You might want to try a Piranha peak charger. It says that its safe for packs up to 2000, but I have some SMC packs that are 2400 and it charges them fine if I have a fan on them. The charger must work good, since I won the A main last night in my second race ever. You can get the charger for under 40 from tower. They also have a gift pack combo that comes with a 1500 pack and the charger for 50. I got the combo and I'm satisfied with my cheap charger. Just a thought for you....

I have the MRC 959 charger for all of my nitro batteries. I use it to charge my rx batteries, glow igniter, and hopfully I'll soon use it to charge the battery for a T-Maxx EZ-Start. It works great, just push start, and then wait. You won't find another charger out there with as many features for even close to $50. Get it.

Bullfrog, I think it charges at 4.5 amps. Most batteries like to be charge between 3.5 and 5.0, so it will charge your batteries no problem.

Bullfrog,
The Piranha is awesome. I used one for around 2 years, and never had any problems (I have an Intellipeak now). It is a rugged little charger, and will charge any Ni-Cad (the box says up to 2000, but it can handle 2400 mAH).

For that budget, I agree about the SuperBrain 359, I think it fits under your budget & it definitely has all the features you'll need(including for if you decide to buy some NiMh packs later on)......:)

I will eventually buy NiMh packs but not right now. Infact im using my dads charger to charge my packs. I only have 4 but one of them is a 2000 (thanks jeep) so ill get the peak power.
