Umm, i wouldnt make masking tape i would buy it.

If your talking about paint masks then i can help.

1) sketch sketch and sketch your drawing,

2) when i get a drawing done i get my self healing cutting pad, put down strips of masking tape, and tape my design over it.

3) i cut it out with my x-acto knife.

4) When pulling it from the cutting pad make sure you dont tear the mask you just cut.

5) apply to body and done!

p.s. you may sometimes have "bleed through" depending on the paint you used you can usually scrap it off.

If you have any more questions ask.

He means one of those green plastic/rubber art pads that are for cutting on.. try an art supply store or a newsagent.

if you go to a sign shop most of them will either give you their scraps of vinyl or sell it to you real cheap the peices are usualy big enough for masks what i do is on my computer i design my mask then print it out on real heavy paper (i use 67 pound paper it does not rip easy like normal paper ) tape the paper to the vinyl and cut through both paper and vinyl together than peel the backing off the vinyl and stickit in place on the body . paint the body remove the mask and finish painting

the vinyl can also be used on the out side of bodies to do something different with a body thats already painted

just make sure your knife has a real sharp blade for clean cuts

Yes, once you apply the mask you paint around it, then when you got the main color done, you peel it off slowly, and paint the blank spot where the mask was.

REMEMBER, PAINT FROM DARK COLORS TO LIGHT COLORS.
