Tonight or tomorrow I will be ordering two packs of batteries. The will either be 2400's or 3000's. I have a T3 with a 16 Turn motor right now. i also have a duratrax intellipeak pulse charger. It has amps from .5amps-6.5amps. So it can charge both kind. I am not really a racer more of a basher. Which do you suggest i get. i have about 100-130 dollars to spend and would like to get 2-3 packs. Thanks for any info.
P.S. what amp should i charge my new batts at.

I would recomend some 2400's. Also I think you should charge at about 4.5-5 amps.

2400 will be a little cheaper 3000 will give you more run time. I know promatch is having a sale on some SMH 3000 for $55 a pack with some pretty good numbers. If you really do not care about matched packs you can get great prices on pre-assembled packs. Again the 3000 will be a little more but will give you better run time. It is up to you to figure cost vs. play time. I would charge both at 4 amps - 5 amps. You should make sure your charge is NiMh compatable if you get the 3000's though.

Honestly, I'd recommend 2400's for just playing, & even for most forms of racing still(except for certain classes that place extreme loads on the battery capacity, like 8 minute races of 1/12 scale cars or TC's running motors of less than 10 turns). I am very impressed with the newest NiMh cells, but they still haven't been around long enough to tell if they'll be useful as long as NiCd's are, plus you do have to charge NiMh's more carefully(but 2400's are just like any other NiCd's). Better to save the hassle & go out to have fun......:)

What do you think of the Trinity Racing Pack. They are 2400 vis batteries and are assembled. They are 42.99 at tower right now. If anyone could take a look and tell me what they think I would appeciate it. What runtimes can I expect. I have a T3 with a Speed Gem 2 Ruby 16T Triple. Gearing 20/87. Thanks again

You can go to www.Promatchracing.com right now and get matched cells for 38.40 and they will assemble them for you for another 6.00. That means you can have 2400 matched packs for 44.40 plus tax and shipping. That is a better deal even for bashing. My point is that is not a great deal. As far as runtime it will really depend. I would guess 6-10 min. Grass will make the motor work harder so runtime will decrease where parking lot will give you more runtime. They even have cells with lower numbers for $35.20. Again they will assemble them for $6.00. This guy sells great stuff. I have been VERY impressed with his product.

So you are saying that the Trinity cells are not matched but the other company's are. So for about the same price I can get match packs. Why are they so much cheaper. Probably because they don't have a big name like trinity

Yep you got it! :D He is blowing out the 2400's on a deal right now so I would act quick. That is not to say you are going to get good cells since he sells them by the numbers that he gets on the matcher and I will stand behind the numbers he has on the cells. The ones I have received were better then expected. Not to say Trinity would lie on there numbers but they do not sell there packs by numbers but rate the packs by batch and the best of the batch get the higher rating regardless of the numbers. Once batch may be good and you will get good cells in there world class packs and pay $90 for them but the next time you go to get a world class pack and pay the same $90 you may not get as good of cells. With a smaller matcher like promatch you know what the minimum numbers on the cells are going to be upfront so you know what you are paying for. If the numbers are not as good he will sell them for less. The packs you would by in this blow out sale are pretty good numbers though and will perform better then the unmatched packs you would get throught he trinty deal.

Casper you are the nicest guy I have met on this zone so far. I think I am going to get the batteries from pro-match. I just look at the numbers and the trinity voltage was less then the promatched. Both company's are using saynoo cells so I don't think it will matter. I think the higher voltage the better. I am going to get them preassembled. Buy the time I buy the stuff it will be worth it. You just saved me like $60 thanks again. If there is any questions you have I will trymy best to answer them for you
