Rocket powered car??? What would make you wanna take a car that nice and screw it up, use a RS4 or Z10 if you wanna trash something. That car is nice, does it come with an engine steve?

Got an email from Doug McNeely today:
"A Pro kit is not in the plans at this time."

Word is, they will be selling the parts as an update/ugrade kit or individually, not in a complete car kit.

I think one word describes it well: DROOOOOOLL!!!

i think the best one is the belt tensioner, the others have been done by other companies, oh wait so has the belt tensioner...
Do the new impulses come with foams? Or is it just this prototype kit? Sorry, but i got my impulse over a year ago so i have no idea what the new ones look like.

P.S I also see some purple, on the front pulley... is this a new part?

MrShop,

As far as we know, Serpent is selling the parts separately. I'm pretty sure the purple you see on the front pully is their new front one-way.

that purple is the alluminum mid belt base. It holds the mid belt. This is not a new part, but serpent does not make it yet. Its mainly GPM that makes it. I wolfpack radicals now makes one also.

Serpent DOES make that purple aluminum bearing block. Part no. 808251. Originally for the Impact however.:)

Not really. Learned about that from the Impulse part number sheet that came with the kit. :D

If the Pro isn't going to be sold as a kit, how could MyTsn talk about a new rear geometry. Furthermore, they list the Pro as a kit, part number 801020 or 801022 with engine. I'm not trying to tell anyone they're wrong, I'm just eager to find out whether or not it's really going to be a kit, as was questioned by SkipGear.

Most likely, the parts to make an Impulse Pro are offered seperately, so you don't have to buy a new car to update (not that seems to bug some GT-4 owners that I know of:) )

I don't know where anyone is getting the idea that Serpent is not going to sell this kit. My last discussion with Serpent, which was last week, was that they were getting the final specifications for the car and were working on instructions for the kits. Sure sounds to me like they're making this car.

I just got an email from atomichobbies.com telling me that they'll have the kit in by the end of the week, so I think we can be certain that it is a kit.:)

if you are looking for an Impulse..

Call Cruisin with RC's in waldwick NJ.....

he bought the last stock of Impulse's from serpent....

201 445 8080.....great car...cheap price....He also has a ton of parts...

I'd look for something that's currently in production, that still has a few years of life left. I think I ran the Impulse 7 or 8 years ago? Great car... Could probably hold it's own against the newer generation of cars in the right hands, but parts will become harder and harder to find. And you WILL break parts. If you're a collector, I feel there is some signifigance to the Serpent Impulse. As far as I remember, it was the first of it's kind - basically a scaled-down 1/8th scale car.
