Just when you think they can't come up with anything cooler....very impressive, I may have to pick one up myself..... :)

Typical, I get the first Mil. and now a newer one!! Anyways $US265 is way too much for a poor kiwi like me, thats like NZ$660 then theres postage. Well I think the old Mil is great anyways. So some lucky buggers out there will be able to get the older one dirt cheap as all the cheque book racers upgrade.

The integrated pit wizard is a great idea, if you don't have a PW and are looking for a charger its really not a bade price / features comparison. Its on my list :)

Cool idea, but I'm like poor kiwi, I just bought the older one. Oh well, it was way cheaper, and I have no use for a pit wizard anyway. Cool idea though. Should have a cd player or something too.

Keep in mind, list price is $265.

Standard discount for most LHS's is 40%, so they are paying ~$160, plus a little markup, and you will see them in shops for around $185 or so. Under $200 for sure...

Under US$200 !!?? Well thats a little bit better. I got my Mil. dirt cheap so thats not too bad. I have no nead for the PW either but WOW what eye candy WOOHOO!!! I like the ability to upgrade with the way RC is today thats such a valuable feature.

Jesus, $160-200$ for a charger? That kinda money will buy a lot of practice time/parts. I think I'd rather be a better driver than having my batteries ubbercharged for that .0000193219763th of an advantage.

What a pisser! Of COURSE I just bought a brand new Millenium, Pit Wizard, and the profile software in the past 3 weeks... Holy cow, that ticks me off! It was bound to happen, though. I am DEFINITELY surprised it was now, though. Not a word, then BAM! Oooohhh...I'm not too happy anymore.

Great charger, though. :)

that's cool and all.... but i would think dis-charging would be a much more important of an add-on than a pit wizard into the millenium....

i use cyclones, so it would be great for me... but most people don't.... they either use lower-end Novak's, or another brand all together... that makes the higher price of the Pro just a higher price with no added value to them...

peace out.... :)

It's like they are exclusively targeting for Cyclone owners... or maybe it's a way to sell more C2's. Or maybe they will bring their technology down to the mid range level like Fusion2 or something. If we're really lucky they will license the technology to other companies to make it more standard.

Grizzbob
08-03-2001, 04:27 PM
You make a good point, Howie, but I noticed that they didn't say they were replacing the old Millenium with the new one, so it's possible they'll produce both, the regular one for non-Cyclone/Atom users, & the Pro for those of us who do..... :)

I think that the Competition Electronics Inc. Turbo Chargers set the precident for battery chargers. The Millenium is nice, but it doesn't have anything on the T30 or T35. And, I allready have a PitWizard :P

WOW! Seeing them come out with new products this late in the summer, without ANY type of Pre-Hype, makes you think "Hmmmm, that means all of the OTHER things that were announced to be made HAVE been made!" Think about it, at the hobby show, they(Novak) announced the release of a few new things, first came the Cyclone2's, then the Ionic charger, now, in DC version, and then the XXtra, the last thing to check off the list, would be the Brushless MOTOR SYSTEM! My money says that they are DONE, and in the process of manufacturing them now.

Well Pond? Did I figure it out?

I'm with Howie. It also seems to me that they'd be much better off adding a discharge function (20 amp minimum) as well as making them able to charge 1-10 cells instead of the 4-8 along with adding a AC power supply to it.

At about $180 these features would be much more appealing to me than a function to change the profile of something I don't have or intend to get. I mean come on, the Tekin 112c is AC AND DC and costs $180-$190 and you can charge 1-12 cells on it!

The only thing keeping me from getting something besides my old faithful Tekin 112c right now are these features. I'd be willing to pay more than they'll get for this thing with the features I posted above.

Charlie over at Novak informed me that the Millennium Pro's list price is a whopping $3 more than the Millennium. That sounds just fine to me. :)

I think XXXER is right. To be annoucning a new product when your still not finished with the last batch of new products is hard to believe. I think that all the other products are just waiting for final test to be completed.

It's really nice to see fuses with the new version rather than having to send it back if it shorts out.

A local shop in LA, California is selling them for $160, but they sold out the day they got them. :(

Tower Hobbies is selling them for $180, but I think they are way too high.

Is anyone else noticing that Tower is starting to raise there prices to the point where its not worth dealing with them anymore? Or is it just me?

The charger is gonna cost about the same as the regular millenium, but it all depends on where you buy it.

So, I FINALLY got my Millennium Pro, and it rocks! It took forever for my LHS's to get them in stock, but they finally did. I totally dig the thing. The NiMH2 mode is awesome. There's nothing to set; just tell it NiMH2 and it will charge your 3000s perfectly without false peaking. Now THAT is awesome! BTW, I sold my Millennium the same day I bought my Pro; that's just how I like it, too. :D

It will take some time to get used to all the funky sounds... It reminds me of a freaking cellphone... lol

Is it a quick charger too? How long does it take to charge a 3000? And can you use it in your house? Or do you have to hook it up to a car battery?
