I love comments from people who don't know jack. We get people who come into the shop and see one of the .21 converted T-Maxxes and say how their MP is better and all that. We gladly show them the truck at work and they quickly shut up. Think before you speak. If you've never run a truck like this which you probably haven't, then don't assume. Just makes you look like a fool. When you're able to to kick sand up 6 feet high and pop wheelies while already travelling 30mph, I'll be impressed. Till then you're just another person who thinks their car/truck is all that.

yer just a punk brat who works at a hobby shop, its not even yer truck, u said its the managers, so not even of a penny of it is yers.
yes friends of mine have full supermaxx 21's and nonconversion 21's. and both of them own MP's and both are more satisfied with the MP. ive driven both of the maxxes. and the reason they wheelie is because the gearing. not the "raw power" if i gear a MP like that i could wheelie if i wanted. to mean wheeling isnt that cool, it was fun at first, then i changed the suspension and gears so it wouldnt do that. i can kick up rooster tails just the same with the right set of tires on.
to me that truck looks like a waste of cash. a truck that will never be bashed like it should, it will only exist so some dude can go on and on about how his truck is the best and how he poured 3k into it. but hes to affraid to run it. i build my trucks to race and bash, not show off.
this post to me looks alot like "hey guys look at my truck, its the best, i spent waaaaay too much money on it and im the coolest"
with the 2speed and rb worlds s7 in my MP it will easily go 50mph

They are airtronics 94357 and 94358 servos. according to airtronics they are water proof, they have been more or less submerged and came out still working fine. the receiver is in a big battery/radio box. i sealed it up with some O2 sensor safe gasket maker and also ballooned the receiver up as well just to be safe.

Eternal. i own a Mugen MBX4rr.. stricly raced with, never bash it. its too fragile (even tho its very durable) i just dont like to put the extra "miles" on it ya kno. cost too dang much to destroy.
Then i have the MP and the ofna gtp. the gtp. im not sure whether it was a good purchase or a bad purchase. it has run well only once. but that one time it ran well it was awesome. all the others ive had problems. blown diffs, blown tires.. glitching.. lol its a mess
and it narrowed the stance a bit. so its a little more "twitchy" only rolled it once since i put them on. these bowties are awesome on the track. handles better in the air, and on landings. i got some maxxmashers as well.. for playin in other places aside from the track. the maxx mashers even hook up on the pavement pretty darn good

well. over the summer, when working at the hobby shop. we got to play with one. it broke a good bit the first trip out to the track. (btw, this is the pro version im talkin about) the weak points were mainly the knuckles. And luckyily enough kyosho front knuckles fit it . so we slapped on some fioroni ergal front knuckles. and problem solved. the one we played with was equipped with the brand new Novarossi SBK 0-1. it was fast and handles really well once dialed. so id say its a pretty good buggy. good job for ofnas first attempt at a race worthy buggy

why would anyone in there right mind dump 2500 into any r/c car i have had real cars when i was younger that where not worth 2.5k (don't laugh i was young). i dare you to put that on a track with an ofna worlds 2 mbx 4 or even a moded MP they would kill it. i just don't get it, guess people do that for the same reason they get really big trucks (hide something or over compensate)..

DP and Floyd,
I would have hoped that this debate would have gotten old by now. Come on guys the MP and T are both great trucks and the owners of these rides may or may not agree but then opinions will vary on just about anything.
I for one wouldn't put that much cash into any R/C vehicle. My full side truck isn't worth but $3000 and it is what I rely on to get to and from work. If you got the extra money laying around and would rather put it into an R/C project then go for it. I would rather spend my money on upgrades that improve performance rather then eye candy. I wonder how much that truck weighs compared to a box stock T-Maxx. Without a .21 I bet a stock T-Maxx would walk all over this highly modiifed static display looking T-Maxx. But as far as looks are concerned this is one pretty looking truck that does well at showing how much aftermarket support there is out on the market today for the T-Maxx.
Just my thoughts,
Jerry

