Fasglitter

Fasglitter is more than just glitter. With 12 different colors to work with it has to be seen to be believed. When mixed with our new sealer Faskoat, everything dazzles.

HMMMMMMM.... looks like a likely candidate for the mid-50's Chev Panel delivery body I just bought. Talk about retro ... remember metal flake paint jobs???? Gotta try it out. I wonder when it will hit the stores?

Metal flakes...sounds like someone i heard talking to Rich Muise of Motion graphics about.

BTW, glitter comes in (about) 15 different colors. You mix it yourself in a clearish coat and spray it on (looks like a clouded body when sprayed). Then you back it with what main color you want. Orange glitter with orange paint, purple on black; anyway you want it.

Any other Q's? ;)

Yeah I have a question, How are earth are you going to get that stuff to flow through an airbrush?

I was wondering the same thing, Jerry. I don't think it'll flow through.

Another way to do this is to buy the spray glitter at a craft store. I did my latest body that way and it turned out great, and the glue in the glitter does not affect the faskolor paint I backed it with at all. Then you don't have to worry about your airbrush, personally I wouldn't spray that thru any of my brushes

I surely can't imagine how you could spray it. I know that all my nozzles are toooo small to pass anything like that (unless the flakes are reaaaaallly tiny).

gkcontra... what a great idea.. isn't this hobby great when all of us share ideas.... I might just have to get some of that glitter and try it.

Thanks again...

Look at the Parma Faskolor bottle in the picture. If you use this paint you know how small these bottles are to begin with. Now look at the bottle of glitter next to it. That's likely some pretty small stuff. I'm sure they thought of the airbrush issues since most people use the faskolor exclusively w/an airbrush. I've used these paints for a while now and won't use anything else for so many reasons. In the past, I used the Pactra stuff and it was good too, but not water soluable, not healthy, etc. anyway, they had a metalflake silver that I would use once in a while which was basically this same kind of product (glitter in thinner). It worked fine thru my Paasche w/the #5 needle/tip combo and some thinner. I then backed it with regular silver. It worked fine. I expect the Parma stuff will work at least as good and most likely better. Honestly, I can't wait to use it in my airbrush and am looking forward to having more choices than silver or gold metalflake. Best bet...try something before forming an opinion. It might work, it might not. Give it an honest chance. If it sucks, don't buy it again. Yes, I realize that Pactra now has the acryl stuff that's water soluable, but I have absolutely no reason to switch from faskolor unless their is a specific color offered that I may need also. (just for those of you quick to correct me...tehe)

i believe its .04 micron flake as I recall. Regardless i hate when the experts pass judgement on a product based soley on a picture. I sprayed the FasGlitter last night and it works quite well. pics forthcoming. I used both the purple and the silver.
