heres the tip
Custom Cut Tires
(Masher 2k Impressions)
Supplies Needed:
-Some V-Tread tires
-Wire Cutters
-Free Time
Step One:
Take your tires off of the rims (if mounted) if your tires are off already, skip step one.
Step Two:
Get your wire cutters, and tires. Now make put your cutters facing the tire, and make 4 cuts, leave about 1cm, or 10mm apart from each cut, then pinch your tire so you can put the pliers and hook them on the nub that should be cut off and snip it off, and do that with the other nub over too. (take a look at pro-line masher 2000 tires for an idea of what and where you should cut.
Step Three:
Repeat step two until every bar on the tire is cut like the first, be sure not to cut through the tire, if so, just take a little piece of rubber that you have already cut off and ca glue it on, and cut it down.
Step Four:
Mount your tires on your rims.
Performance:
I did this to a set of tires for my DuraTrax Max ST and have driven for about a year with these tires and have found they work on all surfaces. Work best on dirt and gravel and grass. They enhance overall handling by much!
Good luck!

Bob, I will sell the car kit. Dont want no stiking OFNA whatever it was. Hey, Can i trade the car kit for a lifetime subscription to RCCA and RC nitro. I would rather have that.

lol, now i know why he posted this
if anyone gets the latest edition to rcca you'll know why he posted this thread, the quality of the tips must be going down, one tip was to put a piece of fuel tubing between the pullstart handle and the pull start housing so its easier to reach w/ your body on, (who doesnt know that?) but one tip was pretty good it was to see whether or not a paint scheme would look alright by using colored paper and putting it behind an unpainted body to see what the finished product would look like.

Setting up a 1/8 scale buggy perfectly is tough with the rims that arent straight. So get yourslef 8 CD's that u dont need, glue them together in piars and mount them on your buggy as setup wheels. Then get a toe-in guage to perfectly set up your buggy to track striaght and consistantly.

Hey try to think of tips that havn't been done allready, especially since it was done in the november 2001 issue, and it was the top tip.
Puder, you too, that was one of the tips in the December 2001 issue.
Be unique, dont copy people

RC10 lol, that tip in the Nov issue was mine :D . So I didn't copy it, hehe.
I just sent one, hope it's useful!!:)
I think people just can't think of any more tips!
One of them is like: Put all your stuffs in a basket before you go to a race. (who doesn't know)
I like one of them, its like cut off the sharp edge of your screw driver so that there is more grip between the screw and the screwdriver.

Dont spray large moths with motor cleaner and then place it in your modified buggy for a few laps... Some people did that at my track, funny to see, but you get the bug bits all over your car, plus you chance breaking something.

OK I have one in. I agree with new2nitro. Most of the tips are pretty lame to us that have been doing this awhile. Alot of the new people and the backyard people don't know these things though. How often do you print stuff over? I'm guessing that when, we that do know, stop offering new suggestions. It's time to print the old ones again.

Pit Tip... hmmmm.. Pit tip...
For an improved Fuel tank door handle do this.. Take one zip tie and connect it onto the tank lid and zip it al the way down... then take a few inches of fuel line and put it over that zip tie. Then find a circular servo horn and put it on the zip tie. and lastly take another zip tie and connect it to the top and snip off the end of it.
I dunno if this has been psoted yet or not but its a good impreovment to an old tip.

Only major problem I see there is when you flip the car it makes for a HUGE plastic disk to get caught between the body and the track surface, possably openning the tank lid while upside down. Not the best thing to have going on.

Pinky.. it could be shortend a little to sit under the body. IT would still be effective.

Yes but then you would have to hunt for it. If you're just playing around it won't hurt anything. If you are club racing it could cost a possition or two.
What I have found to be a better alternitive is to use an extra long zip tie. attach it to the cap as normal then slip a piece of shrink tubing about an inch long over it. Loop the tie back down into the tubing and bottom the tubing and end of the tie on the zipper. Shrink the tubing tight then drop a couple of drips of CA into the top of the tubing. You now have a neet and easy to grab handle. Just stick your finger in the loop and lift.