Beautiful T-maxx. I'm kinda a off-road junky, and i personally wanted the best R/C i could find. MP had power and a indestrucible drivetrain, but it lacked ground clearance, and did not jump well (stock). T-maxx was slow top-end (2 speed makes acceleration pretty close bettween the 2 trucks) and a little tippy, but it has 4in of groud clearance under the front (or rear) skid, 5in. under the chassis. T-maxx was also the best jumper, and it had the most hop-up potential, and with enough money in it, could preform as well, and better on the gnarly stuff as a MP. It would also land jumps better. I currently have about $800 in my maxx. It has a .21 in it, and it is plenty quick, and jumps awesome. Plants perfectly, and comes off the jump with a "Bring it on" attitude. I personally haven't seen a MP run (a vid would be great) but i have seen similar 1/8th scale buggy/ truck hybrids. The NQ seemed too bouncy, and didn't look like it handled well at all. Off a 2 foot jump, it bounces twice when it landed. That when it actuall came down on all 4s. I'd love to own a MP also, especially due to it's drivetrain. But, I still love my maxx, because it can go over things i KNOW a stock MP,NQ, USA-1, or any other truck of that genere, would not have a chance at.
BTW, your truck looks awesome DP, I bet you could get some awesome lap-times with those meatgrinders.

My T-Maxx with the lid removed and before it played chicken with a tree. :(
Note the zip ties around the top fin of the head and the forward most front shocks are the Aluminum Big bores. The only other mods that I have made is obvously the Stinger Kit. You are joking right? They just did an article on T-Maxx vs MP in RCCA in case you were not joking. I will not say who won incase there are some that haven't read it yet.
Traxxas would wet themselves if Tamiya made the TXT-1 Nitro. :o :D OFNA would laugh at Traxxas while they cried on the inside and Tamiya would just stand and smile at the turmoil they started. I wonder which of the trucks would come out on top after the dust settled. Would it be the new kid, Nitro Version TXT-1? Would T-Maxx still be the disputed champ? Or would MP be the ultimate victor? Now that would be a great battle. Too bad it will probably never happen since the only TXT-1 they currently make is electric. :(

Now you got me day dreaming of a Nitro TXT-1. What a concept, I hope RCCA does a head to head article with the TXT-1, E-Maxx, Clod Buster, and Jugg soon. Maybe for old times sake they could include the Electric USA-1 too. It just wouldn't seem right to have a competition with a stock Clod without having an USA-1 in the other corner. Clod vs. USA-1 was back in the day what T-Maxx vs MP is today.

Is it just me or is the TXT-1 being talked about a lot lately? I know I find it hard not to write about a Monster Truck without thinking about this new truck. But anyways, let us get back on track and drool over this little Hotty of a T-Maxx. It sure is all dolled up. It looks like it should be on a Showroom floor rather then a muddy, dirty and otherwise less then sterile track. I would be hard-pressed to actually run this truck. I would still like to know how much this truck tips the scales. qua77ro could you put this thing on a scale and let me know how much it weighs? I am betting that with both trucks dry it is almost a full pound heavier then a Stock T-Maxx.
I beat my T-Maxx like a cockroach and it keeps coming back for more, within reason of course. Yes my truck is currently broken but if it wasn't for that drunk tree staggering in my way it wouldn't be. Man I just wish I would have had a microphone around when my T-Maxx hit that tree. I heard two things, the THHWAACK of the impact and the OOOOHHHHs of the kids watching it. I must admit that it was funny as heck, expensive, but funny none the less. I still can hear the sounds of the impact and the laughter of the children as I ran to see what the damage was. I would have paid good money to see the look on my face at the exact moment of impact. :D :D

Don't get me wrong i love my R/C's but with so many other things in the world to get angry about (WTC) it just seems silly to get all worked up about R/C's. With all of your guys built up frustration maybe you guys should join the military and fight. I know if everyone in America were as passionate about eliminating terrorism as you guys are about your R/C's there wouldn't be any terrorist left to fight. Makes you wonder where all of our values are huh? In any case that maxx is one awesome looking piece of hardware. Oh yeah and that MP with those bowties looks sweet. How does it handle with those on there? I jumped one with the stock tires on it and when it bounced around like a 40yr old stripper with a loose top on. I mean it was like it didn't even have shocks on it. I 'd be interested to see what it can do with smaller tires on it. Oh well i guess when i finish paying off my dentist (just had my wisdom teeth removed, DON'T EVER get it done, LOL) I'll look into getting either of the above. Those both are nice rides though.

