I need a bit of adice on my recent compressor. I bought a small Badger air compressor, model #180. I believe is it the Cyclone I. My question is this. I have a pressure regulator on it, and the most pressure I get is between 12-15 psi. Is this enough for painting bodies? I have tried the larger tank compressors, but have recieved complaints about the noise from my roomies and neighbors, as my schedule only allows me to paint at night. The regular compressors are just too loud in my neighborhood.

Since I almost have to use this compressor, does anybody have tips on how to properly thin my paints so that they come out properly? I am using all types of paint, Pactra, Pactra acryl, and Faskolor. Can Faskolor and Pactra acryl paints be thinned with water? Or is there a special thinner solvent for them?

Thanks for any tips!

Fascolor and Acryl can be thinned using just water. you will have to thin them a lot at 12 to 15 psi. I would start out at a tablespoon of water per bottle and go from there.

cartmen you shouldnt have any problem I've got a 180 and I been using it for years to paint everything. The only thing, It didnt come with a regulator maybe thats resticting your air flow.

rcski, I have the regulator opened all the way up to get 15 psi.

Thanks for the tip hauntedmyst. I'll give your thinning tip a try.
