I am going to purchase a new engine for my T-Maxx and I want to know which one is the best, ONLY SMALL BLOCKS!!!! I don't want to hear how good your .21 is cuz I don't have the money for that yet. I want to get a good pullstart small block. Any ideas?

GTX, I would have to go with the O.S. .15 CV-RX. 1 horsepower at about 30k RPM's. This thing has some pretty good power numbers!

what about the megatech .16? 1+hp and 33000 rpm's. pullstart version is only 90 bucks. a lot cheaper than o.s. and just as good.

The O.S. is more reliable, easier to tune, more torque, good pullstart, and it is an O.S. The Megatech isn't just as good. I believe the O.S. has more power, anyways.

Wait for the OS CVR-X to come out. Best bang for your buck with much easier tuning than a Picco or a Fantom.

Don't discount the M-16 though. It's got plenty of torque. It'll spin the wheels as easily as any engine, It just doesn't have the top end.

beleve want you guys want to, but just because o.s. has been making engines for a long time, doesnt make them the best. other companys (megatech) can pick up on tech and do just as good of not better! besides, the cv-r is a racing engine, costs about 170 bucks, right, the megatech is only 90 bucks, almost half., the megatech is a lot more affordable, besides, i would buy an os, but there just too damn expensive, waaay overpriced!!

I have had a 12 CV-R in my GTX's, and it hauled, so I am going to run a Picco in the T and then whe the 15 CVR-X comes out I will get that and put the Picco in the RC10GT I have. I have just heard bad things about the megatech before, so I chose not to get it, unless it proved otherwise. Thanks for the responses.

GTX, sounds good!

I am not saying the O.S. is better just because it is an O.S. The CV-RX is just a better engine, period. It will have more torque, and more top end.

This is not to say that the M-16 isn't a good engine. It is a great engine. But, when your getting a new small block for the T-Maxx, why not go all out?

geeze..you OS people..brainwashed like AMWAY salespersons..lol..the megatech 16 blows the os off the track...i have never seen the wimpy OS stand the MAXX up on its rear wheels like the MT 16 does..and for the price..buy two..one for a spare. Me..i prefer my .21 maxx and my .15 HPI SS maxx..but my next replacement engine will be the MT

I am not talking the CV-X .15(That one only has a claimed .68 hp at 29k RPM's) I am talking the .15 CV-RX. The CV-RX has 1hp at 30,000 rpm's, while the M-16 has 1hp at 33,000 rpm's. So, you will get a better carb, more power, and faster top speeds.

dragger...the os engine is the same HP
..if the os is making 1hp and the megatech is making 1hp...the MT will be going faster because it is spinning at 33k versus 30k..even both engines at 25k...you wouldnt know which had a higher top speed it would only be slight//...clutchbell and spur gear changes affect speed...the torque of the T-maxx purpose built Megatech .16...dusts all 0S 15's and 12's..they even give my .21 maxx a run for the money.and all this for 79 bucks....an OS?175?

Oops, the CV-RX has 1.2 horsepower, at 31k rpm's. The usable RPM range is from 4,000 to 36,000.

The O.S. has the better carb, more torque, more speed, and, because of the better carb, the ease of tuning. I think all of that is worth the extra 100 bucks.

I can't wait for a dyno test on the megamelt. OS CVR .12 according to Mr. Ponds dyno test, .88 hp, 38 oz torque at around 24k. Picco .12 RE .90 hp and 40 oz torque. I hear the Nova Rossi has the highest numbers yet for a .12. ( XTM.15 .45 hp 20 oz torque, I think they claim .85 hp, that's 50% less than the Picco ) Megamelt ? hp ? oz torque. The Megamelt being a .16 should have huge dyno numbers??????????????????????????

put a Picco .15...most hp in a small block motor..period.The Megatech motor is just a big bore Dynamite..set the two side by side..they are the same motor.
