Hello,

I'm new to the monster truck thing but i've had a few stadium truck before but i was something more backyard friendly. So i've decided to get myself a monster truck. I sort of eliminated the clod from my choices because you need $$$$ to get to to be decent as i understand. So how is the Juggernaunt 2? What all type of chassie's and stuff can i get 4 it?

Also I've never jumped a monster truck before but they should beable to take the abuse right, even being 7-8lbs?

thanks for all the help
Jason

Even though the TXT-1 hasn't been out very long and I don't own either truck I would have to say that the TXT-1 would be my choice in this case. The Jugg and TXT-1 share a lot of parts and the TXT-1 seems to include the best parts of the Jugg and aftermarket parts from the Clod. By first look the TXT just seems like it has been made out of some of the best concepts in Electric R/C Monster Trucks of the past and present.
I must say that all of what I have said is just my opinion and not based on ownership of the above mentioned trucks, yet. ;)

I have owned Clods, JPS Clods, New Era Juggy parts..

Juggernauts, Juggernaut 2's and now the TXT-1

The TXT with my prelim run yesterday gave me a reason to sell my Juggies (now archived..)

Even the JPS Clod hasnt the articulation of this TXT.

The ONLY thing this truck truely needs as upgrades are more bearings, faster motors and a good ESC..

It climbs as good as an E Maxx, looks better, will break less and if you are so inclined the "E" tranny can be fitted with a simple mounting system as per Jasoninkorea's retrofit..

Between thost two the obvious one would be the TXT although I'll take an E- Maxx and I have owned them all from Clod to JPS,Clodzilla,USA-1 but if you got the cash check out the Ripper kit from Thunder Tech Racing it's the newest Clod upgrade ,might not be as good as a TXT-1 but it is awesome and nobody's got one unlike the E-Maxx, it might be better than a TXT but I've seen some pics of the TXT that show it at some 90degrees! from the diffs. so thats a first.

I think a TXT with the E-maxx tranny, morots, and ESC is the way to go.. that way you get good top end in 2nd gear.. great climbing in 1st gear.. and teill have the great scale look and insane articulation, especially with the 8 shock setup that Jason put on his truck. I'm getting a TXT soon.. and because I already have a spare set of e-maxx electronics and tranny.. it will be moving and groovin. but I'm still keeping my E-maxx and T-maxx.. I just love them too much. If you are all into having something that everybody does not have because you want to be different I would not get a TXT because as it looks now.. the TXT is going to be an insane seller.

I just did a test run with twin Aveox RC7's

19 tooth pinions, the largest that will fit.. the truck still flips over backwards and top speed is undetermined.. fffffasst..

Speedy,

Before you commit yourself to buying, check prices on what you want. Look at the price of the Jugg2 and the price of the TXT. then look at what they each come with. TXT is a much better value, it is a modded Jugg2 right out of the box for a few bucks more. You'd spend money on chassis parts to get the Jugg2 to perform like the TXT. Money that you could spend on bearings and a radio...

Jason, good point, to upgrade a Juggy to TXT status would probably run $200-$300

The modded Juggy still wouldnt have the ease of acces to many parts. the TXT chassis is more moudular.

Without modding the Juggy, you wobt be doing much of anything except starting at it on your shelf.

As most of you know I have been really talking up the TXT-1. Well I thought it would only be fair to speak out about my largest concern with the TXT-1, my other concern is mute now that it has dropped in price. This concern is it's speed, or more importantly the lack there of. At 5mph the truck is slow even by Monster Truck standards. Yes this can be easily solved with the addition of an ESC and modified motors but still most of us can't afford to purchase two mod motors, new ESC, Radio Gear, Batteries, charger, and the Truck all at once. I sure wish Tamiya would have trashed the silver can motors and put in at least 20T motors and an ESC. Other than this I think Tamiya has hit pay dirt with the TXT-1 and I will own one by the end of the year or tax return time at the very latest.

I agree with JerryL,

My choice of motors for the stock TXT-1 that Tamiya should of put in. Is a couple 600 or 750 size motors.

And a 3-speed manual shifting tranny or at least a 2-speed tranny.

Do you guys agree with me on that subject or not.

I agree Maxx Masher...

Here (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p.pgm?Q=1&I=LXW928&P=7) is a link to Kyosho's Magnetic Mayhem motors. They're about 22 bucks each at Tower. You can also pick up the Titans for the same price. Not too bad for some nice, torquey motors, and you'll get a bit more speed with the mayhems.

Speed is a disadvantage for the TXT, but hey, it is a monster truck. And a cool lil' crawler.

Besides, when was the last time one of us bought a stock R/C and left it that way? Only my classic Tamiyas have escaped the Wrath of the Dremel :D

Ah yes the dremel tool!, Listen partner go with the TXT and just do it cause whats the chances of you leaving it stock? Go crazy get the E- Maxx Titan motors and EVX esc some high volt batteries ,digital peak charger and VIOALA , you have one bad machine and when it's time to go on you have all the jazzy stuff for your next car. I know this is alot but hay we have time ( I think) and money right?.............lol...................
Good luck! , peace I'm out.

Hey guys I keep hearing people talking about adding Titan motors to the TXT. My questions are this, the can is bigger for the Titans so isn't the "bolt pattern" different? By "bolt pattern" I mean the two or four holes that mount the engine in the can. Or is the can only bigger in length? Or is it that the Can is larger is size but the bolt pattern remained the same as 540 motors? I have not even seen a Titan motor in person so that is why I ask this. Also by adding the Titans would you also have to add an ESC that can handle 14.4 volts?

I too have to admit that speed is not a priority for a Rock Crawling, car crushing, and hill climbing Monster Truck but it is nice to have if you are in the mood to just "cruise" around on a flat surface. Besides 5mph is slow, even for a monster truck. I think that 5 mph puts this truck in line speed wise just barely above or equal to one of the Tamiya tanks.

And you all make a very good point, just about nobody leaves a R/C vehicle stock. So the choice of motors from a box stock vehicle probably shouldn't be a reason not to buy it. I mentioned it only as a concern/complaint not as a reason not to buy the truck.

Jason,
I saw on the pics thread a pic of your TXT. I also read the conversation of you putting in that E-maxx tranny. how is that? i mean is that tranny alot nicer than the stock TXT tranny?

The Titan 550 can is a tad bigger but it's mostly the internal fan that takes up the can not to mention the armatures are 30%longer than the 540,thats for more torque.
You dont need a E-Maxx ESC to launch them 1 Super Rooster will work fine$109.00 at www.stormerbobbies.com for specs go to www.teamnovak.com., Heck 'll sell you my unused EVX as I use two Super Roosters.

Cool, thanks for answering my questions. They may seem simple or obvious to some but I just had to ask for clairifiaction purposes.
Thanks,
