it.

I'm building a truck for Ric, right now and the new sound system dose not need to run a infared unite on the motor armiture. Wish my heavy hauler had this sound unite.

Alrighty, thanks for the info. Do you have any pics of rics truck?

I guess as long as I can use it to make the truck move Ill be happy for the time being. Maybe I can build a resister to drop the voltage down to 7 or whatever the receiver needs.

Also, was it the really long red truck that had that infrared system on it that controls the trailer lights and functions so you dont have to plug it into the truck? Can you tell me more about that

And here is yet another question. When you buy a wedico is it just a rolling chassis with no electronics at all or what all does it come with? I am interested in buying the COE and so is wes.

Ric no longer carries the complete truck set up. So now its just a rolling chasis, this makes it a little cheaper in the long run. But the rolling chasis's have some upgrades as stock, such as the aluminum 5th wheel, pro chasis, and upgraded front axel.

The truck I'm building is a custom painted pete, its matalic maroon. When you see it you will know what one it is. This is a truck that just abought every one thats seen it want's it.

The tamiya king hauler is 1/14 scale so to put it in full scale would look somthing like a full size 18 wheeler pulling a pop up tent trailer.

Nope, they will not work. The trailer is too small. You need to find a low boy around 1/14 or 1/16 scale to get the right look.

Speaking of the globeliner package, my friend is very interested in it and he is trying to get the money together. Recent car problems are keeping him from having the extra cash.

Nate, that truck looks great. I can only hope that my wedico will turn out that nice.

hey everyone. i've been out of touch with the r/c truck world for a little while-been busy-but i have been working on all of my trucks. i now have a 3:1 gear reduction in my king hauler, a 80 turn motor in my knight hauler, and a 110 turn in my aeromax, and i've got some photo's comming of my latest project. i have tried to "americanize" my tamiya box trailer. i also made a frame for my pole trailer. well, gotta go i will post pics tomorrow.

Hey Devin, sounds like you've been keeping your self buisy at least. :) Where did you get your 110 turn motor from? scratch built or is some one making them?

i used to work at a shop that wound motors and matched batteries. i am still in touch with the owner, and he and i are testing different combo's to try to get one that he may put on the market.

the 110 turn in a tamiya truck slowes it way down and gives it a ton of torque(and run time). it still is not quite as slow as the wedico trucks, but we are getting there (without gear reduction).

Cody, you dont need a failsafe with any electric r/c. Its only for nitro stuff.
