i'm just getting into rc cars. i live in norfolk,va and i'm trying to find a place here where i can look into buying a xcar and racing. pl'z help me!!

Hey, I just happened to be on and thought I'd give you a line or two. If you're completely new, try picking up RCCA magazine and checking the back for local tracks in your area. Also try posting this message in the regional forums instead. You night even find a post there already from other VA people. I live in central Illinois so I may not be much help to you out east. Its hard to find hobby stores nearby. My closest one is about 30 miles away. Tracks are even harder to find. That place I mentioned has an outdoor asphalt track, but I only have offroads. Oh well. Dude I used to live In Newport News. I know there are tracks in Newport news, Hampton, and in Va Beach. I didn't race r/c when I was there, but I saw 2 guys last Sat at my local track who made the 4 hour trip to race here. They are from Norfolk and was telling me that you have all kinds of tracks to race...If you can get onto the Naval Station there is a hobby store with an offroad track there also...At least there was one when I was there 8 yrs ago. Hope this helps...Yeh I was in the Navy, but now Im in the Army, I might try out the Airforce to:rolleyes: LOL

Ok just checked your profile saw your n the military, so getting onto NAS Norfolk shouldn't be 2 big a problem. Also Check out a Hobby store called Debbies something or other, located in VA Beach. I have seen it on the RCCA Yellow pages, they have a track/hobbystore there. Don't know the whole name, but it does start with Debbie.