This is just RC talk, if you feel we are getting to hot over the topic well close the thread big deal you woman ! It's part of the fun to talk a little crap and if you can't take the heat then get out of the Hobby store, moreover trash my T Maxx's, Clodzilla,E- Maxx or whatever ride I own it's all good social studies, even though we smart talk one another I'm sure we would all open are tool boxes and whip out the spare parts to get you going if you were to break down like a MP would !lol! you get the picture and if you have to take it to heart well then get a Radio Shack RC and wait for X-mas. :p :p :D

that would be the day when we see a tamiya nitro MT beat out an ofna and traxxas in a shootout. i'm sure tamiya already has plans for a nitro TXT-1.

Well the thing sticking out of the side of the pipe is the pressure line. And there is an extender, little yellow fuel line protector being used to extend the exhaust beyond the rear of the trucks body.
By Correshion, spelling is most likely wrong, I mean the leader of the Branch Dividian, also probably spelled wrong, Compound that the ATF, FBI and others stormed in Waco Texas several years ago.
LOL at DP but but but but, u called my truck ugly *sniff sniff*

Well for you all out there, the TRUCK HAS BEEN RUN! :D :D Sadly I didn't get to read this post about the weight of the truck before it was delivered to it's owner. We are building another very similiar but not the same truck at the store and I'll try to get that to weigh before it's picked up. The Thunder Tiger motor pulled and pulled and pulled as it should. As far as the bickering/arguing, it's all in good fun. Although I have to say one thing, I didn't start this post to start a fight. My first two posts say nothing but exactly what was done to the truck. I never once said it's better than an MP until someone else commented on the MP better than the maxx. I think as in the whole ford/chevy rivalry it's just that. A rivalry. Both sides have great products, and people will always take one side or the other, or sometimes sit neutrally in between. In any case, the trucks we build are run, and run hard. One of our customers brought back a truck with the rear a-arms sand blasted to a frosted look. Was definately something to see. Anyways, hope you're all enjoying your day, back to work for me. =oP Latez

Heres my maxx. it is 3 weeks old, but it has only been driven two of them. I have to agree with DP here, a truck is for beatin the crap out of it. I have lost 2 body clips, made no fewr thatn 6 cracks in the body, and i hope to beat it more, i made a skid, that was basically some old aluminum, and bolted it on, it was actually pretty sick.. skidplate, and used ot for a couple of days, and was extremely useful, i have stripped 2 driveshafts out of the yolks, and that is nuthin compared to some of you guys. I only use it for rock crawling right now.
By the way, i have nuthin against guys who want to blow 3 grand on a car, but id put it into, a racin truck, or a touring car, all the hop-ups i want to get is skids, bumpers, some chassis braces, and a diff spool.k the link didnt work go here, and type y a h o o without the spaces where i put them.

Mason,
You know I didn't catch that, but now that you mention it, yeah that is kind of odd. Maxx Mashers or Bow ties would look real cool on this totally tricked out T-Maxx.
Jerry
rcski,
In the owners defense he/she probably hasn't had a chance to even break in the motor yet when the pic was taken. But yes, I do have a ton o fun with my beat up, dirty, and well used T-Maxx.

lol.. all this talk about an RC car the somebody put WAyyyy to much money into just to make is slow but pretty. I got an E-maxx and T-maxx and they are by far the best RC's I've ever owned because unlike other RC's they can to it all pretty good.. on road, off road, climgbing, jumping, bashing, its the best all around RC I've ever had.
HERE (http://members.home.net/sixvi6-camaro/maxx_27.jpg) is a pic of my maxx naked just after a fresh teardown.. Its now got a CVEC header on it instead of the Ruslter coupler. but none of that matters because its going .21 within the next week.. :)
and a pic of my T-maxx and E-maxx..
http://members.home.net/sixvi6-camaro/maxx_31.jpg
Even if tamiya did make a TXT nitro (which I doubt because Tamiya just does not seem to like Nitro too much) .. I'll still keep my t-maxx. The E-maxx though.. it might be replaced by a TXT soon.. (but the TXT will be running on an e-maxx tranny and electronics :) )
