The sad thing is that is is PROBABLY just a GM3 ARMATURE in a black P2K can -- which means the ritual of letting the "factory smoke" out of the motor will still happen way too often...

I hope I'm wrong and it is really a NEW armature design, but I'm not betting on it...

I have had great luck with P2k's. My GM# had maybe 2 heats on it when it burnt up. Everytime i go to the track another GM3 blows up. Last time it was three of them! Just my $.02

It's not a GM3 arm. In fact it's a P2K arm less a few laminations to move it into a slightly high RPM range.

Thanks for the details on the new P2K2 armature -- that is very good news! :D

That appears to be the same can as the previous P2K, which will keep me away from that motor...

That is why I am getting teh Peak Hellfire, so waht if it is a relabeled Spitfire, I love that one too!

I already ordered one, I will have one of the first, I will be sure to do a writeup for you guys on the BB

Since it wasn't mentioned, I take it the P2K2 will still use the same brushes as before(& not the new bigger ones like the P-94's)?

Grizz, Why would you want bigger brushes on a stocker? They drag too much as it is, or not?

Steve, Does it have the same mags, can, and lamination design, as the P2K?

Do they sell the arm only as well...that way I can use my can.

I didn't really say I want bigger brushes, I was just curious if Trinity's was going to use them on this(since they're making such a big deal of it for their new mod). Personally, I'm quite happy with the brushes already available(especially from Reedy & Niftech).... :)

I'm about to get another stock motor (I already have a Chrome Stocker) but am still deciding which 1. I need something that will have a good amount of rpms and torque (I race 2wd buggies and a TC3) so will need 1 that I could run in each car. The tracks I run on are fairly open but with a few tight hairpins. Which should I get? Thanx

I got a chance to actually have one of these in my hand. It's a nice looking motor. Magnets seem real strong. The brushes are the same as any other stock motor. The new arm is real nice. Definately different than the current P2K. The endbell tabs are stronger than the old one too.

Well, Aussie_Man, I'd say the most balanced stock motor out there right now(not considering the P2K2) is the MVP, it puts out as much power & torque as P2Ks, but more top end, & they seem to have better high-rpm torque too, so they can carry speed fairly well, too. The only downside to them is the excess heat, but they still seem able to run strong even when scorching hot.... :)

Thanks. Do you know why they run sooo hot? Do they run very heavy/stiff springs? Woudln't the heat be robbing a bit of power out of it?

I had a GM3 and I loved it. Used it in a TC3, it was smooth, fast, and ran cooler than my P2K. I think someone said that the reason people smoke a GM3 is that they are over gearing it. I have noticed though that the P2K just runs hot all the time.

I saw a picture of the P2K2 arm on another site. It looks like the old P2K arm. It's hard to tell from the picture, but I'm sure some laminations have been removed too increase RPM. At least it isn't the Parodox arm.

I've tried different thing on the MVP and it seems a litle cooler, but still hot. It's my main motor hot or not it's way better than a P2K. The GM2 or 3 or P2K 2 are higher r's lower torque for oval in my opinion.
The MVP looks cool to. Sorry no pic. You could try Reedy athttp://www.teamassociated.com
