I've never used Liquid Mask. I've heard about it, and it sounds like I ought to try it on my new HPI Eclipse body. How does it work? Is it brushed on? How is it removed, and what precautions should be taken in applying it?

aight here we go... when you apply it you do brush it on. You should apply at least 4 coats letting the previous coat dry completely(don't don one coat or else you'll be scraping it off with the edge of a spoon in crums, believe me I know) When removing it just peel it off and trim it of the edge to make sure you get a strait line. Good luck man and I hope your bod turns out good.

BTW liquid mask takes a bit of getting used to and you have to have a steady hand and be good with an exacto knife to get a good strait line.

Drummer has some good advice. The best stuff to get is the Bob Dively's liquid mask. I just use a cheap epoxy paintbrush and brush it on REALLY thick. I let that sit for an hour, and go back and brush on one more really thick coat and make sure I didn't miss any areas. Then, I blow a fan on it and let it sit overnight. You can tell when it is totally dry all the way through by looking at it. It turns clear, but still a bit foggy. You'll see what I'm talking about. Like he said, you have to have a steady hand, and take your time with it. I love this stuff and use it on a lot of bodies that I paint. Bob Dively's is the best. Don't get any of that other crap. Matt
