It is soooooooo cool. Changes great, and I love the fans and the tiny size! Power supply ac-->dc is nice too!:D

Im saving for it. Will eventually get one... But for now I am stuck with my Mega 3 charger. :(

Hey do you guys know if I can use the coupons that come with twoers flyer all at once? I have 15 dollars in coupons, which means the digital is only like $95 if I use them.

I have one as well. Works pretty good. But I blew the AC adapter. Don't ask how, I don't know. It just gave up. Did I send it back in under warranty? Nope, took it apart. It blew a fuse that was soldiered in place. Simple fix if you "blow" your AC adapter. I don't use it anymore to power my charger. I use a computer power supply with a few mods. Works great! It powers my charger or comm lathe! Anyways, just giving yall a heads up about the AC adapter... L8R

the coolest thing is, THEY STOP CHARGING WHEN THEY ARE PEAKED! i have been using a hobbico 15 minute charger for 1 1/2 years now on 2000 and 2400mah batts, not good. i screwed up one time and my battery pack was sooooo hot, i took my raytek temp gun and measured the temp at 110!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT GOOD! im going to have to cycle my batterys becuase of all the abuse i have put them through :( im sorry sweet sweet c sized power of my tc3 givers :(

WOOOOOOOO! Im getting one for christmas. My mother told me today that she was going to buy it for me through tower. She said she needs my help to order it. Im so happy! No more dumped packs with 2 min left in the race. No more embarrassment. No more dial! Sorry... I have been wanting this for quite a while.

Peak chargers are the #1 upgrade every begginner should make. I have never heard anyone at the track say " Oh..be right back, I need to turn the dial" No! You hear " Be right back, my back just peaked and i want to get my other pack started"

Any peak charger is better than a dial, but i love my Competition Electronics PitBull :)

-BUMP- :)

Just ordered mine! Should be here by Friday... I've been using a Hobbico 900 (15 minute timer) since I got into this hobby a couple months ago. I recently aquired some used, but in good shape Sanyo 2400 NiCDs (for a total of 3 saddle packs) that I'll be using in my Corally C4 and figured I'd better get a decent charger/discharger/cycler.

I guess I should cycle these packs a few times. What will cycling do exactly? I know from what I've been reading that it improves or restores the batteries? explain this to me please...

I also have a Duratrax Piranha 1500 stick pack that I reconfigured into a saddle pack and another set of Sanyo 1700's too that I want to use as well. I'm sick and tired of waiting for batteries to charge at my track. So now I have 3 packs of 2400's, and a 1500 and 1700 pack as well.

I've been in the hobby for only a few weeks/ a month and am already considering buying a peak charger. Had I known better, I would've spent the extra 5 bucks to get the Duratrax Piranha Peak charger from the start  instead of the Tower Hobbies 420 dial one. I can onlyhope I get one for my birthday...

*edit: Ideally, I'd get the Intellipeak digital, though...:D

I got it today!! two days earlier than I thought... It cost me $196 delivered to my door (with shipping and taxes).

I definitely like it better than my timer charger!.. LOL

Pudder, that's about right for that particular model.. but it cant charge two packs at a high amp. I think it's limited in a few other ways too.. The one I bought is the Digital one, it can do 6.5 amp charge on both types of batteries and has 10 amp discharge..

I just use the timer charger and homeade bulb discharger, I just wait till the batts start to get a little bit warm.

I heard that the intellipeak is a "pulse" charger. Aren't "linear" chargers better? Or does it only matter if you are charging nimhs? I just got started in rc over the summer, and I bought a duratrax CX-15, and I hate it. I have already screwed up my first and only pack with it. I will buy some more batteries as soon as I get a peak charger. I was wondering what kind of charger would be best for charging regular duratrax piranha 6 cell 1500s. I was looking at the MRC Super Brain Delta Peak (the original, which is cheap and has all the features that I need). But, I heard that MRC chargers have a tendency to overheat. Also, the guy at my hobby shop said that they have had some problems with the piranha peak chargers. I don't want to pay more than I need to for a charger. All that I need is the ability to peak charge regular nicds. I don't want to pay extra for the ability to charge nimhs, as in the intellipeak.

dan- i have a pirhana peak charger and a duratrax intelipeak digital charger. they are both great, anill get the job done. the pirhan is a graet no brainer charger, but i would think you will have to create a special charger-adapter for it becase it is a saddle pack. it only als peak charges up to 2000 mah. i don't think it would be best for your 2400's. the intellipeak is a great charger and can do many things. i suggest looking into duratrax's website and doing some reasearch on the one you want(out of the 5)
good luck

It IS a linear pulse charger. So there. pulse just means it pulses energy to the batts. There is really no difference between the charging types. IT works great for all batts from 600 mah ni-cd receivers to 1100 nimh receivers to 1800 mah transmitter batts to 1500 stick packs to 3000 nimh racing packs

I have two digital intellipeak chargers for my emaxx and they are fantastic!! just wish duratrax would make one good digital that will charge two batts at once. im mounting both chargers side by side on a board with clamps to hold the batts.

no pudder, you didnt understand me. i said a dual 'digital' intellipeak. not the multipeak piece of junk that would take an hour or more to charge two bats at 4.5 amps. i charge mine at 5.5 and there done in about 12 minutes.

:( :( :(
Mine is collecting dust! I havent been to the track in over a month and I don't have any tires I can bash with. Hey.... I just realized I have a piece of junk TC I can run outside.... Well I am leaving, I need to go bash...

Note: I know the post is pointless, but I'm glad I posted, I had forgotten bout my TC cuz it was broken for so long. Oh yeah, the charger is the BEST for the money! Several of the A-main guys use them.
