View Full Version : Futaba 3PJ and Hitec Reciever?

Okay, my 3PJ (in PPM format) works with a futaba FM reciever, and my old tekin FM recievers, but it doesn't work with a Hitec reciever. I set up the system with a novak super rooster and a hitec servo. When I hook up the Hitec reciever (not the dual conversion type) the steering servo glitches bad, but when I hook it up with the other recievers it's fine, no glitching. I don't think the reciever is faulty. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Make sure you use the Futaba crystal in it and it should work.

It's a futaba crystal, and the crystal's fine. It just glitched bad... still responds to input, but the servo becomes eratic. Very frustraiting.

I've never used a HiTech FM reciever...only AM...and had problems with that...now that I'm on FM with a 3PJS I use XXL recievers and they work flawlessly.

I'll have to check those out.
The Hitec reciever worked perfectly fine with my 3pdf, but it just doesn't work with the 3pj (and yes, the setting is correct).

i have a problem sorta like that, i have a expert servo)its really, really small) and it works with my am radio setup(magnum junior), but doesnt work with my fm system(3pj, novak mercury)!? really wierd, i really like this little wonder for my pan cars, cause its one of the smallest, and most durable servo ive ever seen, and it only cost like 20 bucks.

Um, no offence intended, but this is a reciever problem, not a servo problem.

I can't think of anything...if you had accidentally left that model in PCM mode instead of PPM mode then your throttle would be glitching as well as the steering...and it glitches in code...almost like seeing your car do morse...LOL...I did that a couple times by accident

No, it's not in PCM mode... it's in PPM mode...

Yeah, it's really annoying, cause it's only that one reciever/transmitter combination. The reciever/servo/ESC setup works with the 3PDF, but not with the 3PJ (in PPM mode of course). But when I change the reciever to either the Futaba (FM) or the Tekin (FM) recievers... works perfect. Oh well... I'll try one of those novaks, and sell the Hitec.
