If you're unsure of your painting and masking skills try using Parma's Flag Mask...it has the stars and unfurling stripes pre cut and it looks like it would come out nice...I've been getting a ton of emails asking to do the flag in Body Shop and it sounds like it would be a timely how to...

Pat, there is a very easy way to do this with cans if you don't have an airbrush. I've done several bodies like this. I usually paint the hood blue with white stars and have the back of the body with red and white stripes. For the blue, mask off all of the area that you don't want painted blue. Also, cover the outside of the body with a plastic bag to avoid overspray from getting on the outside. Go to Wal-Mart or hobby lobby and find some stickers that are the shapes of stars. Wal-Mart has several different sizes. Get whatever you want and carefully place them on how you like. Press them on really good so the paint doesn't run underneath. Now, paint the blue on and let it dry. Once it's dry, back it with white. Now, peel your masking off for where you want to paint red stripes. Remember, DO NOT peel off the stars yet. Once you have your stripes ready to paint, paint it with red and let it dry. Now, peel off the masking for the white stripes, and peel off your stars. Spray paint it all white and let it dry. Once it's dry, back the whole body with silver paint. The silver will make the colors stand out better. You can also have the blue on the back of the body with the stripes on the front or however you like. I prefered the blue on the front myself. This is a very easy patriotic paint job to do, and was the first paint job I ever did when I started racing. I think it would look really cool on a hummer body! Good luck and post pictures if you decide to do it! Matt
That would be awesome. I have been thinking of new schemes to do, and a flag was on the list. :)

Here's my attempt at a patriotic body... Only my second paint job, so it's kinda simple... Nothing fancy like Carlton's (great paint job, BTW).

That looks great Moo, especially for it being just your second body!!! My second body looked like spilled paint.

Yea Moo it yours looks good to me too. On mine it was a last minute change the red is the spider mask from XXX-Main and the blue drips is the small drip mask from XX-Main. The stars I used the star stickers from Wal-Mart as the mask for them. I used to spend a lot of time custom cutting designs for these cars but now I spend all my time working on other stuff so I cheat and use more masks now especially XXX-Main's cause they're just a little different than the normal.
