Which pipe has more low-end punch...the mip stinger exhaust, or one of those cvec dual outlet pipes? And would I beable to fit a cvec on a mip header and shocktower set-up?

whens the stampede gonna get an engine upgrade like the rustler? and im wearing DC shoes right now
dcshoelover
08-22-2002, 11:07 PM
They only said sompthin about the rustler and 4tec being updated. Im sure you could put in the new 2.5 or whatever it is tho. So do you skate or what?

08-22-2002, 11:50 PM
if you put a wheelie bar on your stampede wouldnt it work just fine with a 2.5 engine in it? also you could make a wheelie bar that touches the ground at all times so if couldnt pop wheelies at all
Brandon

08-23-2002, 04:41 AM
never popping wheelies would suck! its 2wd so wheelies are a good thing. oh yea i skate, recently been getting into some old school pogo type stuff.
The 2.5 will fit directly onto the Nitro Stampede. But the pede is already overpowerd as it is, think we should mess with that??. . . . . .yep!:D
I'll be getting a 2.5 ASAP
dcshoelover
08-27-2002, 11:06 PM
There was someone on here before talking about putting a .21 in his pede, think of that kina wheelie power! Anyone know how much this new engine is gunna cost? And could you possibly exchange the old one for the new one?
The new engine is 165.99 at tower and I think we are going to ba able to exchange the engines in their exchange program. But your gonna have to pay somethuing like 90 for the new engine.

Well I guess that's better than $165!

I have a Pro Ball Differential w/bearings for sale. I personally built it myself and used all the necessary steps to make it better than Traxxas's ways. I bought it new and Hobbytown for 60, but I will sacrifice it here for 20+s/h.

where can i get a new .15,body,front body mount, stock exhaust for it at?? i know about tower but do they carry the front body mount and the stock exhaust for it:confused:

Tower carries everything for the npede, just go into the npede, then click on replacement parts, or search the parts individually.

PLEASE HELP!!
I've tuned and tuned and reset the needles to the factory settings and I get nothing. If I can get it to run, it will only run while I press the button on the EZ Start thingy (and it only did that once). After that all it would do is spit fuel out the exhaust. So naturally I think its waaaay rich and lean it out some and still nothing.
I have bought new glow plugs, but the blue wire won't fit over them so I have to wait until I get an igniter.
This is really getting depressing. I've seen all these pics of other folks having so much fun with their pede while mine sits on my desk, mocking me :(
Oh, and I should make a point to say that I had run about two tankfulls out before it started to act up.
So does anybody have any ideas?
dcshoelover

You should be able to widen the ez start wire to fit over any glowplug.

im breaking in the new engine in my new pede, i got a .18 for it, wow, that thing is fast. i also added some traction bars just for cool looks. one thing about this thread that bothered me, all the pics of yours guys trucks, they are wayyy too clean. lol mine is just plain gross after i run it. oil, and fuel all over the place, and its a freaking dirt magnet!! dirt and dust everywhere, i definately appreciate the cleanlieness of electric, but nitro is really cool too. well ill see you guys later.

i was just wondering, does anybody have any problems with spur gears stripping? i have gone through about 5 in 3 days. it seems no matter what i do, when ever i go in the dirt, it stripps. on the street it is fine, they will last a really long time, but as soon as i take it in the dirt, it strips within a minute. i know how to set the mesh and all that but it ticks me off that i cant go off road.

R6905- thanks. i try to make them look nice, its a mrc m10-s that i converted to a monster truck, sort of, just big tires, new shock positions and a body lift. it has a ton of hop ups but i wont go into detail cause it takes a while for me to write all the stuff down. :D i also have a tamiya wild dagger that i play with but it doesnt have anything special on it, yet :D i plan to do a lot to the dagger. but my new toy is the stampede, but yeah maybe im just retarded or something but i go through spur gears quite a bit, but thats ok, cause i got hook ups. i can get them for only 1$ :) ill have to take a pic of al three of my trucks soon, but ill put up another pic of the mrc, dagger, and stampede later.
Nice truck. The spur problem loosen the slipper clutch a tad. Or you could go get a steel spur. A lot of people bad mouth those steel spurs but I have one and that truck has gone though hell and back a few times and the spur doesnt have one nick in it. I just like steel gears period but I have to reccomend it.

I'm lookin for a replacement pipe for my pede does anyone have any good suggestions? I have a MIP stinger but the pipe keeps coming off and the truck is loud with it. When the pede runs you cant even here my .21 tmaxx going. I want something with good low end and decent high end, I dont really care where it goes side or 360 just lookin for something durable.
dcshoelover
10-14-2002, 10:05 PM
From what I here the cvec has nice low end. I wonder if you can't mount a cvec pipe on a mip 360 header and shock tower setup. Thatd be cool huh?!?
geofroley
10-15-2002, 03:21 PM
yes yes yes get the cvec.i have one on my pede and it pumps out ridiculous power.
dcshoelover
10-15-2002, 07:41 PM
Do you have it mounted on the side? Is it at all possible to mount it ina mip set up.
I have a CVEC pipe and I used to use it on the pede, it made insane power. I think I will go out and buy the 360 header. I want to move the pipe out the rear or up more.

