View Full Version : MP wheel swap/upgrade

Does anyone know what other wheels can fit the MP? I want to slap some smaller wheels and tires on it so I can do some street driving. I was thinking about the ones off of the Hyper 7 and putting some street tires on it. Any done this? What about the Blazer SST wheels with TMaxx tires? I dont wanna fork out 2 bills for some new aluminum ones...

Buggy rims setup for a 17mm hub would work, but haven't tried it yet. I don't know how fast it would be - you may have to run a smaller spur for better performance. The Blazer SST rims will work on the MP with TMaxx rubber. Just bought the SSTs and some TMaxx Proline Road Rage, but haven't glued them up yet.

where'd you get the SST rims from? is there somewhere i can get them online? are they wider than the buggy rims?

hey one more thing... how big are the SST wheels compared to the monster blazer? and compared to the MP? i like the overall size of the MP wheels but would like to go with narrower wheels to ease the stress on the A-arms and bulkheads. i've gone through a few already...

they wont be on the site most likley. but pick up da fone and give em a ring. they will take care of u. they also have the tmaxx rubber for the wheels.

**note: the wheels come white. and i dyed them using RIT fabric dye**

The SST wheels narrow the stance a good bit because of the backspace. but as a result i have noticed less damage and wear on tear on the front end. it also steers quicker and jumps better. The narrow stanced hasnt made it unstable like i had originally thought. i have yet to roll it as a result of the sst wheels.
Amazing too, these sst wheels are the exact same size as the tmaxx wheels.
You can also slap on some regular buggy tires as well.

Hey DP, I tried to send you a message before but that's ok, I was just wondering about your shock/spring setup. I'm fixing my MP's shocks/springs. Are those Kyosho long white springs on all 4 wheels there? What kind of shocks do you have? Do you use 60 wt? Thanks.

I ran the blazer SST rims with bowties and it flipped pretty easy if you arent careful. I also shattered 2 of my rims just from jumping. They are great if you are on a budget like me :)