Yeah how much does a nitro pede cost? Can I get it in a kit or just ready to run?
dcshoelover
10-16-2002, 09:26 PM
Its something like 240 for the kit and 280 for rtr.
geofroley
10-17-2002, 01:49 PM
yes it does come in an rtr.it costs around like 200 bux,but i dont remember.youll need a charger for the easy start,a dynamite nitro wrench, and servo and radio batteries.and of course youll need gas.the performance is very well.one hop up you should get is an rpm bumber.the stock bumper doesnt protect the suspension.

hey i gots a problem w/ my stampede. i keep snapping the rear axels so i bought some cvd's for the stampede, however when i installed the drive cups and the cvd's, i would give it throttle and the ball would pop out of the cup. its like the shaft isnt long enough but the package said "fits nitro stampede" is there something else i have to do to make them stay?
dcshoelover
10-21-2002, 11:43 AM
I know a lot of people that have this problem. In the packge of cvd's there was some plastic washers, U can put them inbetween the drive cups and the tranny case. That pushes them out alittle bit. Another thing you can do is, on the bearing carriers, there is 2 different holes for the pis to go through, if you move the pin to the uppr hole, that helps too. Oh and washers between the bearing and the part where the axle and cvd meet helps keep the cvd from sliding around abit.

hey i have a question for you guys. after i got my stampede, it was used, i bought it from my friend, after a few runs, the battery pack box cover thing was really nasty, all covered with fuel residue and dirt, really gross. anyway i pulled the muffler out and the metal tube had melted the plastica and was leaking all over the car. so i bought a new muffler and it stopped, but then about 3 days ago, i noticed that it was really nasty again, i pulled it out, but it looked fine, no holes or anything, but its all gross again, are your guys trucks like that or is it just mine?

I'm rebuilding a beat up stampede i bought (that's why i have sooo many questions, lol..) but i converted the front hub system to the elctric pede system.. it didn't make sense to me to have the bearings in the wheels... so the hub system now is hex based system where the front wheels are attached to the axle similiar to the rear wheels (the wheel attaches to the hex which is attached to the axle with a stub pin). I'm now finding that the front wheels don't turn particularly when the wheel is turning inward... So if you are facing the car from the rear of the car the right wheel doesn't turn well when the car is turning left and the left wheel is not turning well when the car is turning right... is this normal? I've never had a 2 wheel drive car??? Has anyone else tried this conversion...??

12-27-2002, 01:29 AM
I paid $25 plus shipping back then..it might have gone up..., I used the A-arms, c-hubs, and the rpm bearing carrier from the electric pede to make it work...check out this site for the max adaptors ; http://lindquistproductions.com/heavy_throttle/
big2wons
12-27-2002, 02:31 AM
I figured out why my front wheels weren't turning... The offsets for the electric and n pede front wheels are different (as well as the rear).. If you convert your n pede front wheel system to the electric system and you want to keep the 2.2 tire size you MUST get wheels with deep offsets. In other words the wheel must connect to the hex hub almost at the very edge of the inner part of the wheel.. So your wheel should look very shallow if you look at where the hex hub goes and very deep if you look at it from the where the nut tightens the wheel to the hub... You need to get wheels that make your car as wide as possible... If you put electic pede wheels on a nitro pede, you'll see that the car will get noticably narrower...
I used megatech wheels for the tempest gladiator... I still needed a spacer between the wheel and the hex hub as well as a washer between the wheel and the nut that holds the wheel to the axle... it was a pain to figure out... the megatech wheels are deep wheels, but are still not ideally deep enough... These 2.2 wheels suck... i wish there was a universal system similiar to the ones for touring cars....
I didn't want the maxx wheels cause i don't really know this car as well as most do and there are gearing issues with using tires that large... you're acceleration will be dramatically effected.. for those who are using maxx tires, what gears are you using?

big2wons
01-09-2003, 02:01 AM
Nobody makes a two speed... I don't believe there's a way you can fit inside the tranny case??? besides, with the truck being two wheel drive, it would be hard to control the darn thing...
dont slow down
01-09-2003, 04:30 PM
for me the darn thing is already too hard to control at top speed, a little too much steering input and the thing is a cartwheel machine! lol, i wouldnt even want a two speed. if you want more speed, try gearing up a little bit, or get a faster engine. those are the two best ways to get more speed, and you could try a tuned pipe, if you dont already have one. when i added mine, i got quite a bit more bottom end, and some more top end. so try those if you want more speed.

My question is this...how can i make it turn. at slow speeds it doesn't turn well at all, and at full speed the two front tires are 4" off the ground. are their any suspension parts that i need for turning/handling?
How should i be adjusting the suspension?
thanks for any help

01-15-2003, 03:45 PM
depending on what servo thats in there, you could try a better servo. also, you could try softer springs in the rear to help keep the front wheels on the ground. i find that its best to have you front tires, straight up and down, and straight forward. no toe in or what not. i have a hard time keeping the wheels on the ground too, you will learn how to do it, it just takes practice. have fun with it. if you have any questions, ill be happy to help.

Well, i just got my pede back up and running, and got some new rims and tires. i put my engine back together, had some difficulty starting it, re broke it in, put on my new paddle tires, and headed to the beach. those paddles, when propelled by .18 engine, wow, what a roost! i had a ton of fun just cruisin around and thowin up some sand. some guy stopped and offered me 350 for it, but i like it too much to sell it right now. got some proline agitator rims for it and they look awesome. ill get some pics and some videos of my pede runnin around. im still working out all the bugs and such with the videos. they will come though.

Yeah I finaly got my pede up and runnin too. Had it flyin up my dirt hill of a front yard and through the neighbors grass too. Well I got it to the top of my hill, and the wheel falls off. So I take it inside and start the project of getting the nt back on the axle. These mip nuts for the cvds are like a hair bigger than the original axles, and you can't really fit a socket thingy into the stock rims to put these things on. So I get the wheel back on, get her rippin outside again, and this time the wheel comes off when im doin like 30 towards my hill. So the wheel rols down my hill and across the road, and this time i've lost the nut for sure. But I work ina hardware store so it's all good.
And so ends another adventure...of Brougham - thee unstopable Npede!

hey guys i have a replacement of bearfoot built..:D the chassis is a "clone" of digger.;)
as far as my clubtruck...it is together but the n-sport engine proved stronger than i expected...lol
so i played with the throttle linkage to slow it down more..when i get my camera processed ill post pics of it....the trucks official name is "spare parts"....simply because thats where it came from...lol:D

i was successfull in slowing it down for beginners...:)
i can adjust the linkage by the trim control enuff to make it fun for me to drive also...lol:D
im now ready for racing season so i can campaign my club truck to get new would-be r/cers involved in this great hobby we all share...
the lil truck handles super...take-off(when trim is wide-open)aint bad plus top end aint too shabby either..:) truck is geared 16/72 so its quick off the start...lol

You basically have three good options. The .15 OS CRV-X is a good reliable upgrade. The Megatech M16 and the Fantom FR15 are also good choices. I would recomend you look at those and decide, but personally i would go with the Megatech M16.

I think traxxas should come out with a kit that is good with cvds that has no engine or radio string light fast one. that would be a awsome kit not there cheap plastic kits. I know I have had several traxxas kits and they all break aspecially the drive shaft. I think they need a new kit.

anyone who is running the full stinger set-up!!!
the 360* header causes your engine to run lean and hot, put on the stock rear shock tower ((minor modification)) and put on the stock header ((bore out if nessessary)) then put then rear body mount back on, some zip ties...
You have no idea how much better and longer lasting your engine will be... no one believes me but it's true, ask anyone who has a clue at your lhs.... if you dont believe me try it, keep it the way it is, then switch ((bore out the header, massive power)) the motor will run cooler and longer, perfromance difference none, it's just engine life and temps
try it!

Try parma, I know they have some, they have a dakota body that I will be picking up to match my full size. Look at the description, make sure it doesn't say t-maxx,mgt or the likes, it should say 1/10th. HPI has some and so does proline, you just have to look at the description.

Hey Guys, Just got a N-Pede for nothing (literally, nothing :D ) and have decided to restify it, beef it up, and modify it so it looks like E-Pede (sorry about the pic, I need new pics of the truck.)
Heres what I've got in mind;
Ditch the whole stock suspension, with the exeption of shock towers, for the E-Pede suspension, RPM 5x11 bearing carriers, Big Bore Shocks, Trinity Maxx springs, Hardened steel outdrives, Traxxas aluminum wheel hexes, 0 degree rear arm mounts, Trinity hinge pin brace, Lundsford 3.5mm tierods/turnbuckles, maybe Revo ball ends (if they will use 3mm screws to mount to the chassis and knuckles), new bearings, T-Maxx servos, new servo saver (Kimbrough), and maybe HPI Nitro MT2 wheels and tires.
Since it doesn't have an engine; get a 2.5R, MIP T-Maxx race clutch (higher stall speed), try to find a better pipe that the stock Rustler/4-Tec pipe or the Traxxas Blue pipe (I'm not too sure if it has enough flow for that engine,..wonder if a Revo pipe will work?), RRP E-Maxx slipper clutch assembly, and T-Maxx gas tank moved as far forward on the chassis as possible. That's all I can think of at the moment....

Mine maybe gone, i would hate to see it go i really like the truck alot, i have over 400 into it and ive used it 3 times lol, i dont like getting it to dirty its a nice park truck i recommend the Steel Spur gear from MIP, i have it on my pede it makes a world of difference and its fully adjustable. You can make it a track truck or a stunt(wheelie) truck, The TRX 2.5 is a great motor to stick in the pede, I would recommend it to anyone who asks, The best part was i had to do no coustom work so when somehting breaks i can go to the LHS and Buy the parts :)
